  1. I'm not feeling organ personally. I think Terror of the Towers strobe maze, combined with the '07 FN Entrance I was talking about, combined with "Mermaids" from the new Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack.
  2. Same, I've thought a lot about this. I hope it has a strong main theme, and not just a few ambience tracks like Saw. Also, I was thinking a really dramatic, haunting choral theme would be brilliant inside the station, with it being a church. I was thinking something along the lines of that track that was used for FN park entrance a few years ago, but slightly softer perhaps. It's annoying this will be one of the last things we'll find out about
  3. Yeah, B&M rarely do a pull-through. Intamin do it on every new ride, but B&M don't.But in response to this latest update, wow! Looks brilliant. I can't wait to walk around under it and watch the trains swooping around. Just a thought though, are we to assume there will be netting / framework under the turn into the inline? Given we walk right under it I imagine there will be, but hope there won't be :PAlso, This line from the Dev Diary makes me happy

    This: Is awesome.
  5. Bloody hell, this is getting so annoying. I hope they do fail and fall into financial ruin. If they do, I think Alton should offer them jobs on minimum wage and see what they say

The graphics are great, they look really good. So far I've noticed grand total of one texture pop but that was my console screwing up (went into slight meltdown, it does that sometimes). But yeah, brilliant detail, huge draw distance and no screen tearing. Very pleased After all the speculation and worry about how the PS3 one would be what with Oblivion and FO3 being less than perfect, it seems flawless all round - no lag, no game-breaking glitches and no save file size issues by the looks of it. There are people even questioning if it's a port at all or a nearly entirely custom build for the PS3, that's how good it is
  7. Just popped up on my facebook and I was just a tad surprised, that looks brilliant! The corkscrew is a ) massive and b ) nicely asymmetrical with a pretty great profile Looking forward to seeing more of the plane!

Skyrim is bloody heavenly; this is the first time I've been off it long enough to come on the internet since getting it yesterday Played until 3:30 am last night, slept for 4 hours, then carried on all through today! I'm just utterly speechless; even having played Morrowind and Oblivion and then following the development of Skyrim for the past year and seeing everything it would feature, nothing could prepare me. It's insane. And I'm very happy the 360 version is more buggy than the PS3 one - I've had no problems so far! And the soundtrack is just beautiful - I'm playing with my huge nerdy Sennheiser headphones and it sounds exquisite. In awe
  9. *Tells TTF we may or may not have a Q&A with B&M*...*Watches TPM membership rise*
  10. Station building from la Facebook.
  11. Right, I guess now would be a good time to finally try and do a proper one of these! This season I've only hit 5 new coasters, but I suppose there are plenty to be getting on with This list is a pure coaster top 10, it should be noted. Top 10 rides is just too impossible.1) Montu - Busch Gardens Tampa2) Manta - SeaWorld Orlando3) Nemesis - Alton Towers4) Air - Alton Towers5) Cheetah Hunt - Busch Gardens Tampa6) Duelling Dragons (Fire) - Universal's Islands of Adventure7) Kumba - Busch Gardens Tampa8) Incredible Hulk Coaster - Universal's Islands of Adventure9) Revenge Of The Mummy - Universal Studios Florida10) Expedition Everest - Disney's Animal KingdomSo the manufacturers go, somewhat one-sidedly: B&M x7; Intamin x1; Premier x1; Vekoma x1. Tough choice putting CH up at 5 over all three of the 6, 7 and 8 spot coasters, but having only had one experience of it the choice is slightly based on memory with a pinch of 'positive marking'. It is also perhaps worth noting that Sheikra left me pretty nonplussed, which was a shame.
  12. There are rumours coming through that Universal have greenlit the Wizarding World Phase II expansion today - a 'watch this space' is most certainly warranted. I promise, I will eventually get around to making a Universal Orlando thread
  13. Also, off-ride experience should be considered too. Tidal adds much more to the park if you're just walking around and not riding than Saw does. Tidal makes Amity as an area work, and cements the feeling in that centre of the park. Saw does nothing to add to the park in that way.
  14. There's also one on that massive pole in the arena, right at the top on the little ball thing.
  15. Goodbye CCR. Fun times were had by all; today is very sad
  16. I'm going to laugh so hard when that entire drop gets a trim put on it I305 style.Manta looks sweet though, I've been following that the past few weeks and it looks like it'll be a quality coaster. I sort of wish they'd gone with a new name/style though; the one Manta is so different to the other that it seems a bit odd calling them the same thing to me but ho hum.
  17. Love how Tidal is still beating Saw anyway
  18. A solid ride of quality and reliability. Smooth, forceful and intense - what's not to love?
  19. Just saw that on Facebook, hilarious Must be the most serious press release / public statement they've ever done!

Does Santa Exist? Is There a Santa Claus? 1. No known species of reindeer can fly. BUT there are 300,000 species of living organisms yet to be classified, and while most of these are insects and germs, this does not completely rule out flying reindeer (which only Santa has ever seen.) 2. There are 2 billion children (persons under 18) in the world. BUT since Santa doesn't (appear) to handle the Muslim, Hindu, Jewish and Buddhist children, that reduces the workload to 15% of the total-378 million according to Population Reference Bureau. At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that's 91.8 million homes. One presumes there's at least one good child in each. 3. Santa has 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 822.6 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with good children, Santa has 1/1000th of a second to park, hop out of the sleigh, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left, get back up the chimney, get back into the sleigh and move on to the next house. Assuming that each of these 91.8 million stops are evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be false but for the purposes of our calculations we will accept),we are now talking about .78 miles per household, a total trip of 75-1/2 million miles, not counting stops to do what most of us must do at least once every 31 hours, plus feeding and etc. This means that Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second, 3,000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man-made vehicle on earth, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a poky 27.4 miles per second-a conventional reindeer can run, tops, 15 miles per hour. 4. The payload on the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium-sized lego set (2 pounds), the sleigh is carrying 321,300 tons, not counting Santa, who is invariably described as overweight. On land, conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting that "flying reindeer" (see point #1) could pull TEN TIMES the normal amount, we cannot do the job with eight, or even nine. We need 214,200 reindeer. This increases the payload-not even counting the weight of the sleigh-to 353,430 tons. Again, for comparison-this is four times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth. 5. 353,430 tons traveling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance-this will heat the reindeer up in the same fashion as spacecrafts re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer will absorb 14.3 QUINTILLION joules of energy. Per second. Each. In short, they will burst into flame almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them, and create deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer team will be vaporized within 4.26 thousandths of a second. Santa, meanwhile, will be subjected to centrifugal forces 17,500.06 times greater than gravity. A 250-pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of his sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force. In conclusion: If Santa ever DID deliver presents on Christmas Eve, he's dead now.
  21. Long shot, but does anyone have a link to / saved geek folder of the old Behind The Scenes pictures from ATA? I loved the Nemesis and Air ones, but sadly they went down in the days before I started saving anything interesting, rare or noteworthy I'd love to see those galleries again; someone must have saved them? Or anyone seen them mentioned recently around TTF?
  22. Um, yes it is. Have you actually been through that final helix? Or the zero-g when it's been raining? Yeah, I'd call them pretty intense. Seriously? I actually cannot see how you could say that in seriousness. Saw fails to deliver anything at all, let alone more than Inferno.
  23. Past experience does a lot to shape our perceptions of things in advance. If you walked up to a greasy spoon, you would know what kind of food to expect even though you hadn't tasted it yet, wouldn't you? Well to me, that past experience coupled with what we have seen so far tell me that Swarm will be an excellent ride. It will without doubt take the top spot as best ride on park, which I must agree with Mark is a title currently held by Inferno. As I said a few weeks back, people are constantly campaigning for solid, quality, reliable rides without a gimmick, and we already have one. Seems like people are just never satisfied eh And I know this is going off topic but once people get on the offensive in Inferno's direction I just have to stop them; if Inferno had been named differently it wouldn't receive half the stick it does. All this crap about 'Nemesis Inferior' is such a load of ****, if it had been named without a connection it would have just been another B&M Invert, judged on it's own merits. Of which it happens to have many. [/rant]So yes, a B&M 1-2 pairing for best in the park in the shape of Swarm and Inferno. Delightful
  24. You know, looking at all these pictures of beautiful B&M track going up makes me remember those olden days of yore when we were speculating about what LC12 would be - and the people who said there wouldn't be another B&M in this country for a very long time. Thinking of that then seeing this makes me happy
