Fright Nights 2025
So - no new maze (not that one was necessarily anticipated...) A new scarezone. Creature Campus show gets a retheme.

No Russ, no Tidal Wave flame effect 😥

2025 Season
"Lands" at Thorpe is a cyclical process, they get removed and re-added every 3-5 years 😁 I know it's peak season but some of those queue times yesterday were horrific - Hyperia being ded all day didn't help, but Detty on an hour, Walking Dead on 80-90 minutes, Storm Surge on 80-90 minutes. Stealth, Nemmy and Colossus were all 100+ at one point. Grim. But at least the park is making some money so the Tidal Wave flame effect is instated for 2026.

She's back to her old ways - yet to open today...

2025 Season
First not-too-good day at Thorpe in a while it appears today. Colossus is closed all day, and was yesterday. Nemesis Inferno closed all day. Stealth on one train.

2025 Season
Credit to DigitialDan on Twitter. I mean, that's one way to fix the screen - put a massive sign in front of it. AI is not the one though, look at those Hyperia wings 🙃

Legoland
Noted about the fences covered with plastic sheeting?! Yikes. Think it would have been better left as normal ride fencing...

2025 Season
Definitely - I wonder if Project Pivot will go ahead for 2026 - and if it does, that's not a draw to get people through the gate. Is there any point to it if there's only going to be one event a year? (this year at least). If it does go ahead... Slammer site flat ride for 2027? If it doesn't go ahead... new flat ride next year? I feel like we're at a bit of crossroads now for the next development - one would assume TWD IP is nearly expired (and it's not relevant anymore anyway)... questions over Ghost Train what with the disappearing shop and merch - then if you get rid of Ghost Train AND TWD you have a massive space - but would they really want to remove a building that'll only be 10 years old next year? Questions over Rumba Rapids, as we all know it costs a lot to run in terms of power and staff... Interesting times. What would be disastrous is attractions are removed/SBNO without anything replacing them, but to be honest - that's the way I think it will head.

2025 Season
Agree with the above comments (I've never had an annual pass of any type mind you), but I had my visit in April, just about got my ride on Hyperia by heading for it at 10am (as it was the day it valleyed), and managed to go on Stealth front row a number of times (before it died later that week) so I suppose that's a "win" in Merlin terms? I work Monday-Friday and live in Southsea so don't have the luxury of being able to go to Thorpe on a whim and lap Hyperia like some seem to. I guess I won't visit now until September for a quiet day, perhaps - last year I did a 2 day trip (1 night at the Shark) which to be fair was superb value. Other than that, Fright Nights is a rip off so I might finally get myself to SLKSTN UNLOCKED and be able to experience the mazes like the influencers do instead of spending £10 a pop to be batched with 20 people and see 3 actors.

I spy a broken green light again 😜

Fingers crossed for a @Parm Pap update soon.

Stealth
Another morning, another closed Stealth...

Stealth
As said previously by @JoshC., this is most unlike Stealth having issues like this. Normally it's down for a part, then fine again, and not up down up down (other than going to 205ft and back again obviously)... I'm praying for her and keeping her in my thoughts.

Stealth
Just spotted. Definitely something very wrong with the proper Queen of Speed this year it appears so far.

Stealth
Has Stealth died again?! 🫠

Stealth
Bit like the Tidal Wave fire effect 😁

Stealth
They definitely don't reply to Tweets etc. as much as they used to, so would make sense.

Stealth
By the way, bit naughty that the app allows you to buy a one shot fasttrack for Stealth still, and has done all week 🙃
-
Stealth
They decided to make an exception for Hyperia last week 😛
-
Stealth
Think they need to update the ride availability page on the website as that's a week now...
-
Stealth
The downtime would imply they are waiting on a part. Was running well last Wednesday, other than a rollback in testing.
-
Stealth
The usually reliable Queen seems to be having some down time... She did rollback during testing on Wednesday and then did open, but seems to have been down for the last few days.

Hyperia
What @Inferno said is spot on - Hyperia rapidly becomes known to the public as "the ride that's never open" - and then attendance falls and doesn't hit the expected returns Vs the investment, and then you end up waiting for another 12 years for the next big coaster again. Ok maybe that's an exaggeration, I think Dezza Brown the original white elephant didn't help there, but you get my point. As I said before, it really shouldn't be this much hassle getting on a sodding rollercoaster. First world problems and all that I know -June 11th and 12th 2024 is still a fresh wound 😛
