  1. Listing it down, it could maybe see the following on the site of the former ride. A coaster similar scale to the Smiler A fair sized dark ride Two flat rides Two or three family rides (Or a mixture of both the above) A small wooden coaster Knightmare So, I assume the old ride will perhaps then be ripped out by the sounds.
  2. I would probably say Nutty Jakes. This is because I recall there being greater theming among the ride as well as a simple storyline and a more exciting atmosphere and was almost like carbon copy of something you'd find at Disney land. However as this was over 15 years ago, my memory may not be 100% accurate. The Brer Rabbit theme don't get me wrong is ok but for me not quite as impressive, but that's mainly due to the slightly cheesy storyline and low quality models, but it' was stilla fun ride though. This video below, may hopefully give you an impression of what the ride once was.
  3. It's rather sad to hear they're removing this fun little dark ride. I feel rather fortunate to have ridden the ride in both it's forms from when it was Nutty Jakes in the 90's and it's current theme as Brer Rabbit this year. I wonder whether the ride will be receiving a retheme or be removed completely?
  4. Thanks very much for the help Tommy & Pluk.
  5. I'll hopefully be there as I haven't been to the eye for a while. Plus I've never been to Madame Tussaud's or the dungeons yet either. Plus with tee wonderland should hopefully be fun. In terms of transport, which London Underground line/s go to Waterloo station?
  6. Having analysed recent CBeebies shows and what rides the area has, I've got a few Ideas in what shows/themes the rides could be based upon. Riverbank Eye Spy/ retheme this in to an in the night garden boat tour ride with all the show's characters appearing with also possibly a straight forward story line to follow (as it will be aimed at kids any way) plus also the show's theme tune as well. Tractor ride/ either Brum or postman pat themed, going around the circuit interacting with characters and buildings and also a simple storyline too. (Maybe even Peter rabbit) Berry Bish Bash/ a pignut shooting ride where pi glue and friends are having a snowball fight and everyone needs to help. Singing Barn/ some sing don't attraction or interactive walk through with either Bob the builder or Timmy Time. Live stage/ Various Ceebebies show characters such as Tweenies, Rastamouse, waybullo or more. Just a few ideas, some may work, others probably not.
  7. Yeah, London Underground isn't much better. Today, my train's destination was changed from Aldgate to Harrow On The Hill due to a child being on the line (from what I heard) which caused minor delays on the rail line. Fortunately, that's the station I get off at anyway to change for another train, but was still stuck at several red signal points for sometime because of this. TBH trains these days have the reliability of the Smiler, you never know which day they go down.
  8. I live 30 minutes away from the park and currently don't see my worthwhile there based on what's there currently, but that's ok as I'm at a party on that night anyway.
  9. It really annoys meaning Thorpe's Facebook page and general with the amount of people complaining about how the Asylum is offensive towards people with mental health conditions, when the attraction is completely fictitious and is based on no real people or characters and just uses deadly actors that scare people. The amount of people protesting worries me about the maze's future that how one if their better mazes may have to close just because of selfish, obnoxious OTT people.
  10. Does anyone know what's up with the speakers on Stealth? Only last night, the speakers were really muffled and you could barely hear the audio except a bass like sound.
  11. Samurai was also shut last night, with no apparent signs of life. I have no idea what's up with the ride, but having two rides down at peak time in the park, definitely isn't a good thing.
  12. Having just visited my second fright nights this year, here's my opinions so far. My Bloody Valentine, unlike my first time through the maze, there seemed to be fewer actors (I think) and was somewhat not as impressive, it was ok, but not as good. Maybe it was just the time of day as the attraction had just opened, but who knows. Cabin in the woods, still my favourite maze, we went through one door, just to end up where we had started. We also went through the route with mime faces and the scary monsters all over. Asylum, the maze was still very good, but sadly the ending was quite a washout as the group behind d us were too close and meant we weren't so much chased out of the maze which was a shame. The You're Next actors on the other hand appeared more menacing from the last time. Hopefully I'll get to attend one more Fright Night if I get chance as I want to try face it alone and try saw alive.
  13. I really enjoyed the tour of the maze and it was amazing to see the hidden details within My Bloody Valentine and also the extensive effort they have brought in to the maze which is very impressive. I'd like to give big thanks to Peaj and other members of the TPM team for organising and managing this trip throughout and also Thorpe for giving us this excellent opportunity.
  14. Extensive to the degree of rides being stripped down (or their main components) and/or the urgency to receive an annual operating inspection, making sure the ride is safe enough for operations next year.
  15. I don't think the price will change in terms of this event, however I hope Saw is on 8 cars all night and both rides are open all the time. Maybe they'll open the club earlier due to the lack of rides that night. I knew there would be a reduced lineup, but not like this, I expected X,swarm and stealth open if any rides would be open, but oh well. At least this means extensive closed season work will hopefully take place if the lineup this night is limited.
  16. It probably isn't, plus it questions me how much money would be left for upgrades after falls and minetrain's renovations next year (and maybe Ramesis). I'm certain it wouldn't bring back the third train on Vampire and even if it did, train 3 would require several new parts as parts have already been used on trains 1&2.
  17. The idea of a CBeebies land is an interesting concept and one I find will either go successfully or catastrophic. Providing they can get the green flag from the third party owners of the shows to do, we could have a nicely themed area, but get the red flag from most, then it could well be a great big disapointmrnt.
  18. Unfortunately though, Chessington have gone downhill this year, despite slight improvements from 2010. Went toChessi grown three times last year and still couldn't get enough go the place but gave only been once this year and only intend to return this to see a Haloween Hocus Pocus mainly just for the Hocus Pocus revamp and night rides (which I've never done). Though the revamp looks to have big potential, there's still many problems including the park having 2 main rides down (plus a few closed at dusk too) which then means the remaining rides have more demand which with this years operations and the fact one of the parks biggest and popular rides will only be running on 60% or less of its capacity. In addition, the park will still close an hour early from previous (and better years) meaning you may only get 1-2 for nights which for a time when darkness is the main centre, is not good.
  19. Thanks for the help Fish , however I think it only saves 20% (according to the site) and it's unlikely they'll allow me to have NUS discount on top of the 25% renewal reduction rate.
  20. After posting on Chessington's Facebook recently, it seems that we won't be getting any rides during zoo days this year. Chessington Resort/ Hi Matthew, thank you for your lovely message. Our Zoo days include access to the Zoo and SEA LIFE centre but not our rides as they are being developed for 2014! Hope that answers your query and our animals look forward to seeing you soon! Looks like we won't be getting any winter rides this year.
  21. This all sounds like a real stomach puncher for the park, having all these tight and iffy restrictions and being prevented from any major expansion is pure stupidity, as how is a business expected succeed if they are condemned expansion. Also, the following issues which are/will occur in the future, They won't be able to install anything as large as vampire when the rides removed Zufari, must be made back in to a grassy field when it's removed Nothing as tall as furys lift hill can be placed on its site If Kingston council are still as stingy as they are now when these happen (which is likely), then I can't see how the park could carry on and can continue progressing (as a themepark at least). Wake up Kingston council, stop being so obnoxious and arrogant and see how this top uk themepatk is boosting the economy!
  22. Swarm in the dark is brilliant and if you're timings well with fire, then it's even more impressive. Backwards in the dark is brilliant as you feel you're being dragged through the air and everything becomes distorted in the meantime. Shame I got stuck on the ride for 10 minutes due to a breakdown during my last ride on fright night preview.
  23. Happy Birthday Ian, have a great day.
  24. Hi all, My annual pass will be expiring in less than a months time and I was wondering what the best and cheapest way would be to renew it. I currently hold a premium pass, but due to greater expenses this year may have to downgrade to a standard which is something I don't really wish to do because it would mean paying for parking and £5 every time I visit a fright night. I wish to pay at least 30% less than full price, what's the best way to get pass reductions at this time of year?
