  1. If you want to get wet, back row, 5th seat in. Learnt that through experience It got 4 today just to clarify, didn't quite make number 5.
  2. My first meet was definitely a memorable one and for all the right reasons. I'm really, really glad I came today and those still who haven't been brave enough to do theirs yet or haven't got round to it, do it. I was so nervous at the beginning of the day but I felt by the end I had settled right in. It's probably the most fun I've had at a theme park in a long while and it was really great meeting all of you. Sorry I didn't get to have full blown conversations with every single one of you, and those I did, such as all the people at the meal, Jack, Matt etc, thank you. Hopefully in the not too far distant future I shall get to know all of you better as I will definitely be attending more meets. There was many highlights today, especially at the meal afterwards which I'm sure you will be filled in on at some point Massive thanks to Peaj too for organising the event and I look forward to seeing/speaking to you all again soon!
  3. ALL BY MYSELF, DON'T WANNA BE, ALL BY MYSELF - yeah this bench is pretty comfy
  4. Ill be setting off in 45 minutes, excitement!
  5. Somewhat apprehensive about tomorrow but excited all the same! This week has seriously gone so slow for me so I'm so glad it's just one more day to wait!
  6. http://www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers/thorpe-park-2-for-1-printable-voucher-2013-1516024 Posted this on HotUKDeals the other day, I can confirm it works as my friends used them last week
  7. I still think I'm half asleep. I read the time as the degrees. And if I had read that properly, 1600 degrees It's shorts weather to a lot of Brits, as soon as the suns out, it's clothes off and everyone acts like it's 30 degrees
  8. Not sure if this has been posted about already, but is there a possibility of a feature which gives you a notification when you're quoted/mentioned? I sometimes post in threads and forget to come back to them to see I've been quoted or had a reply to my post.
  9. Loving the guy in the Smiler hoodie looking at the construction
  10. 16 degrees! Hopefully the parks not heaving Might try and get away with wearing shorts
  11. I don't think I've ever posted in this thread either, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Thought it was about time to do a post here. My name's Alex and I'm a uni student. I've been fascinated by the theme park industry ever since I was a small child. It all started when I was about 5 years old, I was crying because I didn't want to go on Dragon River (at the time). After queuing for hours it then broke down on us on the first lift hill. We were then escorted off and my parents weren't best pleased to say the least. Other than my interest in theme parks, roller coasters and such, music is a massive aspect of my life.

I agree Luke_A it's frustrating that a song gets sampled and passed off as their own work and they get the recognition, same situation with the whole Flo Rida 'Good Feeling' who sampled Avicii, even though originally Avicii sampled another song but actually recreated the song it self. On the brightside, 'will.I.can't' (produce) is a singles artist and will barely ship any albums so
  13. Why I thought this was on the 22nd I don't know, but thankfully for the lack of my social life this week it doesn't affect me at all so I will still be there, just means I have to wait a day less than expected

Redesigned and reprogrammed around light and sound, the X trains will now speed forwards into tunnels of changing coloured light. Never say never
  15. On another note, so when is Thorpe getting their top spin then I love top spins personally and I think it needs to be at Chessie to balance the park out, I guess maybe I think this because it's really nostalgic for me. When Chessie stopped being the 'thrill park' it was the step up for me for Thorpe. I'll always remember the first time I remember riding it when I was 10 with half of my class from primary school and getting absolutely drenched.
  16. Look at it this way, if you don't ask you don't get. The worst thing is she can say no, if you don't even try you'll never know. [2] Good luck!
  17. The excitement is killing me!

I walked past the queue yesterday several times throughout the day and I never saw the outside queue not full, it's nice to see it's getting some attention from visitors
  20. The tunnel was still full of so much mist yesterday, it was on two trains for most of the day and the music inside the station was so loud, (I included this in my trip report from yesterday).
  21. Okay I went today and it was reasonably busy, queues reached to about an hour, although the queue boards weren't updated for the first half of the day so it said 00 minutes for everything which was a nuisance The park opened 30 minutes early which is always a nice thing to see, but anyway, here we go. The first part of the day we headed straight for Swarm and fortunately the queue wasn't too long, however, there was a lot of confusion about going backwards and it seemed not even the staff knew what was going on. People queued up and were then being turned around saying they needed to BUY their passes from a fast-track booth, but when we returned later we were told differently, just to queue and collect our passes at the front. The first time, we queued for the front facing seats for about 5 minutes right side. The near-miss is such a brilliant add on, the fire wasn't working in the morning (however was later in the day). The on-ride photos were also not working on the right side of the train, but all the other effects were working and my has it aged well in a year. It feels a lot more intense and I think it's actually claimed pole position in my favourite rides at Thorpe so well done Swarm Rush was only running on one swing and the runs it was doing was very poor. They weren't very long and they won't reaching very higher either, the queue wasn't particular long but we decided to leave this out. Vortex I was very surprised because the operation was so good! We were on for a really long time and got a lot of high swings in. Colossus looked awful and it was running on a one train operation for most of the morning and early afternoon, the roar sounded really nice. The loading was awfully slow from what I could see from the bridge so I returned later, it was onto 2 trains, however it had to close temporarily as someone was sick, the guy on the PA was pretty cheery and so I wasn't too worried. A lot of the problems were also with passengers which affected loading times. Harnesses kept being lowered and then had to be released as a numerous amount of people hadn't put their bags away There was a really lovely member of staff working where the fast track and general queue integrated named Sarir who was making conversation and really distracted us from the weather and queuing. I think they definitely over sold fast track today considering the fast track queue was about as long as the stretch of path from the station to where Sarir was standing Also there was not theme music in the station?! Samurai running awfully, didn't even bother. SAW was okay but so jolty, I skipped the second ride my friends opted for, however, the effects for the most part were all working and I never noticed the mannequins in the traps before X's queue never faltered all day, it was always full so I didn't get a chance to ride. Storm Surge sounded squeakily awful and looked even worse. Loggers was amazing, the tunnel doesn't look as bad as I had expected but it still seems like there is work to be done from what I could tell. The double drop was as good as ever despite the cold winds The Inferno queue was full of traveller preteens moaning about the queue (it was about 35 minutes) and saying they should just get fast track instead. It's grown on me a lot and surpassed Colossus sitting nicely at #2 with Swarm at #1. EDIT: FORGOT TO SAY, the tunnel was FULL of mist and the theme music was very very loud and atmospheric Rumba Rapids was just a lot of fun and I got wet for a change but it seriously needs some more TLC on the queue and on the effects of the ride. Flying Fish we enjoyed WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much. Queued front row for Stealth and we were subject to queue jumpers, a really great staff member named Michael was assertive to say the least and was really pleasant to us while we were waiting. And finally, £4 for the car park is CRIMINAL Ride Count: Swarm (2) - No backwards though, too long Vortex SAW Loggers Leap Nemesis Inferno Rumba Rapids Colossus Stealth Overall a good day
  22. They turned it off because people complained they were getting too wet? That's disgraceful, how dare they get you wet on a water ride.
  23. I'm guessing they're not letting you go on your own? That's unfortunate I was in the same boat until I got my car so they couldn't stop me
