  1. The launch is fine, it's just everything the follows makes it one of the worst coasters ever made... I'll always remember that survey woman we encountered Mark, and her reaction to our destestable 1 rating we gave Baco...
  2. Well, when the ride officially opens next year, it might still just be a concrete tower... But in 2016, it'll be finished, and if Fluch and Schlange's towers are anything to go by, it's gonna be lush...
  3. You mean a Screaming Squirrel? Yeah, there's a reason Gardaland spited theirs, it was dreadful... Agreed, if the park is to actually move forward, it needs more things that are actually different to the majority of the rides there... Or somewhere guests could actually chill out for a bit, perhaps via some form of transport to get there, and it could have some animals and stuff, like a farm...
  4. There are bag dumps/bins in the queue for the bags to be placed whilst you go through the maze...
  5. Great photoshopped image of a ride that apparently doesn't exist then...
  6. Would love to know why you believe that would be the case... The seat block moving up and down slowly wouldn't be the absolute cause of metal cracking, indeed, one would hope that the designers of the ride would be taking steps to ensure that that is not a potential problem... But given that I can't actually find any information on the ride or indeed the manufacturer, I would say this is an unlikely candidate...
  7. Considering the quality of the theming on both Ghost and Sub Terra (internal for that one, obviously), it's strange that Merlin don't seemingly want to try and push on into dark ride side of things on a much larger scale... Then again, I wouldn't trust Merlin to keep a large scale dark ride in working order for more than the first 5 minutes of it opening...
  8. Gotta love Asian parks, they look weird and wonderful...
  9. Baco might be the only one that does close early, due to the fireworks in the bay next door... It is of course, no loss to anyone...
  10. No idea on the mazes, but they're European so will probably be decent by the standards people set out... Staggered openings occur a LOT, it's awful... Baco, Tutuki Splash and Sesame Street open from opening, then the likes of Khan and Shambhala at around 10:30-11:00, then the rest of the park from about Midday... The Fastrack queue when I went last year was never ever busy, even on a weekend... As for rides, at first just follow what's open in the park as it opens, as you'll be walking straight onto these things anyway (bar Hurakan Condor, so maybe aim to get there for opening)... A BIG suggestion is to check when Templo del Feugo opens for the day, and then arrive about 30 minutes prior to that to ensure you get on the first showing... That does have Express, but even with that you can end up waiting a long time, best to get it done quickly, even if it is amazing...

    Phantasialand in October

The value of the hotel is amazing stuff, given that it's one of the most expensive on-the-gate parks in Germany at €45 each... I agree that Night Hawk is terrible and needs removing quickly, given the space it uses so badly could be used to a much greater effect by a park that tends to squeeze in rides throughout, with Chiapas being a perfect example... Hopefully once the Mystery area addition is completed in 3017, they can move on to working on that building and turning into something that truly fits the park's more recent additions...
  12. Fungle Safari closed in 2008, that'll be why Fish wasn't moved there when it reopened after the move...
  13. So next year we're getting Fish moved for a second time with a retheme... This is top tier theme parking right here... Also, was Scorpion Express really a success? Given that Chessie's figures don't tend to fluciate wildly, and a lot of visitors probably didn't turn up last year because the park was dreadful and pointless...
  14. This is correct, given that I'm still here
  15. God it's not even closed season and everyone's seemingly obsessed with Top Spins again... *hibernates*
  16. If only there were other parks that are cheap and easy to get to which were getting investment if people are bored with what the UK are presenting...
  17. Or indeed, ANYWHERE in Germany...
  18. Let's be honest here, Mean Streak doesn't need rain to be painful, it does a perfectly good job of that in nice weather...
  19. Will the ride queues be shorter though? Where will those who would normally be queuing for the mazes go if there's no standby one? 5 mazes, that usually gain 2 hours worth of queue... So that's another couple of thousand now roaming the park instead of being in one place... Here's an article about Disney forcing people to use Fastpass+ on Midway Mania in Florida which is pretty much the same issue Thorpe are having, only that it's available to everyone: http://www.themeparktourist.com/news/20141008/29380/5-questions-raised-disney-s-newest-fastpass-test-disney-s-hollywood-studios
  20. You could, I do remember some people who went to Thorpe for Saw's opening day refused such an offer (though it was return tickets as they had no MAP) and wanted tickets to go to Towers and they were not going to visit again anytime soon... If you dislike the park so much, don't visit, regardless of any bribes you might receive via complaining...
  21. I get the feeling it's a picture from the past, rather than current operations... Besides, it rarely ran 3 trains over Halloween because it kept stopping at lift 2... The system just couldn't take the cold and the constant change in running operation...
  22. And that's no Fastrack whatsoever, whilst pushing the rides to get the highest throughputs possible... Makes a bigger difference to every single guest, rather than making that quick pound by overselling to the impatient masses...
  23. Hansa first did it with Fluch because they got delayed due to snow and general weather being crap... They've decided it's probably best to do it with the others (Schlange was unfinished when I went in it's opening year) to ensure that there's no worry of the weather being awful again and delaying projects (they are on the north coast)... As an aside, here's what Fluch's tower looked like during construction: Pretty similar situation to now right? Here's the current state of it: I think that when finished, Karnan will look just as amazing... Besides, they'll probably be painting it over the course of next year...
  24. Bear in mind that the final goal of Reserve n Ride is for it to be on EVERY ride (or at least, major attractions in addition to the coasters), is where the system will fall down... S'all well and good being able to book a timeslot on one thing, but then what do you do in the future in this queueless utopia Thorpe are trying to acheive? Everyone else will be going to ride the same limited number of attractions that aren't on the reserve list whilst they wait... Imagine if over Fright Nights all the mazes AND coasters were on the system... So that 2 hour wait for Cabin in the Woods is limited to what? A few flats? Where will everyone else be? The flats as well... So what else can you do at Thorpe, given you can't queue up for another maze or coaster in that time? It's such a flawed system when you look at what they want the final aim to be...
  25. It's basically the Ultimate... Looks crap...
