  1. The absolute limit is 50mph, but anything from around 30 - 50 can cause a problem depending on the direction.Generally it will be open wherever possible on days with high winds, but they will close it if the wind rises and open it again if it drops.

No, I enjoy them for the raucous & bumpy nature as well as the nostalgia aspect, they are still some of the best coasters the UK has to offer IMO.Regarding the "rickety" perception, they aren't glass smooth, but then in my view wooden coasters aren't supposed to be, I've only been on one 'modern' woodie (Megafobia) but it's still raucous and bumpy in its nature.

That's what makes them so good!Nash is still brilliant although it could do with its old trains (and dispatch times!) back. The public don't have any issue with the wooden coasters, the queues often out-do the steel coasters.

There's nothing wrong with this supposed "Blackpool" interpretation, five fantastic wooden coasters which despite being old are still popular with the public and enthusiasts alike! Regarding SW8, a wooden coaster would be great, but I don't think it will happen.
  5. The bridge should play the full original entrance soundtrack, which would be very effective with the views of rides as you walk in - chart music would still suit the dome though IMO. At the end of the day the bridge could play the old "end of the day" theme.
  6. The Amazu treetop thing is just a few bridges and a slide.
  7. It depends on the disorder really. Some people may not be able to cope with queueing for a sustained period of time, however they may have better days than others, or there may be some queues that they find easier to wait in than others. That is just one example of many, it is insensitive to accuse people of trying to abuse the system when there are several reasons why they may be able to queue at some times but not others.
  8. Just get rid of the thing! It runs awfully anyway these days, haven't had it on a good setting for years.
  9. Do they? I read somewhere (think it was on here) that they haven't actually been very busy this past week, but that queues are building up due to slow operations. Is that true?
  10. Blimey that sounds worse than BPB was today! And that's bad! Why are UK theme parks so incompetent at everything these days?
  11. What a complete imbacile. People like that ruin theme parks for everyone else.
  12. Forcing people to wear the headsets is absolute stupidity.
  13. Ah, apologies, but yeah it's 10am - 8pm next weekend. My advice would be to make sure you get on everything you can, there are lots of great rides at BPB including Valhalla & The Big One, the four big wooden coasters (Wild Mouse, Grand National, Big Dipper and Nickelodeon Streak) and the dark rides, as well as the other coasters and flat rides. Also, if you get there for 10am it is worth noting that only a few rides are open until 10:30am, but I would recommend getting on Nickelodeon Streak first (it opens at 10) as the queue can get very long later in the day due to it only running one train. Hope this helps.
  14. It is advertised as 10am until 8pm today, Sunday and Monday, then 10am - 5pm for the rest of the week. If it rains then be aware that they will probably close early as they have no concept of customer service.
  15. Closing one hour earlier than advertised on the website/at the entrance... Welcome to Blackpool Pleasure Beach 2016.
  16. If they said 10am, why release them early?
  17. No, actually it has nothing to do with this site, just a general rant.
  18. I definitely remember the cattlepen speaker playing the main theme quite a few years back (probably around 2008 - 9ish), it sounded much better in my opinion.
  19. That's great to hear! Hopefully they will fix the station audio - the dispatch music used to sound great.
  20. The "I know something no-one else knows from an inside source about such-and-such new ride" thing.
  21. So Sub Terra lasted three and a half years. What a waste of an investment.
  22. I find it crazy that they have closed so many family rides. The park's target audience is families, yet there is hardly anything for people who have outgrown Cbeebies Land but who don't want to/can't go on the big coasters - I read several complaints about this on Alton's Facebook page over the weekend and frankly I'm not surprised. It wouldn't surprise me if they lose a lot of custom from families this year as there are simply not enough rides open for them.
  23. I've just read online that the entire Entertainments team (the street actors including the pirate on the boat and the people in blue who greet you) have all gone with the exception of Cbeebies Land! This surely can't be true?
