Before we all hate on VR. Have any of you complaining about it actually experienced it? I haven't and whilst I'm unsure on the idea of VR I'm not entirely against it and am open that it may be amazing and possibly the future. Let's use Europa as an example as that is often the best park to use. Alpine had it as paid extra last year, it was popular and reviews were hugely positive! So, this year it remains on Alpine and is also available on Pegasus. So it can't be bad for them to be expanding its offerings. There is huge scope of what is possible with VR, so let's not judge the technology that is taking the theme park world by storm (obviously because it's really unpopular and rubbish) until we've actually tried it for ourselves.

It says the attraction doesn't rely on VR, it is only one of many components to it!

Derren just posted this on FB

The cover photo on the Twitter page (twitter.com/altontlc) shows that they're giving it the rust effect. The track is meant to be a white shade, it's the bones of the alien. It's not just going to be painted white, if anything it looks like they're putting a lot into the rusting effect by the cover photo. They're painting Nemesis, it means they're giving it some attention. So maybe they'll deal with the station and clean out the waterfalls so they aren't clogged with moss (even if we'll never see the red water run again).

This photo is B&M love in a nutshell. Such a lovely contrast of colours
-
So if Oblivion was being done to make X-Sector look fresh then couldn't the same be said for Nemesis with Galactica? Just being picky over the whole Oblivion was done for Smiler comments.

Derren just tweeted "on Monday my secret project with Thorpe Park will be revealed. Keep your eyes on mindswanted.co.uk" Can't post the tweet as I'm on mobile So seems we're getting an actual announcen

It will be VR as part of a special 15th anniversary event. Details are on USJ website but it also includes overlays of Shrek into another film etc for a few months.

So this park is opening in June. 16th to be precise. But not all the stuff will open apparently with stuff opening in a trickle fashion as they're ready. YAY! Rapids. Seven Dwarves. Buzz. http://lukeandthetempleoffun.blogspot.sg/2016/01/shanghai-disney-resort-set-to-open-on.html Interestingly, Shanghai apparently have the rights to show the new Soarin' film first. So let's hope that it's ready to go, otherwise it will impact the reopening of it in Orlando. Disney park hype.

To be fair, if you're going to miss the Easter Holidays then the next big thing is May half term which this opens a week or two before, so it'll give the area enough time to settle in and them to not have to rush anything. Yeah the coasters are built and testing, but the whole area needs theming, flat rides added etc. This area will be highly detailed and worth the wait. Not like putting a set of goggles on a roller coaster that is taking over 5 months. At least this is a whole, fully themed land.

It's great that other people are getting involved, means I don't have to make such long winded updates More track up. They're going to work backwards on it as the footers in the lake area have been problematic so they've basically had to start them from scratch. Don't know if they're still planning on theming them. But yes, a fair amount of track in the back half ready to be put up and it seems to be rising quickly. Track from Ohio should all be delivered by March, up by April and then testing begins. Meanwhile, Hulk will be running the trucks around on the exterior path within the next 4 weeks. Things are really in first gear for Summer now!

It's just a shame that they had the chance to make Air fit into Forbidden Valley more but have instead made it seem further away. At least it's not a dark theme and the tunnel will be virtually themed
-
When we went up Smiler in April last year it was raining, pretty windy etc. Josh has been up Colossus in some strong wind too and has photo evidence
-
Why would the througput be bad? Forbidden journey is omnimover style, this could be that too.

Why can't Derren be in charge? We don't know what details the agreement between him and Merlin are. He is a creator and I'm sure the ride/experience we get will have been created by him and his group who work on his shows. Merlin may just be giving the green light to what he's suggesting. We just don't know. Derren isn't the type of guy to just slap his name on something for marketing. Also, Paramount. That 2 billion is for the whole resort. So infrastructure from scratch, the theme park, hotels, water park, entertainment complex. How much will actually end up being spent on rides? Plus, people say Merlin don't know how to make a great dark ride. Urm, will the people behind Paramount? We just don't know.
-
All of this over me liking Gwazi? Jeez that will get some heavy criticism as so many people disliked that ride I like lots of rides. Having never ridden a hyper I don't know what to expect but I'm open minded and will be doing Silver Star in April. So Mako won't be my first one. Let's look at this to get back on topic.

Could be May. Manta was summer 09 and opened on May 31st. They will be aiming for before July as that's when the big summer crowds hit, so sometime in June is most likely.

Taking it this is actually a competition and completing the clues is part of successfully taking part to hopefully win one of the prizes, no one should be helping anyone as it lowers the odds of you winning. Also it's more fun to work them out yourselves.

Another support has appeared. New footers being formed. (Bioreconstruct on Twitter) More green track spotted on route thanks to Screamscape. So Hulk is starting to take shape, someone rumoured about May opening for this. It's in a similar stage that Smiler was so it's possible, especially as frost won't exactly be an issue. Kong has been painted. Back just needs to be done now. Menacing New structure going up Supposed to be a food kiosk/merch stand This photo really shows the mural in full effect! Universal Creative were also touring the outside section yesterday. New description of the attraction on the website too. https://www.universalorlando.com/Rides/Islands-of-Adventure/Skull-island-reign-of-kong.aspx Says best for teens and adults. Height restriction will be lower though, they're making this thing scary. Apparently they've been using HHN tactics or something for this. The facade is menacing enough though!

Don't think it's a yearly job but it has definitely been done since opening in 05.

SeaWorld have been posting these snippets over the past 2 days which are creating a larger picture that will take up the whole of the home page on their Instagram when all 9 are posted. The next 3 will probably be posted today as we've been getting 3 a day so far, people are expecting it the top row to have the opening date. So photo 7 will probably have 16 on it for the year, 8 the month, 9 the day but this is America so it might be 8 the day, 9th the month. Or all on 9. Or not the date at all! Anyway, the captions so far are: Trains look like they have splash marks up the side, kinda like Manta has the winged tips. You won't be travelling alone could be on about music on board. And surging through water could be on about a splash down. Exciting times, especially as the highest support has been put up!

Plopsaland Baron vs Bird Then Troy

Merlin lot, Paultons, Pleasure Beach, AI, might try get up to Mingo and LWV as well. Europa Park is happening in April, all booked, much hype. Wouldn't mind going back to Phantasialand and Plopsa too. Also going to try hit Parc Asterix when I go to Paris some time in the summer. Liseberg, Heide, Walibi Holland would also be nice. Most of the money though is going towards Florida in August and then university after that so can't go too crazy this year

Kong is progressing nicely! Unthemed wall at least getting some paint Kong has had his blue underlayer put on. Roar. Mural still being worked on too. Photos from OrlandoUnited. And another batch from Mako Madness More work on the unthemed sections Indoor queue. looks so impressive!

What if they're somehow attached to the trains and you just pull them down over your head with the restraint? Then you can have the option to not pull it down or to pull it down. Plus all the electrics and wiring can be stored in the crafts.
