    Music

Saw these guys at the Harvest Festival at Jimmy's Farm back in September and completely fell in love with their music. Its one of the more popular tracks from their album that a friend kindly bought me for Christmas so I didn't have to keep using Grooveshark to stream them.
  2. Just found this in my youtube subscriptions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDEVA8FNHDI&feature=g-u&context=G1d177FUAAAAAAAAAA Bit of a publicity stunt in London.
  3. Anyone have a copy of that verbolten video, its been removed by the user?
  4. They arn't open yet but are being advertised. On the adverts there is a prebooking option before august 31st for discounted entry to both attractions, I have added a couple of pounds to both of the prices to get to what the entry without any sort of discount. And yes I agree, when its open we shall find out, was just a bit annoyed about the prices thats all.
  5. Just to go back a bit to the Blackpool Tower Regeneration. I am in Blackpool at the moment and to be honest am not so happy about this whole seperate attractions within the tower business. I'll Explain. The tower used to cost about £25 a person for entry, and that included everything, trips to the top, the 3D cinema and the ballroom. Now you have to pay for each attraction seperately. It cost us £12.50 each just for access to the Ballroom and Circus, it was an extra odd £5 for access to the childrens play area jungle jims. The estimated cost for the Dungeon is about £10 and access to the 4D theatre and Blackpool Eye Experience, which I assume is a trip to the top of the tower, is estimated at about £8 per person according to posters around the tower. With these prices it will cost the average person between £30.50 and £35.50 which in my mind is ridiculous. Also as much as I prefer the waxworks in Madame Tussauds Blackpool over what used to be in Louis Tussauds my family and I realised that most of what used to be in there was closed off yet the same price was charged as before, it took us over 2 hours to go through it when it was Louis and less than an hour now that it is Madame Tussauds. Another little niggle I have is the removal of The Asylum towards the exit of it which has now just been closed off and had a wall of the gift shop placed over it as if it was never there. It wasn't one of the scariest horror walkthrough attractions ever but it was a laugh, just sad to see it go.Anyways, rant over, well done to anyone that read the whole thing!
  6. You got me there! In all seriousness though, I'm sure it's the same person.
  7. Just a quick note that is a little bit off topic, but would I be right in saying that Les is also an actor within the saw the ride queue? I was there Thursday before all The Swarm marketing began and saw an actor in the saw the ride queue that looked exactly like him minus the glasses. I wouldn't have been able to tell unless his hood had came off though.
  8. Hi, I'm going to Thorpe Park this Sunday with my best mate for his birthday, but he is unsure on whether or not to go because there is a chance of rain. Are there any rides that are likely to become unavailable because of this?Sorry if this is a bit of a silly question but its deciding whether we go on Sunday or not.
  9. Check his notes on facebook, there is some more information about the codes. Les Coogan's Profile
  10. Ok, sorry that I havn't written my review of last weeks playlist, I will try to get round to it later tonight, I've been bugged down with schoolwork and having to go out with the family.Anyway, I have a slightly varied taste in music so this playlist might not flow quite so well as some of the previous ones, but IMO its still worth a listen, you might even enjoy it.My PlaylistThe tracklist is as followsWither - Dream TheaterNovember Rain - Guns N' RosesBackfire At The Disco - The WombatsMidnight - Bar9All I Ask Of You - SkrillexMy Heart Is Beating Fast - Mint RoyaleTrail Of Broken Hearts - DragonforceStart Today Tomorrow - Youth Group (which is lovely!)There was 1 song that wasn't available on spotify for the playlist which was Nothing Else Matters - Metallica. A link to it is below Hope its alright!
  11. Just so everyone on here knows, I use Grooveshark, its not quite as refined as Spotify but has a massive library of songs and is totally free to use within your browser. No play limits, no audio adverts, and its completely free so its worth a look for all of you that will be saying goodbye to Spotify or parting with your cash to buy premium.Oh, and from what I understand its completely legal, so you dont have to worry about that either.
  12. My review of Dan9's playlist.I won't go round rating all of the tracks individually as the whole playlist seemed to flow pretty well as one. I admit that I didn't listen to it all at once but instead listened to a few songs over 3 nights and generally thought that it was quite a happy and 'rocky' play-list.The main thing for me is that it exposed me to some music that I would have otherwise not heard of and for that I am grateful, some of the bands are now in my Spotify favourites! Overall I enjoyed it.
  13. The playlist may not be showing as you havn't enabled spotify social, it says you have no public playlists on your profile. Only trying to help and I might be wrong.
  14. I rarely join in with anything on here, but I'm always up for a bit of music so I'll sign up.

    Logger's Leap

A full boat with me at the front ended in us nose diving into the water after the splash area, I was soaked through everywhere below my shoulders.
  16. There was a group of people near me near the front of the Colossus fastrack queue who weaved from the normal queue, under the barrier, and into the front seat queue just before entering the station. I hate to say it, but they played the race card and stayed where they were in the queue as others didn't want to be caught up in it.

I think lack of a better name was better as well, his new style with the dubstep influence is still brilliant though. I like both, the dubstep version is the new deadmau5's style whereas the no dubstep edit is more like his old stuff. On another note his at play albums are brilliant as well!

  23. Ok, I went on saturday and sunday, the first two days of the scarefest and I had a brilliant time, the best out of any UK theme park. The first day was more centered around getting the bigger rides done and staying later, so we left the house at 5 and arrived at the park at 8:30. We were parked on the nearest carpark to the monorail which was nice as we didnt have to walk too far. Got to the entrance at about 9 and redeemed our 2 day tickets at the kiosk and bought some scream fastracks, to use in the dark. First stop was Nemesis, which was a front row walk on, then air which was almost walk on and we got second row seats. Then headed to thirteen after taking a "shortcut" through the gardens and wood. Queued about 70 mins for thirteen but was well worth it then went and did Charlie and the choclate factory which was alot better than I expected. My sisters spent some time in Cloud Cuckoo land while me and my stepdad went to hex which was amazing and only had a 10 minute queue. Afterwards we went to Sonic Spinball, sisters and stepday went in the normal queue whilst I went in the single rider, so I got 2 rides in the time it took them to get one, which annoyed my sisters, followed by a 15 minute queue for oblivion which wasnt too bad atall! We ventured over to the dark forest to eat our packed lunch/tea under the rita launch track in the seating area and then queued 60 mins for rita just before it got dark. Once it was dark we went straight over to Forbidden valley and used out fastpass for nemesis in the dark which was brilliant with all the red lighting and the smoke under the final corkscrew followed by riding air which we used our fastpasses for aswell. Both I thought were really good in the dark. on the way back to oblivion we did Duel Live/Skelvins thingmebob which was a bit scarier than we thought it would be but was incredibly fun. Once we got to oblivion we walked straight down the fastpass queueline and into the station without our fastpasses being checked, so we did it twice, both times they wernt checked but we left it there as we needed time to do Thirteen in the dark. The whole thirteen after dark thing was a bit of a letdown really, I was expecting loads of actors in the queue and around the area trying to scare me, but actually we didnt see a single one in the entire hour of queueing. The lighting was very good though but the actors, or lack of actors really let it down. Was definitely a better ride in the dark as the forest was almost pitch black and the camera flash left me dazed for a few seconds.Day 2Same start to the day as day 1 but then dd ripsaw and the blade before leaving for Charlie and the chocolate factory. After that my stepday stepdad said that he would like to do Terror of the Towers, it was his birthday and I didnt really want to queue 45 mins for it but was well worth it in the end. Was my first scare maze and I dont want to give anything away to anyone else so I wont say much about it, but it is well worth doing if you get the chance. Changed my view on scaremazes and I really want to do more in the future! Went to oblivion next and did all of the rides in the X sector followed by my mum saying that we should all do thirteen again, so we did! Then headed to katanga canyon and used our fastpasses for the flume on the way, then used them on the mine train, and the rapids ride which we did twice as we queued the first time and then went throught the exit the second. Then had a great meal at the explorers pizza and pasta buffet which I recommend for anyone that goes to the park, great value for money, I think I had about 4 drinks, 13 pieces of pizza and loads of other little bits for about £8.99 which I couldn't argue at! We then went back towards the dark forest for a few last rides, firstly hex, which was walk on, then charlie and the chocolate factory, which was walk on, and then rita, which had a 10 minute queue.Bad pointsI didnt really like the use of the portable floodlights, would have much rather seen themed lighting like nemesis's and thirteens rather than big, bulky, noisy generators with blinding lights on them that lowered the quality of the theming.Overall a fantastic weekend, and I also really recommend the your day wristband thing, it was a laugh to see all the footage and in the end we bought a DVD of our day as a souvenir. The writsband irritated my wrist as I had a long sleeve coat on but I put it in my pocket and it still worked absolutely fine. Great weekend and a great set of staff as well, they were really helpful towards us. 9/10 overall!

I'm a huge dubstep fan, and Katy on a mission is the type of dubstep that will get the genre more recognised, but I agree, proper dubstep is the best!
