Fright Nights 2014
I am waiting for the official reveal, but so far I am disappointed with the concept.

Hex
Hex has had some fantastic changes made to it! When I visited a few days ago the audio in the vault was much, much louder creating an amazing atmosphere. Also, there was a thick smoke effect in the Octagon room, as well as some new lighting throughout, including strobes. Very impressed!

Fright Nights 2014
Agree 100% with this.

Alton Towers General Discussion
Nice to see Nemesis back on the ERT, but it's a bit strange that they have removed Oblivion.

Park Music
WTTP Stealthside was at a higher pitch than usual yesterday, like it was a few years back.

Fright Nights 2014
It might look like that, but nobody pays full price for a BPB season pass. They are on offer for £89 in December, January and February most years as they are valid for a park season, therefore you have to buy them at the beginning. It seems a strange pricing structure, but I can only guess that they don't want people to buy them and not get a full year.

Fright Nights 2014
I have always thought Fright Nights should be free to enter (for MAP/AP holders), and then you pay for a £5 wristband if you want to go into any mazes. I wouldn't like the idea of pay per maze though.

Fright Nights 2014
It is, as an annual pass should mean unlimited entry to the park. £5 was reasonable, but £10 is just too much to ask of someone who has already spent £100+ on the annual pass in the first place.

Colossus
Well I don't think they were, there was nobody batching there.
- Slammer

The Banning Game
Banned for banning yourself!

Colossus
Oops yes I do, I thought they used that for fastrack as well now? (Otherwise where does Reserve and ride go?)
- Slammer
-
Colossus
Colossus was on one train until past 11am with over an hour's queue today, and four rows (yes, four!) blocked off for fastrack. Sort it out Thorpe.

Summer Nights
Just a bit of humour based on the FN price increase.

Slammer
The end seat of every row on Slammer (right hand paddle, not sure about left) was closed off today. Not sure about the reasoning for this. Also found out today that if people lean against the airgates the ride will E - stop, and could possibly do so upside down, which explains why they don't usually batch people into them until the ride is over (although they were today).
- How Busy Is It Going To Be?

Summer Nights
It'll probably be £10 for passholders next year though.

Alton Towers General Discussion
Yesterday the ticket machines broke outside the park, meaning that nobody apart from annual passholders and prebooked tickets could get in for an hour and a half! As well as this, The Smiler did NOT open for ERT, and in fact didn't open until about 10:40am. It then closed once to take a train off, and again to change trains, both whilst I was in the SRQ meaning that it took an hour! Duel also broke down. In light of this, they did extend to 7pm leading to me getting an insane ridecount on Nemesis!

Fright Nights 2014
The trouble is, I do want to visit as I really enjoy Fright Nights, but the price is outrageous.

Fright Nights 2014
Possibly, although it depends as I may not visit 5 times this year. Thorpe are asking too much by getting people to book a long way in advance IMO. Also, it depends on the price. If it turns out to be £40+ then I won't bother.

Fright Nights 2014
Forgot, LWV has two scare attractions, and is open late etc with no extra charge (as far as I know). The issue is that £10 is too much when you have already paid for an annual pass. I visited Fright Nights 5 times last year which cost me £25, this year that would cost me £50 (not going to happen!) so I won't be bothering.

Fright Nights 2014
BPB: Vampire Beach on 31st October at BPB, plus closing at midnight in November, plus live performers at the 10pm closes throughout the summer. Alton Towers: At least one free Scarefest maze. Oakwood: Fireworks, diving show, live stage performers.

Fright Nights 2014
Alton Towers, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Oakwood, Drayton Manor and Adventure Island all open late at certain times of the year for events and do not charge any extra admission for annual passholders! (Although admittedly Alton do charge per maze, which I also disagree with to some extent). Not a good enough excuse.

Fright Nights 2014
I hate this idea of a horror pass. I own an annual pass, so don't expect to have to pay for another pass. Blatantly just a way to justify charging £10 up front (which it isn't) Ultimately forces people to pay more either way Giving out MORE free fastracks! The ratios of fastrack : normal queue were ridiculous last year, I can only dread to think of what they will be like this year! Greed, greed, greed! And they are getting rid of their best maze!
