  1. Yeah I was most likely reading into something that wasn't intended but Doctor Who came to mind after all the rumours that it could be the theme for this. The plans still scream Hunger Games to me and I personally think that would suit the park more than Doctor Who, but both themes would undoubtedly be very popular. I wish Merlin weren't so secretive but hopefully we'll hear something soon...
  2. I tweeted Thorpe Park yesterday and asked if we'll hear anything about the 2016 attraction soon, and their response was 'You will have to keep your eyes peeled'. I'm probably reading into that far too much, but with Doctor Who being one of the rumoured themes for the ride the first thing that came to mind was the Blink episode with the weeping angels. I assume that this attraction was planned as a counter-attack to the Paramount Park which will include BBC themed attractions, so it strikes me as odd that Thorpe would go with a BBC IP for this.
  3. Any ideas when the park will start marketing this or when we'll hear anything about the theme or storyline? I still have a strong suspicion that this will be another Lionsgate collaboration and be a Hunger Games ride.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm a first time poster here. As a big fan of dark rides I've been following news of this project closely and am very excited that we could finally be getting a next-gen dark ride in the UK After seeing Mockingjay Part 1 last week I think The Hunger Games is very likely to be the IP for this ride. I agree that the exterior themeing looks a lot like District 12 and the entrance gate is very similar to the entrance of Victor's Village, and I can picture the 'Join The Mockingjay!' propaganda videos from the film playing as part of the pre-show/queue. I think there's a strong possibility that this ride will follow the Mockingjay plot and be based around the rebels fighting against the Capitol, and as this is due for 2016 they would be able to use visual elements from the Mockingjay Part 2 film. I think Hunger Games would suit the park much better than Doctor Who, which I personally think would be a much better fit at Alton Towers.
