I always find when I queue for :\X the queue never takes that long to actually get on the ride, I find it really quick and I don't even find the ride it self that bad, it's just not good. Anyway, I noticed today that they've added techno music in the queue (in certain parts) and on the last forward and backwards brake section is there are like flashing multicoloured lights above you that gone on and off every so often, and to the right of you are like mannequins but like, I don't know how to explain. It's not nearly as dark as it was before in there and now you can see where you're going (trackwise). I think I preferred it before.
  2. No work or actual progress was made today, looked to see if anything was happening whilst at the peak of Storm Surge and there was nothing, suppose the heavy rain didn't help the situation!
  3. I went today and it wasn't particularly busy, longest queue was 60 minutes and that was for Colossus. Got on 12 rides by 3pm when we left because the amount of rain was horrendous I was forced to buy a poncho. Was pleased with the amount of rides and the atmosphere was rather pleasant, ride operators were having fun in operating and using the microphones in the operation booth to speak to riders and I had a good day in general. The park still doesn't close for another hour but couldn't find another 4 hours of rain, there was so much. When we left, a lot of people prior had left also, and queue's for SAW and Colossus were 15 minutes.
  4. At first when I saw 'THE SWARM' I was thinking, WTH are we going to be invaded by pesky bee's now are we?But in all seriousness I think it will be alien themed, I had the hairs on my neck standing on end watching the promo, I'm so excited! And it makes sense as well, I can't wait! Hope it's consistent with theming as it does look really good! But really... it should be, with a 18mil-20mil investment
  5. Starmageddon I don't think so haha! I like the idea of Last Call as the name though, WAR just seems, a bit, well, it doesn't really tell you much. It just seems like if they called it that, you would know its a WAR but you would know nothing about the details of who between, why there's a war, just that there's a war. I'd rather the idea for the theming be something like the context is an A-Bomb is set to be dropped on the place where the coaster is set, which with the LC12 artwork would suit with the nuclear mushroom cloud.
  6. I was also worried about the length, it doesn't look like the ride will exceed 1 minute 20 including the lifthill, it just looks incredibly short and going I think they said was 53mph to progress through that layout shouldn't be long. Yes, I believe it will be exciting and intense but I think it'll be incredibly short. The lift hill will take up a lot of time as well going 126ft, but hopefully it will pack a punch in the short time it runs.
  7. The details of how the coaster will commence makes me all excited, I love the idea of descending under a wrecked plane, I'm praying they keep the original budget for the theming and I think it will be one of the greatest additions to Thorpe yet!

    The Black Spot

That sounds like such a good idea, it would be nice to return but it wouldn't fit into Thorpe's aim at the 'thrillseeker' market, would be better suited at Chessington! Would be nice to have experienced it though!
  9. Last Stand sounds better to be honest. The second has too many syllables, sounds too complex.
  10. thank god I'm 17 then! Glad I'm not part of that stereotype
  11. This happened to me once, similar anyway. This group of chavs were cussing with a tonne of quite young children in the queue on the phone to this girl saying they were going to "I'll stab you if you still want beef" - I didn't know whether to laugh or just pity them. They walked in and after a few minutes after entering they ran back out the entrance and they was like "na na I ain't doing that". I only ever see pushers on Inferno, had about a group of 20 12-15 year olds trying to push past to find their 'friends'. I was having none of it as they had the full queue up and I had be queuing hours. I probably wouldn't have said anything if they were older and I didn't have this man in front backing me up. You probably would hate me. When people get scared in queue's I tend to make it worse by making up crap deliberately. Bit like when some woman said to her friend if Quantum went upside down when we were seated, there was no queue so she must not of seen it prior to this. But I hate queue jumpers the most, Thorpe say they'll deal with it and removal of the park lalala and I've never see any member of the staff do anything.
  12. If you go on Samurai before closing it is amazing. That's when I had my best ride on it and the last time I went on it was 2010. I haven't been on it since because the loading times and queuing is ludicrous during busy times. Last time I went Thorpe I was with my parents and they didn't want to go on, I went up and said to the ride operator opening the seats. "I'm a single rider and there's a spare seat there, surely can I not just use that seat if it's vacant anyway? Or do I have to queue the whole thing" - He told me to go queue like everyone else. I may be wrong but it's crazy, the seat was empty anyway! So I haven't been on it since last year and I've had a good memory last year but this season I've had no idea what it's like.
  13. I remember the first time I went to DM and we were queuing for the haunting, we were waiting for well over 45 minutes and got fed up and left the queue not even close to the entrance seeing as all the other major rides has queuing times of about 10-25 minutes with G-Force with about an hour.

    Logger's Leap

Loggers still pulls the queue's! As soon as the sun comes out it can get up to an hour easily and everyone so often 2 hours!
  15. Tomb Blaster - Reasonably fast from what I remember, although it's been a long time since I rode it.Air & Detonator - Same fate, I find the queueing time drag on for ages and get very bored waiting in queue for these.Dragon Falls - The queuing wasn't too bad but it didn't go fast either, in between really.Silver-Star - I queued right outside the entrance building for this, I found the queue moved ridiculously quick didn't feel like long at all!Sorry for the lack of detail I just wanted to be straight to the point!
  16. LOL sounds like it must of created a good atmosphere at the park, I wish I got to experience it!
  17. I've always been scared as I've grown a lot in the past year and I'm about 6ft2 and still growing, I've always been worried I'll grow too tall to ride certain rides Hopefully it doesn't come to that!!!
  18. They could easily hype up a wooden launched coaster because it would still be called a world's first as they've never been combined together, not to my knowledge anyway.
  19. Yeah it looks like it should be well themed from the plans, however, does the £20m include all the marketing which they're bound to a tonne I can imagine and maybe they won't have enough investment to put into scenery, especially when mainly it's only really the enthusiasts who care for it. Seeing as Thorpe already looks like a destruction site to an extent.
  20. That's if Merlin implement the high density of scenery they plan too, and this is Merlin we're talking about!
  21. When I last went on it, it wasn't smoother it seemed rougher then last time haha
  22. Not gonna lie, Depth Charge is amazing, I love it so much haha! But probably Loggers!

it's like a computer folder name I always thought, I always believed the story line of X was being stuck inside a computer. The No Way Out is a directory inside the theoretically 'X' drive.People say X:/WTF presumbly because it's usually the feeling you have when you get off the ride.
  24. I reckon he's said it for a reason.. He wouldn't of just said it randomly for a reason. I'm just gonna guess and say it's a hidden message. This will probably fail.. Maybe an anagram or numbers for each letter?L (12)e (5)s (19)C (3)o (15)o (15)g (15)a (1)n (14)I'm too lazy, I'm probably over-analyzing, but someone try and find something because I suck at this stuff :l
  25. I never got to experience it, wish it was still around, could create some more atmosphere to the park!
