  1. Thanks (Speedy reply too, I'm impressed! )
  2. When under 18's are limited to 8 hours work per day, is that 7 hours work + 1 hour break (8 hours in total), or is it 8 hours work + 1 hour break (9 hours in total)?
  3. I agree. Although I have to say I did prefer the ride before the sponsorship contract, I do still love the ride for what it is. Forgetting about the old ride, the tune is cool and appropriate for kids and families alike, the nature of the ride is fun, fast and exciting, and the general experience and atmosphere is very magical, ideal for Chessington's target market.
  4. Tim put that very well. It's more of an educational visit than anything, rather than The Asylum for example, which is there just to scare. That said, it is a fantastic experience, and shouldn't be missed.

Now you mention it, I can visualise seeing the crocodile towards the end under the final helix. But, needless to say I'm long overdue a visit.
  6. Keith's right. If you haven't been before, it's a completely different style to a theme park. The whole attraction is very much a tour, you pass in groups through various sections, some of which may include attractions. They are there primarily to make the tour more exciting, and less like a museum if you will. Unfortunately, re-rides can't happen. But to be honest, in my opinion they're not really the sort of rides that I would want to do over and over. There aren't any thrilling coasters or anything similar, for example one is just a simple boat ride which again, emphasises the educational part of the visit rather than anything else.

Oh, of course. It's all coming back to me now.
  8. I love the current site to be honest. Right on target market. Very graphic. Ideal.

I'm doing a talk of Merlin at school, and could anyone answer any of the following questions? It would be a great help. 1) What is the average gate figure on a peak day at Thorpe Park?2) What was the approximate visitor number in total of all Merlin Attractions last year? More specifically, Thorpe Park? Thanks

I know of one, in the swampy water underneath the loop.

Only for long distance reading (I.e.: white board at school). I very rarely wear them though.

I couldn't care waiting for another minute per ride, if I meant that my ride was significantly better.
  16. I agree, it's so annoying. It's also annoying when people get really good marks and grades, but only because they cheat / copy other people. Some people get really good grades, and someone the other day asked me what the homework was, and I just said 'well you get excellent grades, you can work it out for yourself'. Now they don't talk to me. WTF?
  17. Hopefully :PMy first theme park visit this year will be Thorpe Park at the end of March,; hopefully everything will be running smoothly. Although I'm not a fan of half-term openings at all, it does give you something to do during half-term, especially the AP holders. But for people who pay ticket prices on the day, it can be and often is a waste of money.
  18. I'm really not a fan of early openings with limited rides at any theme park. Parks should be open when ready, when all attractions are available.

I've never really researched much into Cedar Point before, but I'm literally lost for words after having just looked at the incredible number of coasters, thrill rides and water rides on the website. This is definitely number 1 on my list of parks to visit.

If you compare the theming quality between Thorpe Park and Chessington, it really is quite a remarkable difference. If you go onto Fotowhizz.com, by each photo in every different area in Chessington, there is a distinct difference in area, and the theming is really quite obvious. Also, each area is incredibly different to the park entrance theming, which, understandably is rather generic. Whereas in the Thorpe Park albums, there really is no immediate difference between any of the areas. And as for the park entrance, I can't see any difference between the entrance / bridge photos and each area photos.

I'm not scared exactly, but I must say I'm not the greatest fan of horror mazes. I don't mind them at FN when I'm in the mood for a scare, but I don't think an all-year round horror attraction was the best idea.

I have to agree on that one, I'm not really looking forward to SAW ALIVE at all. I'm not going to bother queuing for it if the queue time is anything over 30 minutes, which I know it will be. Then again, I know all of my friends will want to go on it so I guess I'll have to.

It's only since yesturday that I've actually really started thinking about and looking forward to the start of the theme parks' open seasons. Not too long now! So many new things to see as well, SAW ALIVE and more excitingly Wild Asia, but I'm really going to make the effort to go to Alton Towers at least once to not only ride Thirteen, but to also ride Air, Oblivion, Nemesis, Rita, Sonic Spinball, Ripsaw, The Blade and Submission, all of which I've never ridden before. Also, if I have the chance, I'd love to re-visit Port Aventura, after absolutely falling in love with the park after my first sunny visit two years ago.
