Agreed that it is highly likely the 3rd train was axed due to staff being unable to cope. For those not aware, If the trains where not out of the station in good enough time then the 2nd train would stop on the 2nd lift hill. As the ride ages, problems are not un-common and in the event of a shutdown on 2 trains it could potentially mean evacuating the first and second lift-hill if on 3 trains. From what I used to see, vampire on 3 trains required experienced and efficient staff, the best of the bunch and quite simply it's not alaways possible to get those staff in.

Where do you get all of your information on? You seem fairly clued up, do you run the place? You know it deffinately isn't going anywhere anytime soon, you also know why the ride is experiencing downtime as it is recieving a software update? These are things that any regular visitor wouldn't / shouldn't know? Your attitude towards other people in this conversation has been nothing short of ridiculous, nobody is right or wrong, they are opinions. You need to accept that other peoples opinions may differ from your own. Grow a pair.

One side = queue for front row One side = queue for back row

The park opens in just under 2 months, that is more than enough time to make a decision on how this will be organised. I understand people are critical on here, but I cannot see the park opening the ride with some sort of free-for-all system of queueing.

But what is the point? They have worked flat out to change their target audience over the past decade. I can't see it being a massive crowd puller, "Come to Thorpe Park with your child as they can ride X No Way Out and then go home..?" It's fairly difficult to exaplain what I mean here, in short, there are that few rides in the park with a low height restriction and over the years, families have been pushed away to the likes of Chessington, so lowering the height restriction will make very little impact as hardly any people under 1.4 visit the park (as there is no point). Maybe I was a bit harsh, it can only be a good thing I suppose. If you look into the reason for the change in height restriction I reckon it was fairly simple - New trains allow shorter people to ride = "Might aswell lower the height restriction then"

Cheers... it's a nightmare at the moment.. so painful to see your club be torn about by people who haven't a clue what they where doing. Especially from the best night in our history back on the 19th May 2012, it's all gone horribly wrong since. The fans are making their views known, plenty of abuse towards fatty even when we were 2 goals up last night, the problem is that nobody cares what we have to say. We sold out yesterday at the Madjeski, but plenty of our fans opted to just stay at home. I know many people (including myself) who have given up season tickets or have just plainly refused to go until Benitez is out of our club. We could of lost 4-0 under Di Matteo yesterday and it would have been better than this. Absolutely terrible tactics from fatty aswell. Mata should have been replaced by a Defender for starts, Benayoun is useless. In our game when we were 2-0 down at Swansea , he decided to take off Azpillicueta for Ferreira (Defender for Defender) on 80 minutes. Yesterday, when we were 2-0 up he decided to swap striker for striker. Ridiculous.

Seems pointless having a 'Step Up' ride to me.. if you are under 1..4 meters it is pretty much pointless to be visiting the park anyway. Sorry for the negitivity, I'm sure it will be an improvement, but possibly a step in the wrong direction.

One of the benefits of Reading’s plastic stadium on an industrial estate just off the M4 is that one does not need to go into Reading to get there or get away from there. Reading is not a place anyone would want to linger in. It is not as decrepit as some post-industrial northern hell-holes or Swindon but even Swindon has some character. Reading has none. It is largely a modern creation, situated on the banks of the upper Thames, the sidings of the high speed western railway and the hard shoulder of the M4. A town without heritage or culture. One can have a violent reaction to Liverpool and be revolted by Sunderland but Reading is altogether more scary. It is like a lifeless planet whose atmosphere is entirely made up of inert gasses. Whereas Wigan and Wales are places that people come from, Reading is a place to which people go and from which they don’t return. It is easy to be confused by the antiseptic nothingness of Reading and think that it is harmless but it saps hope from those who visit. It is a corrupting place. It is godforsaken. Reading supporters don’t just come from Reading but from the green counties that surround it. This is Cameron-world, the happy valleys of Chipping Norton and around where newspaper executives ride their police horses and text Prime Ministers. Supporters from these leafier areas came to see rugby at the Madjeski and stayed on to watch football. Leave your Barbours and red trousers at home for fear of being mistaken for one of them. Remember that, however innocuous Reading supporters appear, they were the frenzied mob who jeered Petr Cech for having been the victim of a murderous assault by that Reading legend Stephen Hunt. The weather on Wednesday will be, like Reading, mild, wet and windy. Please don’t stop to buy a half and half scarf. If there is a market for souvenir scarves (and sadly there does, sad0ly, appear to be one) why can’t those scarves be Chelsea scarves with the name of the match on it? The wearing of opposing team’s colours is offensive, not funny and diminishes us all.
  9. Cleaning the thing is an absolute nightmare. I once worked flat out cleaning the trough the whole way through the ride, the whole building gets absolutely filthy through the course of a season.

I'd say that JT (It was JT) is probably better than Ross Turnbull in goal to be honest. Lol
  11. NickD replied to zkk's topic in Stuff
Turnbull starts for the Reading game tomorrow... uh oh.

Interesting. I'm going to see out the rest of my contract and should save a good chunk of money then see where I fancy going from there. Weird how I've suddenly changed my mind, was always convinced that money would bring happiness, certainly not the case. For those who need 'Previous experience' when applying for jobs, try putting the likes of Woolworths / HMV / Blockbuster on your CV?
  13. NickD replied to Marc's topic in The Real World
Work is boring. Considering taking a substantial pay-cut to go and start doing something else I am that fed up. Good thing is that at the moment the money is good and the locaion (fulham) is good, but yeah, boring.

Social Networking is becoming ridiculous. On the way to football, myself and a group of others where getting on a train at 10am from Kings Cross. Next thing we knew, 10 police arrived and said 'We are getting on it with you' how did they find out? Social Networking. I'd like to think that all of my accounts are now 100% secure and not in any way public, but it just goes to show that saying something that you feel is harmless on the internet can lead to reprecussions. Oh, and that Vine thing looks like a load of crap by the way.
  16. NickD replied to zkk's topic in Stuff
I'm not 100% sure it was, I think it was more a case of just trying to get the ball back. It looked like it was out of frustration because it was hit with his toe, to poke it out from underneath the ball-boy. The reason or doing this is because it would have been impossible to get the ball any other way. We are a joke, but our owner and chairman are to blame for that, it's one thing after another and we've learned to just laugh it off now. Benitez had the chance of winning 5 trophies when he joined Chelsea... we are now down to just 2 (Realisticly 1)
  17. NickD replied to zkk's topic in Stuff
Every team does , but yesterday was a new extreme. Oh well, as Millwall say.. No-One Likes Us, We don't care. Still European Champions. Better Angle May I just ask, if that had of been a player on the pitch (Raheem Sterling, who is the same age as the ballboy here) would he have been sent off? Doubt it
  18. NickD replied to zkk's topic in Stuff
The most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in football. Swansea should be fined for time-wasting tactics by their ballboys. (Who may I add, made it clear on Twitter before the game that they would waste time) The police got called in to look at this, Hazard tried to kick a ball ffs... ridiculous.

It would be half decent if they could do something with the outside of the dome. It looks ridiculously naff, as Fredrico has suggested. As for the Crash Pad, I can't see this working whatsoever, but then again I am sure that Merlin have more experienced people in marketing that would have conducted the appropriate research for this. I just honestly can't see why you would want to stay there, if anybody could give a few reasons?

Manchester City rarely manage a full house as-well. We've got 3,000 heading to Swansea tonight, which is pretty damn good for our 14th Consecutive mid-week fixture. Cannot wait to go to Brentford on Sunday, old school ground + terracing!
  21. NickD replied to zkk's topic in Stuff
With Benitez in charge, anything can happen. This was meant to be the best season in our history, chapions of Europe. But abramovich decided to sod it up. Unfortunately, I'd like to see Reading go down, not selling out (or coming close) games at the top level is a pet hate of mine and I feel that a team like Palace probably deserve a place in the Premier League more so than Reading, sorry If anybody is vaguely interested in Football at all on here, I shall put up a few pictures of mine from various European trips which are quite interesting! Reading are going to get Murdered at the Madjeski next week.... Interesting fact, the game will be our 14th Mid-Week Fixture in the last 14 weeks. Wallet hurts.

  24. For Thorpe Park, it is a brilliant ride with impressive themeing and an overall brilliant experience. I wouldn't like to give it a top rating however, purely because it didn't have that 'oh my god that was breath-takingly good' when the ride was over. So yeah, despite it being a class ride , there are betters out there so it just falls short of excellent for me.

    - People who do not anticipate barriers at tube stations- People who try to read the metro when there is no room to move you arms- People who stand on the left hand side of escalators- People who don't let you get a word in- People.. pretty muchYou should see me on my way to work... great fun!
