  1. Urgh, just when I thought Merlin couldn't sink any lower... Seriously though, what an awful idea.
  2. Coaster

    Logger's Leap

It's at Thorpe Park, that's what's up with it
  3. Coaster

    Legoland

A refund or just free return tickets though? Because the latter isn't really good enough if people are only visiting on a one off visit and have travelled from a distance.
  4. The difference in my opinion is that Slammer offers a unique experience to the world whereas Samurai is just one example of many Topscans across the world, and a poor one at that.
  5. Coaster

    Legoland

I hope they offered guests compensation!
  6. Surely it's not worth keeping Samurai? It's only a Top Scan and it runs on a dire cycle compared to other examples of the ride. It seems to be costing the park much more than it's worth in terms of what it offers, I think it has had it's day to be honest.
  7. 10 million (Nick Land) is quite a large investment IMO, especially for a park not owned by a huge company.
  8. Triple post (naughty naughty), but there was a BPB Land Rover outside the park a few days ago which said "Project 2017" on it - given that previous projects have been "project 94" (PMBO) and "project 2000" (Valhalla), this could be something exciting!
  9. That's not good at all, it's quite saddening to see 5pm closes in the summer holidays to be honest.
  10. No, posting a construction update via YouTube is not self promotion, it's sharing a construction update.I do wish that some people would be a bit more grateful when people go out of their way to get updates.
  11. They closed because of rain?
  12. Yes, the term experience sums up the attraction much better than "maze" did as it is interactive and involves hands on activities unlike Thorpe's Halloween mazes. Also because it's not a maze!
  13. I'm not sure how I missed this, but I disagree. The start of this season saw a huge number of rides closed, last season during Fright Nights there were lots of days with five (or more) rides shut, and in general there is usually at least one ride closed all day (usually Slammer) and various other breakdowns - which do happen, but they shouldn't happen as much as they do at Thorpe. With regards to Merlin having good opening hours, during October Halloween events they do, but the rest of the time I disagree with that, especially at Alton Towers where the opening hours are dismal. Of course I enjoy these parks, I enjoy the rides and various other things about them which is why it frustrates me so much to see them operating so poorly, and whilst as a MAP holder I can just go back if I have a poor experience, the GP cannot and I don't think I have had more than five days in total at Merlin parks which I would have considered good value for money had I been paying even half price for entry. As for people telling me not to visit this summer with the poor opening times, I'm not... ... I'm at BPB instead, 8pm close everyday!
  14. Actually, for your information I have visited far less so far this season than in previous years. It's not worth the effort with the mediocre experience they offer most of the time.I'm not "merlin bashing" most of the time, but as someone who lives in the UK I like to support the parks within it - I wouldn't complain about things if I didn't care.
  15. And people wonder why I moan about Thorpe...
  16. I finally got on Skyforce today. Amazing ride, I got it flipping on the first go (seat 1) but the second go was more difficult as I was on an inside seat, however I did get some amazing hang-time. Aside from the throughput (which wasn't an issue today as the park was really quiet) I think the ride is a great addition to the park, and the area is finished off really well with a good soundtrack and pre-show videos. Great ride!
  17. Yes but I enjoy visiting theme parks regularly too much to not own a MAP, and one theme park trip (no matter how good) doesn't win over a whole year in my opinion.
  18. I wish! Sadly it's not that simple to go abroad just for a theme park. No need to rub salt in the wound!
  19. Yes I do know what Hyperbole is thank you, but it just seemed strange to say "well at least it isn't closing at 4:30" as if we should be grateful for 6pm.
  20. Why would it be closing at 4:30 during summer holidays?
  21. This shows that parks which strive on being the best are the ones that excel, third place for a small park such as this is really impressive.
