  1. And they've lowered the height limit for X. Possible they're going to divert back to aiming themselves at the family market? Slowly but surely..?

    Slammer

I imagine they'll grasp the opportunity to advertise it as the 'world's only', I can't say I'm a massive fan of Slammer, I'd take a ride on Rush anyday but I admire the work they put in to keeping it.
  3. ugh, thanks for the info though!
  4. The only ride I can imagine which has problems is Colossus because the trains are awful. That's the only ride I've seen people turned away from, other than that have fun! Try the test seat outside the entrance (I believe it's still there)
  5. Is the SAW Alive building still standing :l?
  6. They look worse than I thought, especially with the numbers on the side of the containers :/

    Music

Both! I've been listening to her for about 2 years now and I'm really glad she's getting the recognition she deserves, I've met her twice on tour and seeing her in 10 days, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited!

But, would you rather the park opened something half finished? Was thinking the same thing.
  10. Fuming - exaggerated, but yes, it's irritating.
  11. But if we refer to the questions posed to Thorpe Park, they stated SWARM would NEVER run backwards as it would take away from the experience. So, surely if they can back-pedal on things like this, couldn't it possibly be on the cards? The ride is so rough and looks horrible, it's not as enjoyable as it once was which is why I think it needs the refurb. I'd love a refurb for Tidal Wave, nothing came about with the fireball (or that know of) despite Thorpe suggesting it may return, however, I don't get off Tidal Wave with a headache, I end up drenched, as expected. There's a LOT of rides that need some TLC, if they hadn't let the rides get in the state they are in the first place or set aside a budget for renovation of rides specifically maybe I wouldn't be so annoyed. Plus, adding a gimmick to a relatively new ride is supposedly going to restore the gate figures but it shouldn't be just dependent on one ride, Swarm is great through and through, one of the best overall rides at Thorpe. I repeat it a lot and it must be getting a little grating, but personally, I'd rather go to a park where it seems the park is actually cared for it's infrastructure, rather than looking in a sorry state and run down aside from new additions.

    Logger's Leap

If this Paramount Park goes ahead, it'll be some healthy competition and might initiate Merlin to look at guest experience a bit more.
  14. And I suppose a rough headbanging represents the destruction of the city as well?
  15. I just don't see why we should have to settle for something to compensate for other good they've done. Yeah it often arises 'enthusiasts are never happy' but when a NEW attraction doesn't really need (in my opinion) the additional budget for extra theming and the cost to reverse the seats, it could've been put use elsewhere to maintain the atmosphere of the park. And, if they had maintained the tunnel and the rest of the park continually rather than just leaving them, we wouldn't be moaning in the fun place. Thorpe is meant to be a theme park, not a funfair.

    X

I imagine they haven't finished doing what they are planning. Which again, just suggests they're doing continual work on X which is promising. They haven't changed the sign outside the front but they've repainted the outdoor queue line. http://thorpeparkmania.co.uk/page/live There's a picture on this live feed.

    Logger's Leap

I love that they're continuing to add to the Swarm but if they think the underwhelming gate numbers are down to their latest addition, I think they need to re-evaluate their priorities. There are plenty of other aspects of the park which are in dire need of the budget. The backward seats on Swarm should have been done at a later date because it's still relatively new attraction. I just hope the X renovation has promise. Oh and as much as I'm not keen on the Crash Pad's visual look, I'm sure it'll bring a lot more revenue in for them.

    Logger's Leap

You say that's sarcasm, but it definitely sounds somewhat plausible. You'll give them ideas, next the Swarm will continue to dominate has destroyed further parts of Thorpe Park. 'THE SWARM' tore off the tunnel of Loggers Leap - I imagine that'll be the next PR stunt

    Logger's Leap

It's completely frustrating to see the rest of the park deteriorate. I agree with Pluk.

  21. From what I've seen from the updates, I'm going to seem like a negative nancy but just have to express my views. - The Swarm's new theming I think looks great and really adds to the ride, it's also nice to see the fire going off. It looks like from the photo's they've sorted the queue system out somewhat but can't tell entirely. - The bridge to the Crash Pad looks awful, the colour scheme is, awful and the actual crash pad it self looks, awful. - It's nice to see they've given some updates to Inferno with the lights and with all the mist and also repainted the Stealth bunny hop. However, I'm still hoping for the proposed theming which was never implemented. - Colossus, still hasn't got a repaint and I'm fuming. - Loggers Leap looks horrendous and the lack of the tunnel completely takes away from the experience. Hopefully the work on X will be promising.
