Mark and Chris's Satisfactual Florida trip
The shops are shops... Not shows...I'm... confused as to your point... The only show inside at Hogsmede is Ollivanders... The rest are just shops...

The shops are small for realism I believe... Unfortunately, practically was kinda missed out by Ms Rowling...

The Big Bad Movie Topic
Bit late on it, as been out for a while...But still <3It's the opening bit of music that really makes the advert... Such a chilling piece of music...This will truly be an epic ending to one of the things that has become such a part of many of our lives... Cannot wait...

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Trim 'raped'?Well... That's a new one...Besides, B&M trim brakes? They are a very different kettle of fish and the only one that actually uses it to a high degree of ruining the ride is Silver Star... I doubt people have to worry about such an obvious massive effect on our lives that a trim brake might be put onto the ride...

Rainbow Magicland
Lead to believe that it has opened it's gates to visitors for the first time today...Whilst official opening isn't till the 26th... It's still an exciting time for this brand new park...

Parks, Rides And Coaster News
You are Robb Alvey and I claim my 5 pounds! And this goes about the same speed as Rita... It could still well be rough... This just doesn't look... Interesting... The balance of actual layout is random... The figure is only designed with being a marker in mind... It just an absolute random concuction of ideas thrown together...All for experience rides but... At the end it's still a roller coaster, and you don't expect it to go at speeds I could walk faster than in most sections...

Chessington Trip Reports
I don't...But since I don't smoke, my opinion obviously won't be valid...Not sure how the staff deal with them though... Not seen much at Chessie but hopefully it's not like Towers where it's not enforced...

Apparently the speed is 60mph...

It's testing and...Well... If that's the speed it's gonna go at I'm glad I didn't get excited...

The Blue Barnacle (Previously Black Buccaneer)
I dunno... Blade is crap and I don't go on it :mellow:But since it doesn't require adults at the ends of each row... I doubt it takes as long as that... Since they allow those over 1.3m on the edges regardless of age...

Mark and Chris's Satisfactual Florida trip
But since both lifts can have their speed changed for the differing masses by computers, why should that cause such a hoo-hah if they were dispatched at the same time?THIS is the point being made... Why prevent simultaneous dispatch when surely there is a way to have it work when it does it anyways?

Mark and Chris's Satisfactual Florida trip
^I can see where Mark is coming from in regards to some similarities to Thorpe... Whilst it has amazing theming, it is rather flat and has a rather selective atmosphere, especially around the coasters...And Mark never went on Duelling Dragons, so he cannot judge on the old queue... And really? They can't dispatch simultaneously? That makes even less sense... I doubt that the system is THAT flawed and I'm sure I've ridden it with simultaneous dispatching, only because of the different lengths of the track to the lifts they don't get there at the same time...

To be fair, the idea was sound, just someone cocked up in the manufacture...And the ride pays for it

^Peter said LIKE air... Which is (according to rcdb) 46.6mph...Besides, it'll hit it's top speed for what? A handful of seconds? Like every other ride in the world? Does it matter that much?

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
This is arguable actually... It's a definite assumption, and is quite a regular occurance in such equations mainly as it helps simplify the equation and usually won't cause toooooo much of an effective difference...Using both an actual value of velocity for the lift hill and assuming it is zero are valid methods...

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
There are more factors to consider than just using a suvat equation...Gotta take the weight of the train, air resistance and a few other bits and bobs as well when we're working out the actual speed... Constant acceleration is a decent enough assumption, but very rarely do rides do that...Conservation of Energy and using Potential and Kinetic Energy equations could well give us another answer...
