The removal of flats is not good as with the layout of Alton Towers, each "area" can become very busy at times and they need as many support rides as possible - now with Ripsaw removed from Forbidden Valley I can imagine that queues for the remaining attractions will get worse, especially if Sub Terra stays closed as well. I can understand Ripsaw leaving the park but it should be replaced with another flat rather than just leaving the ground empty (like Submission).

TowersStreet is reporting that Ripsaw has been dismantled including the queueline and theming, which is now residing in the car park.

Vampire's old entrance looked a mess last year, going by the photo it looks much better now.

Don't read this the wrong way, because it is great that they are finally starting to sort out some of the appearance issues with the park.But, the park shouldn't have been allowed to get into such a bad state! There have been rides closed due to unsafe structures, theming knocked down due to neglect and the park generally has a run-down feel (apart from the areas which have recently been done-up such as Market Square which looks great). Repainting an entrance and removing a queueline is a good start but there are many more issues at Chessington which I can only hope will finally be addressed. -
Scorpion Express still wasn't new though despite being advertised as such, the theming had been changed (well, removed) but it is still the same ride. VR headsets would be a new experience, if that turns out to be what happens to Air - but advertising something as a new ride/attraction is very different to a new experience IMO. Personally the VR idea doesn't really appeal to me, and no doubt there will be an extra charge?

It's still the same coaster regardless of whether they change its name or paint it a different colour, it's just like when they renamed Spinball, put a plastic Sonic figure outside it and called it a new coaster - no!

Confirmation from the park's Twitter page that The Smiler will be keeping the same name.

Starting with the positives, it is great to see that areas of the park will recieve TLC - Alton is starting to look tired in a number of areas so repainting and refurbishment is good! "Changes to the lineup" doesn't sound good, especially when they are having an extended 2015/2016 closed season. I appreciate that sometimes rides have to be closed if they are having major work done on them, but hopefully it will only be one or two rides rather than the rumoured six. Also, Air being rethemed does not count as a new attraction.

Chessington Buzz have picked up on the fact that the queueline for Safari Skyway has been removed.
