I had totally forgotten about Ratatouille too! as a dark ride it really is hard to know until it's open but if it is up to the standards of the other uses of that hardware then it could be by far the best thing coming nest year. It's seems to have been in development for forever so it should be good by now!

Although nothing of any note about what will actually be in cbeebies land seems to have been found out yet they have announced it's not opening until May which suggests they are doing more than the bare minimum, as do these construction pics on TS.

I don't really understand the ferocity of some of the doing down of 7 Dwarfs before anyone has even seem the damn thing. I think it looks stunning when taken in context of the area that has been created around it and the ride concept with the swing cars sounds like it will be a brilliant thing to me, possibly with a feeling akin to a good old suspended coaster. It looks like it will be in large part a dark ride with a coaster element and I've seen nothing to suggest that any of it won't be up to the usual Disney standard. That sort of thing does it for me. I couldn't give the tiniest crap about the Harry Potter franchise so that development is of less interest even though I'm sure the rides and themeing will be as stunning as ever. Helix is the most exciting thing for me out there at the moment, it looks sickeningly good. UK developments seem very thin on the ground this year. With Merlin having a a close to zero investment year all round it seems like it would have been a perfect opportunity for one of the independents to come out with a big thrill attraction and steal a slice from the big boy while they are dozing, unfortunately for them and for us that seems to be an opportunity entirely missed. Unless I've not noticed something somewhere? Is there really nothing on this island worth worrying about this year?
-
It was a few years ago I know, but I used to get a Tussauds annual pass for about £60, it included all UK attractions (inc London Eye etc), all European attractions (Heide Park etc), parking was free for all and the fastrack system was free to all ala Disney. The closest package to have something like the same experience now costs £500. Progress eh? If it was just in line inflation it wouldn't have touched £100.
-
## VIP coming soon? More people with unlimited fastrack then. Yay!

Yes, I'd have thought it would be something like that, they're not armatures and they have written H&S processes to follow and sign off. I would imagine the heaters had some sort of manufacturers recommended guidelines covering how close any item can safely be and that's what they'd have done. Either something hasn't been set up right and moved closer or the manufacturers guidelines were wrong. If it is not either of those things and they simply hadn't thought about it then they are idiots, but I'd find it really hard to think that would be the case with the amount of people that would have looked at it at some point during set up and operation. That would be a staggering amount of idiots!

I want to see the best of the cracker jokes you get over the next couple of days. Here's a terrible starter... What's the best present to give at Christmas? A broken drum. You just can't beat it!
-
'All the animals have been evacuated from the zoo' turned out to mean... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/10532393/Santas-Grotto-blaze-closes-Chessington-theme-park.html 2 Reindeer. You got any source for confirmation of that confirmation? EDIT - scrub that... http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news/topstories/10894975.Chessington_World_of_Adventures_fire__caused_by_heater_/?ref=var_0 If that turns out to be the true cause I doubt insurance would even cover it as it is their own fault, so don't expect any cafe replacement or amazing (well funded) job on the fix up!

Banned for being too slow at banning, so ending up banning the wrong person.

This was something I forgot to mention, the ride staff were mostly terrible. Speaking between themselves in their own language whist barely acknowledging customers, standing at the ride entrance to collect the tickets with a fag hanging out of their mouths (including on childrens rides), on their phone while running and supervising moving rides. Really very poor.
-
If that does turn out to be the case isn't that bad news for vampire? In my head trying to piece the builing together the brake run/workshop are is above the shop, is that right?
-
Concerned as to what they would be describing as a 'row of shops'. Hopefully they just mean the facade of the side of bubbles and the cafe, if they do mean the actual shop then the fire has spread all the way along the front to bubble and vamp exit. Am I right in thinking the 'plant room' would mean the area behind the little buggy park/bat cave? Would make sense as it that is roughly between cafe and bubble building. Either way, if the plant room has gone up and the ride itself as damaged I think it is safe to say we have next years SBNO attraction lined up! As for the mention of the heaters, here they are (themeUK) And the decorations... (BBJ) They don't seem excessive, dense, or likely to crowd the heaters, but I suppose any one thing actually touching the front of them could easily start smoldering and build into this.

Safe to say, cafe is no more...

Apparently I live (on the outskirts) of the 10th most desirable places to live in the uk! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25474188 It's not bad where I am, but if that is true then the UK as a whole is in a much worse state than I imagined!
-
Oh, sorry. Is it your site he's referring to? I didn't mean to sound so dismissive. Maybe I'm just being pedantic but that tweet from the fire brigade is utter balls though, 'all animals' have clearly not been 'evacuated'. The sealines and at a push maybe the big cats will have been moved a very small distance.
-
The usually reliable scaretour seem to think it is Hocus Pocus, but no one else does so I'll presume they are wrong. (BBC) That's a big area, so Creaky/Bubbles sounds right. Also, they would not have 'evacuated all the animals', whichever little fanboy site that is is plainly just making stuff up.

News just in... Reports suggest a suspect named locally as 'professor burp' has been seen running from the scene with a box of matches. The only fatalities so far are thought to be a large family of bright yellow static ducks, a spokesman for the local duck community commented "QUACK" 600 times in 3 minuets. No one else cared about the loss.

The general lack of JoshC and Benin in these results is an outrage! What's wrong with you people?! Even if two of my crowns may have slipped I'm still well grateful for my quality posts 1st, so thanks for that!

Went on Monday, had a great time. Love the food and drink they put on, reminds me of skiing holiday times. the sausages are amazing and we worked our way through as many varieties of mulled wine and cider s we could find. Honey mead was our favorite. We didn't do many rides, primarily because of the crazy prices. I really don't understand it, I'm sure they know what they are doing and have done the maths but most of them are going round basically empty most of the time. If they charged less I'm sure they'd be full and overall make more money? Was near some of the kids rides at 3 or 4 quid a go for a while and saw no one go on them at all, if they were a quid a pop they'd make thousands. As it was we only bothered with a couple of bits, my favorite being the 'indoor' coaster, I'm a sucker for a spinner and thought that was a particularly good one even if the inside of the mountain was a bit lacking. We would have gone on a lot more, and spent a lot more over all, if the prices were at least reasonable. We meant to go back and try the pirates walk through thing but never did, anyone know what goes on in there? We also went for a walk along Southbank which has a Christmas market. If you're a fan of the food and drink side of Winter Wonderland I recommend there instead. Identical products on offer (in exactly the same stalls), but a lot of it is much cheaper. There is also a Carousel if you are desperate for a ride of some sort!

Rocky mountain Construction and Vekoma Partner up!
pluk replied to EC!'s topic in General Discussion
This could led to some very exciting developments. I've always wondered if the lack of modern woodies in the UK was partly due to a lack of anyone really trying to sell them over here. Hopefully this will lead to a push for sales and a deal that is attractive enough for UK park to go for it.
