Onsite preparations are going ahead now at the park I don't know whether I'm more excited about this or Thorpe's new dark ride when it comes to the 2016 UK additions, however it'll definitely be the best year for new rides for a while and potentially be the biggest rival addition to Merlin yet (exciting times). Meanwhile on TPM, Matt Creek was jealous over a holiday of prancing fanboys who rode many surprisingly, monstrously large dark rides and drank lots of very strong beer! This meant Professor Drunk got more drunk with envy and jealousy...as well as creating crazy music involving sucking children's lollies making a world shortage in major happiness because of Smiler - a ride that isn't perfectly safe until it becomes a boring flat Pile of rubble.

All Merlin parks need new rides, Thorpe & Towers have very much seen the lions share of investment (aside from one of them going wrong), Legoland has received a large chunk of investment (even if things have slowed down a lot in the last few years) whilst Chessington seems to have been given merely the leftovers when it comes to investment. Back on topic though! Pretty sure and hopeful it will be a coaster after the dark ride. Who will make it who knows but B&M, jack, GCI & RMC are likely candidates. Vekoma & Intamin are less likely and following g recent events it definitely won't be a Gerst.

Now that I think about it this thread is just like a topspin. I can hear all the squeaking already ! Personally the next big thing after the next big thing (WC16) should be a coaster and one that's either a GCI or RMC woodie, jack launch (helix) or B&M hyper.

Back to The Towers: A Tale with Twists (and Turns)

Don't you mean Hexample -
All sounds pretty exciting (bar the slightly expensive price tags), about time we finally had something positive after the continuous negative slack from the Smiler accident. Hopefully the 'no pass discount' is only a tempory thing as I'm sure I heard somewhere its hoped to be sorted soon.

Sounds like you had a Hexciting trip, I'm certain that thunder was because it was my birthday that night -
Banned for judging someone just because they haven't made a meet in a while

seeing that I enjoy Swarm, I'd probably like Baron when/if I get to ride it (big emphasis on the if) I actually like Thirteen (too), yes it could be better, but I still find a great family thrill coaster with a decent chunk of effects and theming. Of course, I try to leave judgement until I've actually experienced an attraction, even then it might need several rides on something to get an opinion, like how on my second ride on Valhalla made it go to the top of the top 10 UK dark ride list and in my first three rides on Smiler the ride went from no.1 to 5th and then off the top ten altogether. From what I've seen and heard, Efteling isn't a park renowned for leading innovative rides like phantasia, Europa or even (to a lesser extent) Alton Towers, but one that's full of charm, history and creative quirky themes and stories. I'd ride Droomvluct, Vogel & Fate Morgana anyday.

My only guess is there's a major problem with the trains or brakes, but it's Rita at the end of the day.

I guess we won't see major vertical construction until at least September/October time Judging by the hefty ground work we've seen so far, I think it's looking pretty fees able for an early summer opening now (maybe June), though that's not a bad thing as I expect to be hammering on with my final uni year March-may.

Well it looks like I passed second year of university gaining B's (or 2.1's) in everything which makes me quite, although got to keep my game up for third year as it'll likely be very committing and stressful and I would really like to get a first if I can.

I'm late on this band wagon it seems. My cheekiest experience was definitely the first time I went here. It was for my (then) college mate's 17th birthday (wow 3 years ago now) and half the class and I attended. It was a great laugh and plenty of banter. Many did cheeky refills (even if they didn't refill properly) and others did mixing of the spicy sauces, (one was even dared to drop a bit of the spicy one down his nose (though he didn't)). I remember my first time well, loads of laughs there too. Last nandos for me was last Christmas so I'm probably due another visit soon.

*blows the cobwebs* Chessington needs a lot of investment currently to bring it back near to the golden days (1987-1999), here's what I would do 2016 Tomb Blaster re themed to a new lost mystic ride with new top notch effects, interactive theming along with new soundtrack by Ima score, capacity increased on ride too. Dragons fury completely repainted with new signage themed queue with effects (because it's the first thing most guests will see when the north car park is used) Forbidden Kingdom plaza completely refurbsuhed similar to Market Square, 2017 Bubble works is completely restored to its original form but given some more modern touches such as wall projections and effects and the theme tune resynced like it used to be, the ride will be spots erred by coke but loosely. Vampire repainted with rebuilt new theming and interactive queue features, chandeliers replaced 30th anniversary throughout the season with special events and a light show projected on the mansion at the end of the year Sea lion bay updated to become more interactive 2018 Skyway safari removed and replaced with more modern updated version which will take a new route including going near zufari New show to replace Madagascar Sea Storm given Europa treatment Burger kitchen rebranded to become more spooky based 2019 Brand new family coaster like juvelin built on the site of toadies and peeking heights site, Rattlesnake theming repaired 2020 Dragon falls rethemed 2021 temple of mayhem replaced by dark ride like Arthur at Europa park

New for 2016 - Park-Wide Improvements
Matt 236 replied to MarkC's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
No idea what this is yet' but as Jamie's said, chances are it'll either be a Tomb Blaster re theme (due to ancient look of the clips) or so,etching new for Howl'Oween as they usually receive something new for that each year (hopefully Hocus Pocus Mystery & Haunting in the hollows will remain). I strongly doubt we will see a new ride next year as besides being Chessington, they we need to send planning out by now which even for something medium we would've probably had to seen already. -
*IMPORTANT INFO* Whilst this trip is still scheduled to be going ahead at the present time, there has been no news yet on when the Scenic Railway may reopen. Should there be no news 3 days prior to the trip (Wednesday night) then this trip will be postponed or canceled.

It's only just struck me how 90% of terror tomb was recycled to be used in the Tomb Blaster re theme in 2002, which means much of the additions are over 20 years old. It shows how lazy things got around that time when the only new additions were a giant snake and lasers. 5th dimension & terror tomb definitely look superior rides to what we've got now (from their time).
