Took a year out of education to get some money for Uni (and to rediscover a desire to learn, after my Sixth Form made me hate the education system) and still haven't actually been accepted for a job, no matter how many I apply to. Guess that's the curse of living in the middle of nowhere.

I just gotta say, more water rides = happy Craaig. But yeah, it's very unlikely.
-
Track looks so thin and weedy next to the beefy thick Oblivion track. :')

Sounds like a pretty interesting course to study, or I imagine so anyway XD And yeah, I had noticed a few people here go to Portsmouth, which is pretty cool, as long as I stay around and keep getting to know all you guys, I might vaguely know one or 2 people come September, which sounds good to me!
-
Applied Physics, something I've always been interested in, geeky though it is :L what course are you on? I know there are many courses but my cousin went down this year.. would be amusing if you guys were on the same course or something.
-
Yeah, I applied last year and deferred when I got my results through, so I'm already in, woo Was looking at somewhere self-catered (I really hate being a fussy eater) with an en-suite (I really don't care if it's horrible, I need my own bathroom O__O), so I was split between Harry Law and Langstone, which apparently you can go self-catered in. Langstone is cheaper, but Harry Law is much closer to the venues (I'm not a 'club/alcohol' person, I'd rather just get a ticket for a gig and have a coke) and train station. But then it's more expensive, and I'm not sure if I'll be taking a car. So both have their ups and downs for me, I guess. Kinda swinging towards Langstone right now.

From your posts I guess your at Portsmouth.. what halls would you recommend? Took a 'gap year' this year to get some money together for Uni.. now I'm just panicking about accommodation.. even though there are like 7 months left. :')
-
New near-miss sounds interesting.. a 'devastated billboard'?
-
I don't mean to cause a problem, but I definitely only see 4 rows on the train inverted over the 'spider'. Not that it's important.
-
Anything could happen I guess, it's only promotional art.. promotional art that has differing numbers of rows on different trains...
-
From the Getcorrected page. Lexicon? What does a lexicon have to do with anything?
-
That's a fair point. Some elements may even be enhanced by the backwards seating - that drop is gonna be very odd, and the water skim should be awesome. EDIT: Wouldn't it be nice if it was something none of us saw coming. Like non-static wings, like 4D coasters.
-
And the spider is still in the artwork, so they're definitely putting it in. Awesome.

I think I can only express my feelings on this with 2 characters:
-
The snow seems to work very well in the rides favour if you ask me, in almost a dead-feeling, apocalyptic Silent Hill covered-in-ash type way, if anyone knows what I mean...
-
The backwards could refer to, effectively, turning the X cars backwards. But maybe I'm just being hopeful.. it seems a shame to go messing around adding gimmicks to a beautiful, practically new, B&M.
-
Give it a month or so and we'll all be looking back at the days we contemplated Swarm turning around and laugh. Hopefully.
-
Could be nothing to do with it and they're just messing with our heads. Would it be the first time? ...probably...
-
The more they say these silly things the more it vaguely sounds like the Swarm back 2 rows turning. But it isn't. It can't be. Right? Right.
-
Awesome, thanks for that. I'll look into booking up when I get some money through..

Wasn't X:/ originally themed around a computer virus or something of the like? And maybe not computer viruses, but biological viruses do evolve... Yeah I know where my money's placed for this one.

Just out of curiosity, in school termtime in mid April (after the Easter hols this year), does the park tend to be busy? I just thought it could be because it's pretty early in the park's season, with the Snoozebox too, and it'd be nice if we could get there for 2 fairly quiet days (looking at booking a Snoozebox room for a few people). Thanks guys

Seem as though I'm a poor kid with no car living in the middle of nowhere and Uni in September... I'm hoping to get a singular Thorpe trip in. Anything else, anywhere, is a bonus.
-
I bet it's the return of CCR.

Yeah, I feel that the popularity of a non full-on thrill ride would be low with the rebranding they've had over recent years. It's only a matter of time before they either go back on their word so they are able to install other rides, or have to remove a lot of older rides (Depth Charge and Storm Surge's days are numbered in that case). Coaster-wise I'd love to see something non-gimmicky as almost everyone else has been saying, be it a woodie or Megacoaster or whatever, but then as previously pointed out the lack of gimmick may not bring in the crowds..
