Looking at the local feedback from the consultations that was published a few days ago, I bet this thing is more than likely to go ahead! So excited, even though it's 5 years away haha

Hopefully they get planning permission before they start building this time haha

I agree, maybe the ticket is key! LC, it's no use saying R&R will never work, because they obviously have reason to believe it will in the future. You repeat your same argument over and over and exaggerate every point you make. You hate the system, we get that, but Thorpe Park aren't going to read your posts and decide to scrap the entire thing.

Seems like a Dive Coaster is the obvious rumour to make up though, given that it's one of only a few B&M models they don't have.

Am I the only one that thinks Sub Terra was actually really fun and a bit of a laugh? I can see it has it's bad points, but I don't get the serious hate for it.

Well they have no new rides this year, so why try and push old rides when you only have a few seconds to push your new investment? Besides I think the British public know what Alton Towers is by now. Oh and there's two roller coasters at the end of the advert, so they've hardly "forgotten" have they...

^ Oh the ITV news 'report' was terrible, but the actual adverts (which is what we're talking about) were good in my opinion. By hinting that the drop exists, it made the rather generic coaster look so much more interesting! Although I agree about the whole 'psycoaster' thing or whatever it was. That part was awful.

Well considering the world's first free-fall drop is it's selling point, it made sense to show it.

Thorpe Park obviously, probably Alton Towers for a long weekend at the hotel... And hopefully WDW! I've got the money, I just hope me and my mate's work allows the holiday :L Oh and Efteling hopefully, just so I can whore Baron 1898 when it opens <3

Merlin aren't the only ones to charge lots though. I mean I'm planning a holiday to WDW next year and it's going to cost me about £2000 for less than two weeks, how is that not the same as Merlin? Yes, the Disney experience is much more magical and on paper provides more, but you could say Merlin parks provide the high-thrill attractions.My three day weekend at Alton Towers in May cost just under £1000 for four of us. Not exactly cheap but the customer service was fantastic all day every day, the hotels were clean and all the queues (except Smiler) were below 20 minutes all weekend. For short breaks like that I think AT are right to charge so much. It felt like quality and they really did everything to make it special. I agree Merlin do charge a little too much for most of their products, but to hate Merlin because of it is silly as they're certainly not the only company to do so! Like I said in another topic this constant Merlin bashing is getting so frustrating. Everyone's entitled to an opinion, so if you hate Merlin and Thorpe Park that much, don't give them money and never visit the parks? Simple as tbh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
