Creaky Cafe appears to have been removed from the food and drink section of Chessington's website. http://www.chessington.com/plan-your-trip/food-drink.aspx Considering this isn't surprising seeing how the place was severely damaged in the fire, this could mean either the restaurant will be rebranded when/if it reopens, there won't be a restaurant there for the 2014 season, or it's just a tempory measure until it Reopens. Bubbleworks is still listed for reopening in march, so presumably the ride received little to no damaged.

Would it be the Dragons Claw from Adventure Island?

Well seeing as we have MOS during the whole season, Summer Nights and Sun Scream in the summer and Fright Nights at the end of the season, the park has quite a few events, however I would like to see any of the following happen in the future (or even this season). More dome events like the ones we saw quite a few times last year such as comedy nights, roller discos and music gigs return as they give a great variety of additional entertainment for the park. The return of the fireworks, which would be greatly received if done right with the new widened target audience and would end the park season literally with a bang. However, I doubt we would see this return until at least 2015 if not later. A half term event like towers again where selected rides are open. Despite not going too well in the 2007-2009 period it ran, I feel it could work much better now the park has a greater range of attractiones and also the addition of another indoors one too, plus the efforts we've seen I. 2013. However we wouldn't see this until at least 2015, if ever.

Due to shortage of money and other commitments, I won't be able to make this trip now, but whoever goes, have a great time and I look forward to seeing you in march for the Thorpe open meet.

Here's what we will likely see from the retheme. //I.imgflip.com/67kzb.jpgvia Imgflip Meme Maker

In a slightly unforeseen move, the park will be opening a selection of rides during its African Adventures event during half term, which includes TombBlaster and Hocus Pocus. Full details can be seen below. http://www.chessington.com/plan-your-trip/african-adventures.aspx I'm quite surprised they're opening Tomb Blaster as this gas never happened before considering its right round the other side of the park. However what concerns is, what if this means park maintenance won't be done, considering they're supposed to be doing a lot of works there this year and surely this may limit work on the rethemed Scorpion Express, even though reports suggest were in for disapointmrnt. I guess Bubbleworks is presumably not there as they are still working on repairing the fire damage round there, seeing we still don't know what they will do with Creaky Cafe.

Maybe it's me, but am I the only one who thinks we may not see Runaway Train Aka Scorpion Express reopen at the park til June, even if it is still rockless as they really are taking their time on this retheme considering they had all of the 2013 season to fix this. Chessington really have become lazy, dull and unimaginative recently, except for Wild Asia.

Adventure Island TPM Meet 16/02/14 (Half Price Tickets)
Matt 236 replied to AJ 's topic in TPM 2014 Meets
Out of the days chosen, it had to be the one I couldn't do. I'm afraid I won't be able to attend this trip as I'm working all day then unless something miraculous happens. I was looking forward to going here again after five years, but certainly obviously wasn't to be. Whoever's going, have a good time! -
Wow, can't believe it's this time of season nearly. In terms of dates, either weekend seems okay for me at the moment.

Thanks the pictures and report. Legoland Florida looks a nice clean and fresh and despite first impressions, I can say now it looks better than Legoland Windsor and puts the park to shame as our one being the worst of the parks (although I know nothing of what the Malaysia one is like). Good to see Jungle Coaster working well in its new home and the new Chima area looking nice, bar the slightly shed like tunnel.

The music for the Smiler is very dark, sinister and atmospheric which does the job of the ride's theme tune and certainly reflects the creepy experimental inoculation theming point of the ride. It's amazing how the track is actually over an hour long but yet with subtle changes in the music throughout the theme, something I certainly didn't notice when I spent 2.5 hours in the queue for the ride. IMA score have created some brilliant soundtrack and from what happened with the ride last year, the soundtrack is one of the few things that went right for the Smiler in 2013.

Family Inverted B&M Happy Valley Shanghai
Matt 236 replied to EC!'s topic in International Attractions
This will be very interesting to see how this one works, considering B&M have only built coasters in the past aimed for thrilling rides. A B&M inverter without inversions or thrilling elements, will be very strange and interesting to see. -
That just sums up Chessington these days, overhype, no effort or any signs of originality. I never had high expectations on this retheme and if this is the case with no rock work or immersive theming elements, it will just be a plain and slightly boring powered coaster. Chessington had the opportunity to make 2014 their own, but it sounds like they've blown it, at least from fanboy prospect. Even the flying fish is more exciting than a rock less mine train and though the current ride is not as good as the original, it's looking better now that shrubbery is growing around the ride area.n As for the hotel, I can't see them opening until mid summer at the very earliest.

Although it's a good idea, I can't see it working. Unfortunately even with the slight higher emphasis to the family audience, I still think the shows in the arena as they would cost a great deal to run and maintain and would not earn their keep on off peak days. This is pretty much what happened with Saw Alive, where the costs to run and maintain it were so great (about the equivalent of running a few rides at the parkI believe), they now only open it during Fright Nights due to the low attendances there. A show is something the park could get in the future depending on target audience, but not right now. The 4D cinema's return is a move in the right direction for now, as it brings another show/indoor attraction for the park which is what it badly needs. The best uk show at the mo, is probably the stunt show at Legoland, which although certainly not near the scale of the states, is a great exciting fun show overall.

Sounds a very interesting project so far. Judging from the planned 4D bus ride, I strongly doubt it will be a Legoland Discovery centre, plus also there's the one in Manchester, there are many places likely to get one before London and also concept sounds very different as well. I expect the theme for this experience will have some sort of theme related to London, due to the proposed bus ride as I'm not sure what other themes it could really sustain with the prominent use of a bus, travel experience, action adventure, those are the only ones that come to mind. Despite the claims for a world first, I'm fairly concerned with the plans of actors and experiences, this could have a lot of similarities with the dungeons and not be original, seeing every other existing attraction in the area owned by Merlin, delivering a completely different experience. But I guess we'll have to wait until more of these plans unfold. By the way things are going, I think southbank street and County hall may as well be renamed Merlin street and Merlin hall .

This sounds promising. Considering the area will take place within a slightly forgotten area of the park (Bar Detonator), this should be a great plan and addition to the park, plus keeping the cinema's exit within the land makes a lot of sense as it means the area won't splash as much next to Amity and Calypso. Hopefully the 2 million will not just get us a decent set of Dodgems (and maybe lots of games) but will achieve to gain the area a reasonable amount of theming in the area, that fits within the setting.

If it's the white silvery one near the edge of the island you mean, that's the shed/ware house where the locomotives for the now disused Canada Creek railway are stored and despite closing at the end of 2011, to my knowledge they are still there.

There are a lot of rides Legoland Windsor could do with, robo arms, new coaster, haunted house ride and numerous walkthroughs. However I fear most of those won't happen for a while, if ever and in recent seasons they've barely added anything new and instead been rehashing older areas with rethemes and new playgrounds aka Duplo Valley, which they will be retheming Pirates Landing with a new play area this year, not the what the park needs right now IMO.

Adventure Island TPM Meet 16/02/14 (Half Price Tickets)
Matt 236 replied to AJ 's topic in TPM 2014 Meets
I would love to come, as I haven't been to Southend for five years now. In terms of the dates, I can do Saturday the 15th and should also be availible for the 23rd as well. I won't be able to do the 16th as I'm working all day and there would no chance of changing this. -

From what I've seen and heard so far, I can only predict that we will be extremely disappointed with the final product. If there's no rock work or immersive queue line for the ride, it will be a disaster. Chessington has lost the ball very badly in recent years, with the exception of Wild Asia, and although I only started visiting the park after it's peak in 2006, I can safely say the park was better then from. What it is now and during 2013, only a few good moves were made to the park, one of which has now burnt down. Whilst Thorpe and even Towers are progressing each year, Chessington now seems to be slipping back and looking at its long past too much and needs to start getting their head round this and delivering us some exciting developments as if there's no rocks or equivalent next year at the park, I certainly won't be visiting more than a couple of times.

I remember when Legoland wasn't so commercialised during its early years where although fewer rides, there was much more character in the park including the technic robot band in My Town (now Lego City), more animatronic scenes on Pirate Falls the original waterworks (before the ones removed for the current ones) and also the mystic Explorers Institute and the atmospheric Magic Theatre. All of these now removed, the latter two at least for worse.
