  1. Well, I'll be using SW trains if I get an interview. I'll leave extra time. Although, reading the forums suggests that it wasn't fully the trains that were to blame?
  2. At least you know that you've got an assessment / interview! I haven't even got been told that yet!
  3. Lol, every day when I get home from school the first thing I do is open my hotmail up, check my inbox. I'm usually ok during school, but as soon as I start walking home the thought of having an email pops into my head, I almost run home! (That's a bit on an exaggeration!)Today at school, there was a constant mechanics sound going loudly all day, it didn't help that it sounded identical to Tidal's chain lift!
  4. I bought mine mid-season last year, it was only me buying anything so I just got the one, but my friends outside would have got a mug each if they'd have known!Fantastic mug though, not only does it hold a lot of great memories, but it is actually really nice to drink out of!
  5. Argh, the anticipation of waiting for that email is too much!
  6. Mine has to be my TP Blue Skyline mug, don't have a drink without it!It definitely seems that mugs are one of the most popular items of merchandise!
  7. I've never seen them to be honest. Doesn't mean they don't sell them though, can anyone confirm?

I like the retheme. A good idea, something that kids and families alike will enjoy, and I should imagine that the theme music will be something of a tune to remember.
  9. I will tell you about it, from the information that other members of this forum have given me. I personally haven't been through the process myself. On the day, you will go to the Assessment Centre at the park, and you will complete various activities throughout the day, in both groups and individually. During the day, assessors are looking for enthusiasm, and how you work with other people in a team (which is essential in R&A). Following the assessment, will be an interview on a one-to-one basis. Don't worry, the days are designed to be a lot of fun, and you should meet lots of new people. The assessment days are a fantastic opportunity to show what a great asset to the THORPE PARK team you would be. So, make sure you take the opportunity! The main thing, is to relax and enjoy yourself. Be yourself, and let them see why you would be perfect for the job. Within 14 days after attending an Assessment / Interview, you will be telephoned to tell you whether you have the job or not.
  10. I have to say also, the Monkey Swinger is looking very good, just a little depressing maybe?
  11. Dan and Jack, when did you send in your applications? Thanks Mark. (:
  12. I'm in the same boat, applied for R&A on Wednesday. Just waiting on the email now. Congrats on your application being accepted though!
  13. Thanks very much! :huh:It all sounds quite simple actually. A couple of other questions: So the induction day is sometime during the main season I guess? And when you talked about 'shadowing a member of staff', is that on the same day as the induction? It would certainly be a lot easier it everything after the assessment centre was on the same day!
  14. If you are successful after an interview / assessment, what sort of training or induction takes places for jobs in R&A? (Ride Host, not Operator)For example, do you do something like shadow someone for a day to learn how its done? Or is it more like you just get an hour long training session? for example.Even better, if anyone who has been through the whole process could briefly explain what happens after the interview / assessment day, I would be greatly thankful. I've skimmed the forums, and all I can see that people have talked about is hearing whether they've got the job or not after the interview / assessment. But, what happens after that before you actually start working?

I completely agree. That's why I believe and live my life by the phrase: Life is for living. If there's something you want to do, do it!Recent circumstances (family and other) have made me realise how quickly a life can end. So, why should we give up our dreams, and not do what we want to? We shouldn't. Every moment is precious. Noone knows how many they've got left.

    The Challenge #2

  18. It doesn't even matter if the park gets infested completely with chavs, or the summer wasps take over, I will still love the park for what it is, even if that means it being empty.
  19. I have been visiting the park for around 10 years, and due to that the park holds a lot of fantastic memories for me. Especially Logger's Leap, Rumba Rapids, Flying Fish and Tidal Wave. Although the park is deteriorating in some respects, I still love it. I adore the music parkwide, the rides are fantastic, and although the theming isn't anything compared to Disney, it's still ok, and I have to say, the music tracks across the park do provide a lot of the theming (especially in Canada Creek). I always have loved the park, and always will. It holds some of my best memories.
