Will the UK ever produce another world class coaster?
for me, 2012 looks like it could spawn some world class rides. the swarm has the potential to do so, nemesis sub terra is a bit of an oddball, but still has a chance.honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if the next world class attraction doesn't actually happen in a merlin park. I want the little man to win once in a while.

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
If it makes you feel better, getting your head chopped off would add to the theming??Sorry, uh, the window of space will probably be large enough though.

THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
That's always fun. And I'd never realised before that sex in public is frowned upon!
-
Closed Season
I saw the video of that actually. However, one Internet news site seemed to think that the ride had fallen over?!

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I'm confused... Why are we Discussing how windy the ride will be?

Parks, Rides And Coaster News
Me thinks it might be just a little bit delayed

MTDP
just quoting a rumour here, but supposedly there is a long term plan to move parking onto the opposite side of the road, opening up the current car park for expansion, and a citywalk style area

THE SWARM: Construction Updates

Walt Disney World Resort
the eyes freak me out.

Legoland
when I was younger, we always went right down to the bottom of the park, onto dragon, and moved anti-clockwise.of course, back then the only way to get to the bottom of the hill was either to walk to the left or go on the hill train, so it would be 30 minutes before you reach the bottom.capacity is just ridiculous. I mean, the park is huge, so park capacity is massive, but then 70% of rides can't handle the numbers.

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Which could mean that the copter is already on site, maybe even in place!

THE SWARM: Construction Updates

THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories

The Smiler
I have to agree, while it's not as obvious as other inversions, I can see what you mean about them possibly being corkscrews
-
The Smiler
I can definitely imagine some more inversions inside the building, or at least, that would be where the world's first would be.
-
THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
is it only me who thinks the potential for this at fright nights will be something unlike anything else? I can see a scare zone, or at least a swarm maze on the island!
-
The Smiler
oh right, thanks for this. it makes a lot more sense, and is very helpful to see.so there are 8 inversions outside, two lift hills (of some sort), some type of theming, and a very large indoors area (is the station building 50ft tall or something?) which may include more in it?this will definitely be one of the most interesting coasters in the UK, at least until we work out what happens inside the building.

SAW: The Ride
I have to agree. I've been on saw multiple times, in a range of weathers, and have never had a rough ride.
-
The Smiler
I'm struggling to understand the plans as well. Am I right in thinking that the track must either leave or enter the station... through the maintenence building?! That seems very strange. Also, can someone point out where the lift hills are, because for some reason I can't seem to be able to find them on the site plan.P.S. How come alton have gotten away with just saying the dimensions for the theming, where as thorpe had to show the whole plane thing?

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Just wondering, how fast is this likely to be?
-
THE SWARM: Construction Updates
To be honest, we are getting everythig they promised...and more. I mean, we are getting a water splash effect so... Is a bit of rain really that important??
-
THE SWARM: Construction Updates
isn't fireproof paint black?I know, wishful thinking :(however, I do think that when this is completed, it will not only be one of the best coasters in the UK, but also the best looking.I am about to dare say... that, for me, this is a contender to beat nemesis.I had to say it. please don't hurt me!

Improving Thorpe Park
because where as Colossus is largely surrounded by plants, which blocks out the sun, and nemesis never seems to bad. stealth has the tall hedge which helpsalso, have you queued on a really sunny day? it seems like the hottest place in the park IMO

Improving Thorpe Park
for me, it would have to be: repaint Colossus themed lands rapids to get a refurb so that you get wet saw queue covered with a canopy or something
