Most probably not. Last season, Chessington on-the-day was £33, whereas Thorpe Park was £35.
  2. Not at all. I'm not saying that I want the Queen'e English on every website, and I admit that the website is perfect for the target audience. As I've said before, I just hate it.

But if we're really talking about pricing, why not just scrap all of the BOGOF vouchers, save on printing, and halve the on-the-day prices? Makes sense to me.
  4. It's not quite that bad. I know they're appealing to a target audience, but it really is so unprofessional.

Obviously I like snow ball fights as much as the next guy, on the day that the snow lays. After a few days, it turns to compacted snow or ice. Then it's just not funny anymore.

With the maps, I feel that it would just be better to hand out maps free of charge, but only to people if they ask for them. Have them on display in the admissions kiosks, but only hand them out if people ask for them. I know that as an employee in this sort of retail job, you are supposed to ask every visitor whether they would like a map, but I really don't think this should be the case.
  7. Yes, I completely agree with you. I applaud the park for creating a website which, although I don't like it, appeals directly to their target audience. They've hit the spot, and I can see that, I just hate the site as a matter of personal opinion.

It's not funny, the ice is really dangerous. Outside of my school, an ice ball was thrown directly into someones eye, which sliced their retina. They can't see out of that eye anymore.

Although I agree it's a rip-off, to most people, who visit 2 or 3 times a year, these changes will make very little difference to a day out, if any difference whatsoever. We are being very analytical here, as we are on every aspect of theme park life. Entry ticket prices increasing by £1 sounds like nothing when put in that sense, does it?
  10. Paul replied to Marc's topic in General Discussion
I wasn't being literal, obviously they can charge as much as they want to. I was just being theoretical, there must be a limit at which people will just stop going to the park? (At least all of the people who buy on-the-day anyway).
  11. I hate the website, for many of the same reasons already posted. It's tacky, I hate the new 'let's get down with the kids' approach, and it's such a step down from the previous website. That tacky comment at the end just sums up the whole website for me. Annoying, irritating, and completely unprofessional.

I agree, it's just ridiculous. Seriously, they can't really increase the prices anymore, surely?

To everyone out there who somehow finds it funny to throw ice balls at people you don't know, p**s off.

There is absolutely no proven connection between homosexuality and theme parks.

I have to disagree with you on that one. Recently, it seems to be the case that the chavs are more of a minority than a majority than in previous years, and I don't feel at all unsafe when I'm at the park anymore. Obviously though, as expected, I do prefer quiet days, as I imagine everybody would.

(:Also, I'm not too bothered by the busyness aspect. The fact that the park is open for 12 hours in my opinion is a perfectly fine consolation for the amount of people on park. Last year on my visit it was heaving, yet I still got a satisfying ride count. If anything, the more people adds to the atmosphere, especially after dark. I don't really mind the very busy days anymore to be honest. I'm in it more for the experience and atmosphere, I've done the rides plenty of times now. A busy park is an electric park for me. Obviously I hate queueing as much as the next guy, but I love Fright Nights!

I agree! I know people slate it for many reasons, but I can't go to the park without a ride on X:/. Just love it! Don't know why really, a mixture between the amazing retro queue theme, the actual ride experience, or the concept, a backwards indoor coaster. As much as the above may sound sarcastic, it's not.

I will be returning to FN, for the three reasons that:1. All of my FN trips have been incredible. 2. I adore the park after dark (mainly for the Stealth Plaza theme)3. I am addicted to The Asylum. So yeah, I'll be going back. Hopefully more than once this year.
  19. Paul replied to Phill's topic in The Real World
Anyway, can we get back on topic please. There are a handful of other discussion topics where this would be more appropriately placed.

I need to decide what I'm doing with my AP this year. I've currently got a Thorpe Park pass, which runs out in early August. Since then, I have been visiting Chessington a lot and loving it, if only I could turn back time I would have bought a Merlin pass. I just need to decide between the standard and premium now before August!
  21. It won't be dramatically quieter, but Sundays are usually a bit quieter than Saturdays. We're not talking walk on queues or anything like that, probably generally shorter queues by about 10/20 minutes, and usually you'll find that quite a few people leave the park early on a Sunday.

I'm just going to be blunt here. If you can't sit through one exam without thinking about or going out to complete such actions, you do have a psychological problem that needs professional medical attention.

I've just been told that I've got the day off tomorrow too! (:

Argh I know how much that sucks. We have been told, next week if you see our school as closed, all year 11 students must still try to make their way into school. Mock exams will not be re-sheduled unless absolutely necessary,

We just journeyed into a new year, and I have a rant for you all. I absolutely HATE the comments on New Year's Eve such as 'Oh 2010, New Start, New Me!' 'I'm going to leave everything in the past behind, and get everyone I hate out of my life'. I'm sorry, but going from 31st December to 1st January is just like any other night. Obviously, everyone celebrates going into a new year, but I really don't get all of this 'New Me' business. You're exactly the same as you were yesturday, it doesn't seem as though you've stopped contacting everyone who you met in the past, and it doesn't particularly seem like you've started life again. Honestly, what are you talking about?
