  1. What happens when the park is open until after 8pm? Does Silver Star close early?
  2. It seems like it might turn out to be yet another case of mis-marketing something causing it to be less successful than it should (and could) be. Getting people back into the park is great and I think the marketing may work in that respect, but how long will the success last if people are expecting a "new roller coaster?"
  3. Yes the Dino Chase is the old Flying Frog coaster, but I believe it has been repainted. Stunning stuff coming from Paultons on the theming front, I wonder if it's been done in-house or by an external company?
  4. It also says "Mind gap" instead of "Mind the gap."
  5. For me, the issue with the building is that it's too similar to other themes that have already been done at Thorpe. Saw's station, Swarm's church and Tidal's station are all destructed/run-down type themes - fantastic theming pieces (well, maybe not Saw's warehouse) but all quite similar IMO. As for the red shed, I just hope it won't be visible from the ride area when it opens as it could completely ruin the effect they are trying to create with the train station.
  6. I don't expect to change his opinion of my posts (frankly I'm not that fussed), but there are better ways of disagreeing with people than telling them to "go drown in the Thorpe lake," or "I hope the big one burns with you on it."Having those comments (amongst many others) hurled at me over a theme park ride is what has riled me up.
  7. If he actually acknowledged that he was in the wrong and said that for himself then I would be more inclined to let it drop. When you behave like that, "don't bother contacting me again" doesn't quite solve it IMO.He seems to think he can dictate to me when and where I can or can't post, and what I'm allowed to post (nothing remotely negative about the new ride so it seems).
  8. Hence why I sent Ryan a PM like he asked me to. I mean what sort of logic is there in telling someone to take the argument to PM, then telling them not to contact them when they do? I have spoken to a team member.
  9. The purpose of this topic is literally to bring up things that bother you.
  10. Well that's funny, I sent him a PM this morning and he told me "not to bother contacting him again."
  11. I understand that people have different views, the issue I have is when people just tell me to "shut up", "stop moaning" and the like rather than actually debating which is what forums are meant to be for!As for "don't treat people how you don't want to be treated" - find me anywhere I have verbally abused someone because I disagree with their opinion.
  12. I have suggested that he uses the ignore button which would prevent him from seeing my posts, but it would seem that he is incapable of finding itIf you get that worked up over reading anything negative about Thorpe then I think you have a problem, it's only a theme park at the end of the day.
  13. What decision? I never actually said I was leaving.I'm not being chased off the forum by you.
  14. If I do choose to leave the forum it'll be because I want to, not because you or anyone else has told me to.
  15. I think there is little point of me remaining a member of this fanbase when I'm not even allowed to voice my own opinions without having a verbal attack launched at me. To be honest I'm fed up of the blind fanboyism displayed by a minority on here, it either seems to be a case of telling me to "shut up" or bringing up other parks, almost in a desperate attempt to prove that Thorpe is better? People have different opinions on things, I don't go and launch an attack on everyone who defends things Thorpe do that I disagree with, so why should I (and others) have to put up with a ton of rubbish for daring to have an opinion that someone else doesn't agree with?
  16. Where do I have to look for the final clue? Just the home page of Minds Wanted? EDIT: Found it!
  17. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that they are throwing so much money at a dark ride. They needed something different, and considering the lack of high budget dark rides in the UK in recent years it's good that they are investing in one. However, I do have concerns about it. Something broken into sections is likely to require lots of staff - meaning that running costs will probably be high. Sub Terra pulled in crowds in its first season but then its popularity plummeted and it became a burden to the park - I just hope the same thing doesn't happen here. If a £30/£40 million pound attraction flops then Thorpe will have a major problem. Hopefully it'll be good enough to sustain popularity over multiple seasons - I'm still in the "not sure if it will be good" category but I don't think that is unjustified considering some of their most recent investments. I'm not "moaning for the sake of it."

They are investing in an existing attraction to bring it back up to it's original high standard, surely that has to be a good thing?
  19. What a lovely run-down brick building. Still, at least the floor paving is nice.
  20. A 60 seat train carriage sounds like the bus thing on Shrek (although I'm not sure - haven't been on it). I'm not sold on it yet, and the name is uncreative to say the least.
  21. Careful posting anything negative about Thorpe on here, it doesn't seem to be allowed and is punishable by having Ryan throw abuse at you.
  22. It sounds as if VR headsets will be used throughout the ride, which could possibly show each person something different. If this turns out to be a "virtual reality dark-ride" relying on the headsets, then I have no interest in it whatsoever, I'd rather they built an actual dark ride. Guess we'll find out tomorrow!
  23. Urgh! Wonder where they will get a train carriage from?
