  1. Extensive to the degree of rides being stripped down (or their main components) and/or the urgency to receive an annual operating inspection, making sure the ride is safe enough for operations next year.
  2. I don't think the price will change in terms of this event, however I hope Saw is on 8 cars all night and both rides are open all the time. Maybe they'll open the club earlier due to the lack of rides that night. I knew there would be a reduced lineup, but not like this, I expected X,swarm and stealth open if any rides would be open, but oh well. At least this means extensive closed season work will hopefully take place if the lineup this night is limited.
  3. It probably isn't, plus it questions me how much money would be left for upgrades after falls and minetrain's renovations next year (and maybe Ramesis). I'm certain it wouldn't bring back the third train on Vampire and even if it did, train 3 would require several new parts as parts have already been used on trains 1&2.
  4. The idea of a CBeebies land is an interesting concept and one I find will either go successfully or catastrophic. Providing they can get the green flag from the third party owners of the shows to do, we could have a nicely themed area, but get the red flag from most, then it could well be a great big disapointmrnt.
  5. Unfortunately though, Chessington have gone downhill this year, despite slight improvements from 2010. Went toChessi grown three times last year and still couldn't get enough go the place but gave only been once this year and only intend to return this to see a Haloween Hocus Pocus mainly just for the Hocus Pocus revamp and night rides (which I've never done). Though the revamp looks to have big potential, there's still many problems including the park having 2 main rides down (plus a few closed at dusk too) which then means the remaining rides have more demand which with this years operations and the fact one of the parks biggest and popular rides will only be running on 60% or less of its capacity. In addition, the park will still close an hour early from previous (and better years) meaning you may only get 1-2 for nights which for a time when darkness is the main centre, is not good.
  6. Thanks for the help Fish , however I think it only saves 20% (according to the site) and it's unlikely they'll allow me to have NUS discount on top of the 25% renewal reduction rate.
  7. After posting on Chessington's Facebook recently, it seems that we won't be getting any rides during zoo days this year. Chessington Resort/ Hi Matthew, thank you for your lovely message. Our Zoo days include access to the Zoo and SEA LIFE centre but not our rides as they are being developed for 2014! Hope that answers your query and our animals look forward to seeing you soon! Looks like we won't be getting any winter rides this year.
  8. This all sounds like a real stomach puncher for the park, having all these tight and iffy restrictions and being prevented from any major expansion is pure stupidity, as how is a business expected succeed if they are condemned expansion. Also, the following issues which are/will occur in the future, They won't be able to install anything as large as vampire when the rides removed Zufari, must be made back in to a grassy field when it's removed Nothing as tall as furys lift hill can be placed on its site If Kingston council are still as stingy as they are now when these happen (which is likely), then I can't see how the park could carry on and can continue progressing (as a themepark at least). Wake up Kingston council, stop being so obnoxious and arrogant and see how this top uk themepatk is boosting the economy!
  9. Swarm in the dark is brilliant and if you're timings well with fire, then it's even more impressive. Backwards in the dark is brilliant as you feel you're being dragged through the air and everything becomes distorted in the meantime. Shame I got stuck on the ride for 10 minutes due to a breakdown during my last ride on fright night preview.
  10. Happy Birthday Ian, have a great day.
  11. Hi all, My annual pass will be expiring in less than a months time and I was wondering what the best and cheapest way would be to renew it. I currently hold a premium pass, but due to greater expenses this year may have to downgrade to a standard which is something I don't really wish to do because it would mean paying for parking and £5 every time I visit a fright night. I wish to pay at least 30% less than full price, what's the best way to get pass reductions at this time of year?
  12. Kingston Cancel are also one of the reasons why Chessington suddenly reverted in to a family park as the park wanted to build a B&M In mexicana, but then the cancel didn't let it happen so then they decided to revert to family rides which many of those also cannot be built because of them. I haven't spelt council wrong above, I've just written I like that because I despise them for limiting their development and as they don't have the room like towers, it becomes nearly impossible to add anything new there.
  13. Don't take this too seriously, but there are rumours floating around that Chessie could be seeing a new (and what would be much needed) roller coaster built at the park in the future (perhaps 2015). What it would be, where it would go and the size and scale are a mystery to me but I really hope this happens.
  14. I would love to do brave it alone, however due to the fact my sister and friends are going to the same day (they're not plus one's), it is unlikely I will be staying later after 10pm. I would really to do brave it alone but doubt I will.
  15. A wooden coaster would suit Chessington perfectly. If only Merlin knew the greatness of woodies and Kingston council were not so stringy about planning permission. Also, where would they place the ride as Chessie don't really have a lot of unoccupied space and the only ride I can see leaving the park in the next few years is toadies.
  16. Well comparing this year to previous ones, I wouldn't say it's the best one we've had by the looks (the opening hours really not helping) but definitely looks better than last years so far. I've never been to a Hocus Pocus event before (and would like to visit one) however, that may not be for a while yet.
  17. Probably the amount of times Jacks ridden Inferno this year.
  18. Looks abit like one of those rapid pool rides you find at some water parks. This is the first I've ever seen Rumba like that, must be a broken whirlpool machine.
  19. HappyBirthday Sidders, have a great day.
  20. In terms of charging £50 for Fright Bights, it's a lot of money and very pricey which it seems now the £50 themepark charge barrier has just been reached. However if you look at the current aspects below, it does justify the extra £5 charge for fright nights (in most ways). 1/ the park is open for up to 12 hours (giving those who arrive around the start a long park day) 2/ There are three mazes & a scare zone added to the lineup 3/ the only (real) time of the year to experience night rides (within a full day ticket) 4/ most people may buy online or use recouping to reduce costs So to most it's quite a fees able up charge however not worth paying if your only visiting for a few hours on a peak fright nights.
  21. In summary to me, the ride looks fairly so far (bar the warehouse shed) .plus I'm certain the ride's theming seems to replicate Thi3teen's in places (in pictures 2&3 above).
  22. I wonder if they'll do any treating to the ride for 2014 to try and improve the experience and teething troubles they had this year. Must admit, think I'm due another ride on the Smiler.
  23. I'm absolutely certain, they won't be using the goblins because they have nothing to do with the new Haloween storyline. As for the attraction itself, I think it could do with a refresh maybe now, as after all parts of the attraction are looking worn and old plus it is 10 years old now. However this new storyline has lots of new potential and could make for an excellent experience which could even shape for a revamped version of Hocus Pocus for 2014. I love the new soundtrack for the attraction too which sounds almost like something you'd hear in a Tim Burton film and is even better than the current/old theme used on the ride which was also quite good.
