I've seen low water levels blamed on several sites, this could explain why the first boat got stuck. Then, since that boat is lower, it would be possible for the second boat to slide on top. Really sad, horrible accident

Hi @CharlieN, in order to add the crowd calendar page I need to know the opening hours for 2014 and 2015. If you have a map or anything with them on, a photo of the calendar section would be great, then if I have time I'll add the past days to the site.

It would be interesting to know actually how much it costs to rent out

Added another page, which helps to visualise how busy the park has been on days gone by. Link to the thorpe page https://queue-times.com/parks/2/crowd_levels

After cadbury was bought by Mondelez it's all gone to **** really, I would say Mondelez has slightly better ethics (but not much better), both are pretty evil companies as far as I'm concerned. Automatic or Manual (or even Electric)?

Sorry to bump an ancient topic, I'm trying to build up data on historical ticket prices for theme parks across the UK. I've put what I've got so far in a google sheets document, so you can view the data for yourself, and more importantly if anyone can help fill in the gaps, I would be very thankful (the sheet is set to allow comments). Here is a link to the document.

The funny thing is this entire news story stems from one guy who tweeted a photo of some people stuck on the ride. The local paper then saw this, ran with the story and now its getting attention from the national media.

http://www.teaconnect.org/images/files/TEA_160_611852_160525.pdf Honestly what surprises me is that Legoland Windsor had more visitors than Legoland Billund, for some reason I thought the original would be more popular.

Cedar point now has an app, which has the data - all it took was a little bit of tinkering. I made a few changes to the crowd calendar page, now its sort of like how it was before, for days in the future the colour shows how busy I predict it to be, and then for days in the past the colour shows how busy it actually was. Click on any day in the past and you can see wait times for that entire day. See it here.

Been keeping myself busy, Cedar point has now been added to the site, I intend to add the other cedar fair parks soon https://queue-times.com/parks/50/queue_times

I was just so surprised at how forceful the final helix was, especially at the very back. The dino tour thing was a good laugh, and I thought the animatronic dinosaurs were fab.

Looks like someone's getting fired.

And the number of pirate ship rides you do at GCSE for pendulums
-
Just revising physics A level, came across this past exam question: I mean it's a little fast but yay anyway.

I would say that looks quite serious, some kind of maintenance problem no doubt - really concerning that procedures aren't in place that would stop something like this from happening in the first place.

There isn't 3d printing technology available that would be capable of printing something of that time in anything less than a few hours, which clearly wouldn't work very well.

Was messing around with some of the data you can get from google, they have this thing that shows the interest in different search terms, so I tried it for Thorpe Park's rollercoasters, here's the graph: Notice the spike in June 2015 after the Smiler accident A maybe better graph

Also assuming the track is drawn to scale (which it is safe to say it is) it is 1.4m wide - this is not wide enough for two tracks next to each other.

on http://riderater.co.uk/4809/alton-towers-seeks-permission-for-wooden-ride/they mention I can't find the raw planning documents annoyingly.

I know Thorpe aren't keen on you taking photos of on ride photos, but on a legal basis is there anything they can actually do about it? As you're not actually copying the photo directly (doing so would require you somehow get onto the computers in the photo booth and copy the photo from there) surely you're exempt from any copyright laws there. Yes they could tell you off and ban you from ever entering the park, but realistically would they actually do this.

Swarm is probably the least forceful, if you go on that you'll probably come out wondering what the big deal was about.
