When I was in the STEALTH control booth yesterday on the backstage tour I could hear the ride controller talking to a manager and the manager was saying the queue was 50 minutes but the controller was saying it was 20 so even in the booth there is confusion as to how long it is, disregarding r&R for a second they need a way of accurately measuring queue times with a system that will constantly adapt to the actual throughput so as to give as much of a realistic time as possible and banish the stories of " it said 20 minutes but we actually waited an hour"

Anyone else noticed in the queue at the bottom of the stairs where the fastrack joins the normal queue the base of the 'volcano' has been burrowed into and now has a big gaping hole in it? Its gotten bigger since the beginning of the year!

Yesterday from the Nemesis Inferno station on the other side of the access road I could see loads of now concrete breeze blocks stacked up, also there were surveyors all day around the outside of the arena taking measurements and I news talking to my VIP host who says the marking of the trees could relate to a ride as that area is "the most likely site for a new ride" however the ride is still only in the rumour phase. Also the island by SWARM isn't planned to be used for a while but its just been infilled so whenever they do they can almost skip a step in the construction phase and just start building

The queue for Rush was 40 minutes and the nemesis queue was 58 minutes so it worked out well, I do understand your point in theory completely however I stayed over & went on 2 very busy days and the queues for the flats were not excessive, however this might've been because of the normal queue on the 'top 5' still being used, however either way somehow on the two busy days I was there it worked

I did it yesterday and I must say the system worked extremely well! Loved standing in the queue for rush whilst still "virtually queueing" for Nemesis Inferno also loved the fact that you joined from the fastrack rather than thw beginning of the standing queue. Only problems I noticed were Colossus had its r&R queue by where the queue for the cabin in the woods joins the main path and most people couldn't see the r&R person at the other end and so didn't know what it was for. Also the swarm had no person controlling the ratio of r&R, fastrack & normal queue so by the bag drop off it was chaos. Sadly for the people that don't like the system I was talking to my VIP host who said that THORPE is aiming to make the r&R system the only way to queue for the top 5 coasters next season. After using thw system I must say I have been converted and I would like to see it implemented once it has been tweaked slightly

Went on a backstage tour yesterday and I have been told a few things that are of interest, firstly asylum was going to be closed last year anyway as THORPE wanted to have all lionsgate mazes but wanted to give it its last 8th season to match that of its previous the freezer, which also had an 8 year run. Also the complaint and subsequent bad press was basically brushed off by THORPE as any press is good press as it drew peoples attention, and also I was told that virtually every year they receive complaints about their mazes that they offend someone and so THORPE basically don't worry TOO much about this kind of problem unless it got out of hand. I also know that The Asylum is definitely being replaced by a new lionsgate maze and apparently according to my host ( who ran one of the mazes last year) lionsgate are going to do something amazing with it that is going to 'outdo asylum'. Also this will be the 13th frightnight and so they are also going to do something special for it and it will be "the best fright night so far". I also asked about angrybirds land and I was told it would be open normally until 2 when all of the removable themeing will be taken away and new horror themeing will be added for firght night opening at 3, the themeing will then be removed to the original angrybirds themeing again at 11 after park close. Also the music during the frightnight hours in angeybirds land will change. All of this was given to me by one of the people who runs the mazes and as far as she was aware is true

They had a display in the cinema ground floor showcasing all vintage things from when the park was open, didn't get to look as I only drove past but I saw some old ride parts and machines etc

Can anyone tell me what picture 9 (the one looking through like a window) is showing and where from and what is thw last pictures sign blocking access to?
-
When I went last summer the entire queue was used and it was still coming out of the entrance and onto the path!

Just got sent the pre-arrival email from THORPE. Has the 1hr of fastrack always been like that?: "In the morning, Hotel guests and Annual Pass holders will be given First to Ride access to the Theme Park approximately 15 minutes before opening time. You will then have Fastrack access to all available rides from the time the gates are opened to the general public for one hour!"

OMG YES.

I've been past it a couple of days ago and its literally abandoned, weeds growing everywhere to the point of not being able to walk through, vandalism, busted fences, concrete ground with cracks and holes, if I didn't know about the plans on here I would have no idea, no VISIBLE work has happened. The main entrance is still abandoned with the sign falling down and again, the building looking hideous and obviously uncared for. They've got a lot of work to do on the site and so far there is not a single sign of any work happening other than in a workshop somewhere. I can only hope that they have the money to do all the work on the ground because it needs a lot just to get it looking useable again! I really do hope this project is successful as that end of Margate needs a real boost! The other end has the Turner Centre which, against most peoples first opinions, really brought up Margate old town and the whole area its in, the dreamland area however... Its like benefits street but on the coast

"The launch cable is good for 25,000 launches but once used 25,000 times, it will need to be changed. The cable is changed two times every season. To put this into perspective, it is going to be changed the week commencing 28th July 2014." From: http://www.themeparkguide.biz/vip-thorpe-park.php These guys did the backstage tour on Stealth and the date they say matches with THORPEs one as they are thr same week so it seems pretty likely.

Would they not close the queues for the rides that would be open for the Summer Nights earlier say at half 6 or 6 (although 6.30 seems more reasonable) and keep open the non Summer Nights rides right up until 7?
-
I'm 6ft and I find it rough in any seat but the biggest problem for me is the leg room or extreme lack of for my height, also getting on or off having to climb under/ around the restraints in such a small space is always difficult and usually results in a head bang -.-

I'm staying over on the night of the 22nd, doing some vip stuff and then doing the summer nights on the 23rd. I'll be sure to let you all know how it works on a busy summer holiday day, not really sure what to expect tbh.
