Went to thorpe park (once again) again last Sunday. Ride count Closed rides- Fish, Samurai, Caroulsel (after 3pm), Loggers & Rocky (after 5pm), Rumba (broke down later) Inferno Swarm x3 Stealth Colossus Saw Loggers Leap Rocky Express Rumba Rush Quantum Slammer Depth Charge Caroulsel Banana ride Teacups Dodgems Angry Birds 4D Detonator Total 20 Maze count Cabin S13 x3 (one was face it alone) My Bloody a Valentine Blair Witch Saw Alive Total 7 Reserve and ride was running this day and despite hearing mixed things of on the Saturday, the system seemed to work well for my group (at least to begin with) where one of us would reserve one thing and someone rose another. We pretty much hot on the mazes within 5 minutes or so except our second run on Studio which took a lot longer. Did face it alone again, this time in Studio which was really good, actors dragged me along, shouted at me among a number of other things too which was a intense but good experience and still related to the studio theme too, not to mention being chased alone by the chain saw, but I think that's enough spoilers for now but it's an experience if recommend for those ego love scare mazes. Definitely recommend studio for face it alone. Pros Face it alone Champagne (for face it alone) Night rides Bar 360 were good today Mazes were running better today One of.my more relaxing thorpe trips recently Reserve and ride actually worked Colossus front row (and short queue) Cons One train operation at the start of the day (fantastic Thorpe ) Rumba broke when we were nearby Teacups are too stiff (need to loosen up) Samurai died Will be returning next Monday and also for a few hours Friday morning too, this was also my tenth visit this year.

Looks amazing at night, the colours around the ride areas blend so well, Merlin have definitely put a lot of effort and improvement to park lighting at their parks this year for Halloween. Even Rita looks good.

Inferno is a decent sequel to the original. Whilst Nemy is (obviously) the better ride, both have their strong points, Nemesis uses strong forces flying through twists, helixes and inversions while gaining speed, whilst Inferno features an amazing tunnel (when the mist works), interlocking corkscrews on top of lots of little moments of force and bliss, plus an intense helix and shrubbery for the ride to interact with.

As much as I absolutely love and enjoy face it alone, I think I'll pass on this one.

Going to Thorpe tommorow so will be seeing RNR, which I hope works and is successful. If it's anything like the one hey did on the coasters in summer, it could work quite well. Does anyone know how signing up for this system works when you're using it?

Never saw the Bubble works before the duck invasion (first visited 2006) but must say the area and ride as a whole definitely looks the best it has since all my visits there. That being said, hiding some of the old Imperial Leather signs with tipex is little disappointing (especially at a park like Chessngton). Really hope they continue area upgrade/refreshes next year as it's done the park wonders so far this year.

Still, I think it's better than having an old/dated IP or (Merlin) black colours though.

In regards to the 'rumoured proposed attraction' surely it wouldn't remove all those things after all we would be losing 2 rides, an eatery, 2 entertainment complexes , shop (which was only refitted this year) and a food outlet plus 2 mazes would have to be replaced/relocated. If it turns out to be an IP based experience (Saw, Angrybirds etc.) I will be very disappointed as it would mean not just would it be an uncreative (money making) and dead IP replacing a bug chunk of one of the original parts but nothing compared to the likes of Hex. I'm not going to judge anything until I hear an official statement or see planning forms by the park but if we see this happening, they have better make it a good addition especially if all these things could be removed. Hope there's ways of having space for mazes too.

Fungles would definitely be a much better place for a dark ride as it's more concealed, could blend in better plus no one would see the back of it (the shed) unless you use monks walk and the Blair witch is there. Using the arena for a dark ride wouldn't be as good as Fungles site because 1/ the park has lost potential space to hold yearly events (e.g Sun scream & Easter) 2/ they will have to relocate one of their scare mazes elsewhere (which for somewhere like Thorpe won't be easiest) 3/ a big metal building in the middle of the park will be a bit of an eyesore, obstruct park views and in general not be great for the layout. Despite being 10 years (almost) since the last flat installment, Thorpe doesn't need another for now but is in much need of some dark rides/immersive experiences. Towers has Hex, Duel, Sub_terra (among others) and Chessington has Tomb, Bubbleworks, Hocus and Zufari. Thorpe's only immersive experiences so far are tidal wave, Swarm and Angrybirds 4D and even that is really pushing the boat out.

I hope I didn't cause the ride to die, considering I went on it the day before it went down. Surely if this keeps happening to this ride where it dies at the end of the season, it doesn't have long left before it's removed.

Chessington needs a Mack launch coaster, it would suit the park perfectly. Destroy Peking and toadies and put it there. Falls, Tomb, Skyway and Bubbles need lots of refurbishment.
