  1. We need the equivalent of the Exodus thread piff waff guy to spill the beans innit.
  2. I don't think so judging by the ? mark teaser - the orange ? looks Wasteland-ish and the blue looks electrical of sorts...
  3. Ouch. The headsets in bags is not good - they've had all closed season to fix them, so that implies to me they just aren't bothered and don't want to throw any more money at it, so will just run it at a reduced capacity until they decide what to do next. Is there a cohesive story with these various actors and final coughing person scene? One would assume and hope so? I really don't know what they will do with this ride once the IP runs out. To have it without the VR seems like a very expensive ride on a train. I can only really imagine going down the permanent scare maze route to get a bit of extra mileage out of it? But then that costs a lot with actors.... it's clear that VR headsets just aren't up to the day-to-day constant use so can't see that being used. Maybe fit projectors/screens to the windows of the train a la Hogwarts? That's possible I suppose. It's certainly going to take some "reimagining" that's for sure. No wonder it's been so long since Thorpe has had a big investment after spunking that wad of cash up the wall on such a white elephant. Who's Ghost Train is it? Well, technically speaking it's mine but I don't like to talk about it xox
  4. Wordle was a bit of a bish today tbh. I will miss the Clowns as like has been said, it's something different from everything else and a chance for a different sort of interaction vs. other mazes. Some of my best run-throughs out of any maze have been on Twisted Clowns, a highlight having the Smiler theme sang at me throughout as I was wearing the hoodie Not sure if I like the sound of The Volt coming back in some manner or form... personally I'd like a Coven of 26 😍
  5. Playground not yet open, will not be visiting on Wednesday 27th April. Oh wait, new toilets - T R I P I S B A C K O N 🥰
  6. Sooooo.... Twisted Clowns is gone and being replaced with something that looks to involve electricity judging by the question mark... and a brand new haunt is coming too. I do wonder if Tulley's will do a full reveal waaaaay before Thorpe to one-up them (especially considering some of their tongue in cheek tweets last year!)
  7. Agree to the above - keen for a Thorpe meet like the good old TPM dayz.
  8. What's the sik reference exactly, or just a typo? Obvs JCK SLKSTN & Co. love a "sick", is it a Merlin dig? 😮
  9. Just to say what I did on Twitter - this drilling is for soil sampling so they know what they are dealing with when putting in footers/excavations etc. It will categorically, 100% NOT be being used to drill holes for construction itself and is purely for investigative purposes. Still - progress is progress, and is exciting to see.
  10. Very true, and considering around 97% of MAP holders have a RAP pass, that makes a real difference 😮
  11. Probably Storm Eunice m8, that's the textbook response
  12. Agree Derren is still very popular in terms of his theatre shows, and I myself am a fan of his. Just not "his Ghost Train" - even at the time though, I don't think Dezza was very "target audience" at Thorpe. The Black Mirror IP is similarly questionable - is there even going to be a new series on Netflix? Could they not have just had that experience but tied it into the Smiler, their own - very successful - IP? Bit of cross park promotion? I do wonder who makes these decisions and hopefully the reliance on short-lived IPs will be a thing of the past (#PrayForExodus) - don't get me wrong, IPs like CBeebies land work perfectly and are spot on, but with the exception of SAW, I would say every ride/area based IP at Thorpe has been questionable at best.
  13. I think it's still a case of "when it all works, it's alright" judging by reviews/vlogs. Bring back the lights on a stick I say. It probably feels like longer, but DBGTROTD turns 6 years old this year. There can't be much left of that IP now... can there? For the love of god, even if it had expired I can't see that a) Thorpe would want to pay out for the use of Derren's name and b) Derren would want to be associated with it any longer than he has to. Similarly... Angry Birds can't have much left either, surely? Again, why would they pay to keep that IP longer than they have to? (other than meaning they need a new 4D film and rip off a few vinyls and statues here and there!)
  14. Cheers m8, planning application must be due to be announced as approved then innit.
  15. Was genuinely thinking about this last night - there can't be many years left of the Walking Dead IP and I really can't see them renewing it either as it's not hugely popular anymore (a bit like Angry Birds, but was that even ever popular when they bought that IP...?!) - my money would be on it being completely removed for a new attraction that isn't indoors, personally. Maybe bin off Black Mirror at the same time, and then remove Slammer finally and bang you've got a nice new area for that RMC...
  16. Scrap themed audio and play my bae Carly Rae/Bae Jepsen throughout the whole park at all times, job done, money saved, which can be invested into fixing that dead panel on the big screen on the plaza and also the green Stealth light xoxo
  17. Jumping Spider sounds like the sort of name Thorpe would give to an old ride they've moved somewhere else to pretend it's new 😁
  18. Genuinely think these signs are one of the best things Thorpe has done in ages - really impressed me and this not a sarcastic post! Really nice touch. (The Swarm posters on the other hand... why add things to by far the most heavily themed and ImMErSivE part of the park?)
  19. Not quite sure how things can go from the sublime to the ridiculous so quickly....!
  20. This money tastes funny... unexpected journey... this is your stop... who's Railway is it.... Derren Brown's Ghost Train Return Of The Demon: The Rollercoaster (DBGTROTDTR) seems 99% confirmed to me. Poop papp wiff waff.
  21. Yes, it would appear that the teen slipped out from underneath the restraint - a seatbelt there would have potentially made a life-saving difference 😞
  22. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10651331/Teen-dies-fall-Florida-amusement-park-ride.html Absolutely awful news. This is the world's tallest drop tower ride - it does feature seats that tilt you forward and I wonder if that had a part to play in this here. You have to wonder if the restraint was pulled down far enough. Be careful if looking on Twitter because the video is out there and currently not flagged as sensitive 😞
  23. Yes "last minute" certainly feels the order of the day. Agree that Kieran didn't want to / wasn't allowed to show some bits. Can't see why you can't show the Dodgems roof though in detail, at least it proves what they are saying if you see what I mean, it's not as if it's their fault. Appreciate you could see it a bit in the background but still. I had no idea passholder day is tomorrow. Wow. That's the definition of last minute. The MAP group might make interesting reading! Playground, toilets - ready for "the spring" - why couldn't work on those start in December? It's almost as if they don't know what budget they are getting until the last minute and then panic to do things. I like those new queue boards though, so that's nice.
  24. Ahhh yes, Face It Alone X TPM X The Big Top. For me, summed up in two words: Ball Gag. Maybe me wearing sparkly cat ears for Halloween insinuated I was "up for fun" 🤔 Will have to see if I can dig out my picture of my bruised hands after spending most of the maze crawling about on the floor and squealing like a pig. Definitely remember shaving foam and then straw being thrown in my face too. Was brilliant having a drink afterwards in FINS 360 VIBES and all the actors coming in! 😃
