  1. The exterior? What about the interior?!

Yes, but I don't think we on the Thorpe park fansite represent the views of the majority of the general public who visit Thorpe. I reckon it would be quite a popular addition with most of the park guests - if you don't like topspins, don't ride it!
  3. It's still hard to believe that Thorpe Park - one of the UK's top theme/amusement parks have not even bothered to cover the hideous frame at the top of the lift hill like it was at Cypress gardens! And I agree with what is being said, something about how it looks at Cypress gardens looks much better than it does at Thorpe. (Other than the frame.) Maybe it is the fact that (as far as I can see) you didn't walk through the ugly structure at cypress to get to other rides like you do at Thorpe - usually getting dripped on as you do so. Just another point, the drainage around the Storm surge area is awful. I remember having to navigate a massive pool of water on a rainy day - caused by both the ride and the rain. If Storm surge was in a remote area of the park then it would look okay, but right at the front it stands out far too much - for the wrong reasons. I really think that Thorpe should improve it by making the changes I stated in my post a few above this one.

I have said this a few times but I'll say it again. Thorpe park should install a Topspin - but a well themed one with water fountains - think Ripsaw/Rameses revenge but with better theming.
  5. To be honest Storm Surge would be a fairly decent ride if: - The water in the rafts was sorted - Valhalla hoover anyone? - The FREE water guns in the queueline were fixed - The spinners on the trough were fixed so the ride actually spins - Make it look more themed and less ugly - Cover up the frame at the top of the ride like it was at Cypress Gardens
  6. The toilets at Alton Towers are pretty appauling in my opinion. They need to be updated to look nice and new, and they should be cleaned, de-spidered and generally looked after more often than they are at the moment.

    How do you know?
  8. They wouldn't shut the rest of X-Sector, that would just give people more reason to complain.
  9. Stupid name. That's all I have to say on the matter.
  10. The Swarm backwards is going to be pretty good Although to be honest it does seem strange on a new rollercoaster...
  11. Quite a strange name if I'm honest, although it is still not confirmed. Still, it's better than "The Smiler."
  12. I doubt The Asylum would become permanent what with the failure of Saw Alive - but Asylum could work because it is in a better position (near to the centre of the park) so could be more likely to generate queues. To be honest it won't happen, but I would like it to.
  13. Personally I would prefer the X:/ No Way Out retheme, as long as it was an actual theme, not just an improved clubbing ride.
  14. This is hilarious! Quite clever though to be honest
  15. Tbh if it really does turn out to be the back row(s) of The Swarm being turned backwards then I have mixed views on the matter. But to be honest, I still sincerly doubt it. "BACKWARDS" could still mean X:/No Way Out couldn't it? (The first letter of each word spells Backwards.)
  16. I agree, although the park's entrance has always left a lot to be desired tbh... (Horrendous temporary fencing queueline for tickets and rotting wood on all the entrance buildings, peeling paint etc...) Would benefit greatly from a refurb of the whole entrance plaza in my opinion! As for the new bridge however, !
  17. The Swarm won't have any seats turned backwards! It is a ridiculous suggestion and I feel sure that it will not be the case.
  18. A windseeker is very unlikely to happen at Thorpe. It would have to break or at least be near to Stealth's height to be of any relevance (something which is very unlikely to pass planning permission, at least until after 2016) and doesn't really appeal to Thorpe's target market, as it is not a thrill ride as such, more a fun height observation ride. Personally I think that as long as it included fountain effects and at least a bit of theming (Similar to Rameses or Ripsaw) that a topspin would fit in really well at Thorpe. Quite where though I'm not sure.
  19. I don't like this new system and don't think it will work well. Are they really saying that if you purchase one with your current annual pass then you will only have a few months of use with it? If so then that is appauling, why can't they just issue you with a second card with "Drinks Capsule" written on it that you have to show to the member of staff. And on top of all of that, I don't want a hole punched in my Merlin pass!!!
  20. This is a great advertising method - although a bit weird if you are not a theme park fan and have never heard of SW7. Does anyone else think that there is a lack of PR online though? With The Swarm at Thorpe last year there were loads of videos giving away clues about the ride, but in terms of official ones from Alton Towers regarding SW7 this year, we have had nothing so far. At least they aren't doing another Th13teen though and saying that it will have an age limit etc...
  21. Just a question regarding Zufari - does anyone know the expected capacity/throughput of people per hour that it will have?
  22. Ah that explains it then. Wonder what it will be...
  23. But... We don't even know if "Evolution" is an X:/ No Way Out refurb or not. We have only had one clue so far. Whilst it is likely to be a refurb or X:/NWO, we don't know yet.
  24. Looks amazing! That inversion will be crazy, twisting through another one at the same time. But seriously, they have only done that much track?!
  25. It's going to be amazing - but I am having a hard time picturing 16 seater trains on a layout as compact as that.
