Nemesis isn't smooth but it certainly isn't rough and for a ride almost 20 years old, it still runs reasonably smooth. There are rougher rides out there (much rougher) cough 'SLC' cough and I'd like to see how smooth Smiler is when it's 20 years old . In terms of a technical fault with the ride, I can only see lift hill or braking problems being the cause unless they're doing some structural repairs which I doubt is happening.

I'd love to see Ramesis completely reworked for 2014, looking good as new and able to do some exciting ride programs and also improved reliability, not going to happen though.

In terms of the ride, 3 train op is complicated due to the following reasons, 1/ the excessive train braking when they arrive in the station 2/ lower quality staff operations 3/ guests who faff about or have no tendency to rush 4/ more complicated queuing with exit rider and fastrack In terms of Chessington not affording to run 3 trains astounds me, considering they're part of the biggest uk themepark chain as well as being in the top 10 (maybe top 5) most visited uk parks and the rides popular is still the same (if not more) than it has been since its modifications in 2002 and the park should run it on three trains as much as possible.

Probably, but this years one was cancelled just a few days before happening due to their work being behind schedule.

Its a shame Haloween Hocus Pocus has been cut back in the last couple of years with closings shortened to 7pm last year and now early Haloween days close at just 5pm where it probably won't even be dark yet whilst I strongly doubt you'll get more than 2 rides in the dark on 7pm closings.

Yeah, Stealth's top hat also shakes so technically, the ride is safer shaking a little than not doing so at all while in motion,

I hope the day the Vampire is at the end of its life is the day vekoma make swinging coasters similar to those of the defunct arrow so they can just retrack it. Then, technically it cannot be condemned planning permission.

So You're next seems to be a scare zone attraction then. I hope BWP will operate and hope its done I. A way it can distract queues from the others. Will be interesting to see what they reveal on the asylum.

I think a woodie would suit Drayton Ma or very well, even if its just a small scale one. I only hope they have enough ground space for one and that it can be achieved where it doesn't create to much noise pollution, I think the next uk wooden coaster (hopefully we'll get another soon) I reckon will be from a non Merlin park.

A woodie would be a perfect coaster for Thorpe. It provides thrills, speed and airtime which is what the park needs.its a shame mr Varney disagrees though.

There isure is some strange marketing and publicity coming from Thorpe's Facebook page recently and this is the strangest one Ive seen since the roasters post. However if it keeps people's attention to the park, it can only be a good thing.

It's a great shame that these methods such as the covered station and also more shrubbery being added to the ride. Yes it still wouldn't ave been a great ride, but it wouldn't be the embarrassment of a ride it currently is.

Here's one idea I possibly have when the Vampire is removed from the park whether that be in a few years time or another 23 years. The idea likely has big flaws but here goes. The ride is replaced by a B&M wing rider which uses the same station which to cater for this is completely stripped out and the structure tampered with for expansion of the building. The ride will have one or two lift hills with the first concealed by a housing building to enable this. The ride will fly around much like vampire but with a few inversions and depending on length will have a second lift where it will fly through Transylvania again but then enter more exciting loops as well as going through a dark tunnel with effects. The ride will also have a Transylvanian theme with a ride plot against how an angry vampire wanted revenge or something. To reduce noise, the track will be filled with lots of sand with possible barriers around the area blended in to conceal further remaining noise as well as a green and brown track colour to blend in also. I'm sure it's a heavily flawed idea but how's that sound?

Well done Peaj, you are correct. Sadly I never got to ride the original bubble works as my first visit to Chessington was in 2006 when the ride was infested with giant yellow ducks that remain here to this day. Nemesis Inferno was my first ever roller coaster ride I did which included inversions which I first rode in 2006 a whopping six times in a day (3 or 4 of them in a row). Chessington certainly wasn't my first themepark I went to (see question 1 answer). The first ever themepark I went to (in accordance to given info) was Legoland which was probably in 1996. It could've been Thorpe park but evidence suggests Legoland although my first visits to both parks were around 96/97. I didn't visit Oakwood until 1998 but that would probably be the 4th park I went to (after Lego,Thorpe and Bottons).

Paultons is another park I would like to go to one day, it looks like its receiving a number of good rides plus some great effort input by the owners as well.

I'd easily say its both and just like too much of the park will now remain a shadow of its former glory. Lets hope they sort it but they ay not, for 2013 at least anyway when the park closes in <2 months and won't have zoo days til Christmas.
