Thorpe Park Opening Trip 2014
The weather was great today; met up with some of the TPM members by chance. As with everything, loads of new staff being shown the ropes; several of the rides experiencing teething problems. A bit odd, that most of the aforementioned changes/improvements still either not existing or being worked on. Many of the previous tatty bits still remaining. I had forgotten that I don't normally go on a Saturday so I was surprised by the amount of youngsters there, doh!

As others have mentioned, the area available governs the distance of the launch track, and therefore the achievable height off that launch, relatively speaking.

Park Map
I can just see Slammer still hiding in there - words like "fingertips" and "skin of teeth" come to mind.

Hope the restraints work whilst it's on its side.

Annual Pass Day
Hi Han, odd thing for most people is I don't count, and it is dependent on the team on the ride; it is a lot and I have a figure I use for last year. (interesting figures when the vertical distance is multiplied) New team this season, so have to do some work. (nuts I know)

Annual Pass Day
Sorry this won't be helpful I believe that it was the contact office on the event page? https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/thorpe-park-passholders-members-preview-weekend-tickets-10290235371 Cannot find it in my email so I suspect I dumped it in anger. Planenut

Annual Pass Day
That's very kind, thank you. Pluk, that is my aim, though I have already promised I must, I really must, have a look at other things.

Annual Pass Day
Well I've now got myself booked and will see what happens on the day.

What it must be like for the designers and park with apparently little restrictions from planning regulations - no chance that any Merlin park would get this in.

Annual Pass Day
I know it won't bother the Merlin pass holders, but I was more than annoyed that as a Thorpe Park Annual Pass holder I will not get in on this.

This really looks a further great excuse to visit this park, one day soon I hope.

Flooding
I think that if the Staines Road out of Chertsey became impassible then that would be TP cut off.

This is good news, more people in the shop - less people in the queue!

Rant
Ellie, I too am sorry that you have had to endure this, but remember that it is the behaviour of others that moulds our own character and proves that you are the better one. Well done, and look forward to the future.

Indeed a Zaperla Air Race, quite a ride, and if you're ill, you'll be sharing it with everybody. http://www.zamperla.com/en/zamperla-details-rides-air_race_6

Thorpe Park Annual Pass
(cannot place this in General Discussion) On the Thorpe Park site now, TP Annual Passes £55.60, that's gotta be good value if you don't envisage going to any other Merlin attraction, or even doing two others at full price....? http://thorpepark.com/prices/annual-passes.aspx?tabnum=2

Closed Season
Great pics. I would love to climb Stealth's top hat. wouldn't it be interesting to see a train totally stripped down, as we only really see the dressed item.

I would prefer the original format of sound system, though I think it's about time we had a "second tape". I see what people mean by the illumination in the dark for the Fright Nights, very pleasing.
