I think the billboard will be a decent addition to the rest of the theming elements, but whoever made that image should be shot.

I'm baffled to how long Thorpe are going to keep Storm Surge. They insisted in the THORPE PARK Q&A sub-forum they would never run the Swarm backwards as it would 'alienate' the experience and deem the near misses pointless. But, hey, 2013 season, Swarm has now mutated and running backwards? They said they had no plans to remove it but maybe they'll change their minds, it's possible right? If it is going to stay, I really hope they at least make it seem somewhat appealing or the best it can be by adding an actual station rather than some slabs of concrete and a small booth and actually add theming to the top of the hill rather than the ghastly bare metal, as well as stopping the leaks.

I think because I'm really fond of Thorpe is that I get annoyed when silly decisions (in my eyes) are made when they have SO much potential. I don't like hearing people from the GP or my friends say 'it's rubbish, always busy' because I kinda feel responsible in a strange sort of way? Would never pass an opportunity of going, I just hope they can put back into the park and I know I've said this about 3 times now in different ways, but I just want them to acknowledge and appreciate their customers. I'm dedicated regardless, along with most enthusiasts, but that doesn't mean the GP are.

I still enjoy going Thorpe, not doubt about it, I realised how negative that post sounded, as there is a lot Thorpe does get right and have done already. I don't agree with saying it wasn't family orientated back in those days, I used to go there with my family a lot and used to love going to the farm and such. I still love it, I just feel the atmosphere has been taken away. And I hope the rumours aren't true about NWO being themed to Ministry of Sound ugh

The problem with Thorpe is repeat business isn't coming back in from the GP. If I wasn't an enthusiast and I had paid £43 is it now?! or let's say half that with coupons. Getting on 4 rides throughout the day, constantly pressured and having staff shove fast-track down your throat, a day full of breakdowns and long queues and the park looking a total mess and uncared for. Well, I wouldn't want to return either. Not for £21-45 a pop. I do question the GP at times though and they're intelligence, silly enough to go on peak days, what do they expect? Thorpe's really lacking atmosphere at it stands, the chart music is awful, furthermore, It seems they don't have much regard for families (the people with the £) and aiming the park for a target market for those who don't have a great deal of money when they're students. It's riddled with chavs and reckless youths (myself being one of those ) and doesn't make it a pleasant place to visit. Thorpe need to re-evaluate their aims and think about customer satisfaction and creating an atmosphere within the park again, rather than, 'hi, we're going to over-charge you to get in, but oh no, we won't stop there, we'll also make your day a disappointment too! Have a nice day - oh, and don't forget to buy fast track'. I love the investments (mostly) with the park, especially with the Swarm which is seriously amazing and shows promise still within the team, but adding a new ride will not mask the poor keeping of the park.

Anything at Universal or Disney, I know this is the UK and they have a much higher income and a bigger budget, but I'd rather an original, full experience ride which wouldn't suffer at the hands of acquiring a licence. Which is why I speak so highly of Swarm, despite being short, the experience is immersive and overall the best coaster in the park. Plus, they're constantly adding to it. Not that they should need to, they should just leave it alone. [2]

The SAW franchise should have never come to Thorpe in the first place. Not a major fan of IP's unless they are actually done properly.

The chips from the Fish n Chip shop are vile. The battered sausages are good though! The noodle place is my favourite though

Suggests X is most definitely getting a refurb then. Please give some of that TLC to Colossus and the whole park too!

I have so many fond memories of going on that ride, very early memories of going it for the first time and not expecting the first drop so soon. I really hope that it's replaced, seriously.

I rarely go on peak day's and try to go in the quieter period, but if they're running one train on a quiet day and the queue's get big because of M£rlin clutching onto our wallets, why would that make me want to return? The reason I go on days that are quieter is so I get a lot more done, otherwise it just is completely pointless. It would put me off going both periods so then I wouldn't be going at all. If I was a standard guest paying £40, (or £20 with the 2for1s) I would expect an enjoyable experience regardless, it's nice to see the park busy and have a bit of atmosphere, but when the park is encouraging staff to sell fast-track at the entrance of rides with no queue, it completely ruins it and kills a huge aspect of the day for me. I think the GP would share a similar view if they felt they were being ripped off if the park isn't working to it's maximum potential when they're paying extortionate amounts of money to get in.

How death should of been simulated in The Passing
alexander commented on Cornflakes's blog entry in Maximillion's blog
I like this concept a lot more, I also think they should also theme the maze about seeing your 'life flash before your eyes', as if you're transitioning between death to heaven/hell and it's the time between. But because of you're an alleged criminal it should be that all your 'memories' that were once good have been twisted or all the people you've hurt/killed has come to haunt you. -
It's the turn around near the helicopter that does it for me

To be fair we have to give Thorpe credit because it's all man-made (I think) and it doesn't have the natural beauty that Alton Towers have but it would be nice to see at least a little effort go into maintaining rather than re-investing, re-investing and then add second-hand eyesores which really (in my eyes) don't help the ride line up at all, especially with the marketing strategy they're going down. Storm Surge does not scream 'thrill', although it's great fun with friends but never worth a queue longer than 15 minutes. I posed a question to Thorpe about the state of the park (must notably Colossus) and they responded and acknowledged the feedback and said they'd pass it on to the relevant team, I just hope it really isn't just thrown out the window.

right wing, outside row, front or back

I love Depth Charge, it's so much fun! The queue takes forever though when it doesn't look very long, guess that's what happens when there's only 4 boats!
-
It's also arguable that some guests don't return because of the state/running of the park. Because I'm an enthusiast it's different but when I had been with my parents before they were disgraced with the state of some of the rides (mind this was a few years back), the lack of atmosphere and the closure of 4 rides (2 roller coasters, 2 flats). So just reiterating my point, I would much prefer them to not add a new ride and give some TLC to the current infrastructure of the park.

Going to miss having my XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger meal But the place I enjoy eating most is the Noodle Bar, Hoisin Dark and Noodles, tastes so good and even better with the discount! The only food outlet I have an issue with at Thorpe is the Fish and Chips place near the Teacups, the fish is pretty nice but the chips and soggy and disgusting!

I'm all for refurbishing/cleaning bits of the park rather than a new 2013 ride, Colossus desperately needs it.

The inversion record seems like the obvious bet to me.
