  1. Considering the effects it's had on the trains around the UK, it probably is!
  2. I really hope this turns out to be the case, even if the story was perfect in it's current state, it would get boring after a few goes. If the story changes then it would keep people coming back continuously! I imagine it'd be a middling investment in order to redo the VR, change the sequence of the train movement and maybe replace the live action section every few years.
  3. To be fair to TfL, they don't advertise having air-con, and are actually adding it in the next few years on some lines (sorry for getting so off-topic!)
  4. Ah that would make sense, thought it could be that
  5. What I still don't understand is how the train after the live action section gets back to the start place, since it must be further back in the building and I don't remember it moving sideways at all
  6. Applies to anything really, the people who enjoy something/find it okay are usually the ones who don't say anything but the people who think negatively of something often voice their opinions.
  7. Thorpe are saying it's so busy due to the good weather and school trips, at least the latter will be gone in a week or so!
  8. Oh no your point is very true, I was just saying originally there was no reason for it to be rendered compared to being a video, which I thought you were referencing, sorry if I didn't come across like that the first time! I'm sure it has all the extra stuff you said about, which does make it a very complex ride In response to everyone saying VR isn't good and such: it has been used well on the Ghost Train imo, even though I still thought it could be improved. (I'd say why I think it works well but it'd be spoiling parts of the ride)
  9. Well what else is it going to be? When it comes down to it VR is a screen in a headset with accelerometers in
  10. Proposed building with a short queue line... Fasttrack booth?
  11. Thorpe said on their Facebook that they were finalising some things for Fright Nights and so hadn't released the tickets
  12. 1 - Probably won't happen as long as VR keeps improving! 2 - While that will likely happen one day, I doubt it will be soon considering the cost and the current state of VR Thing is there is no reason for the computers to render the CGI on the go instead of just playing an already-rendered version of the CGI as there is no interaction from the user involved. The video will always be the same, which makes me wonder a lot as to why it is so low quality, my guess goes to whoever Thorpe hired to make it just isn't very experienced in CGI, or they didn't pay them much!
  13. Thorpe Posted this trailer to their Facebook too, looks promising! https://www.facebook.com/thorpepark/videos/10154172614915867/

The music in the pyramid is much better now (although it's not the same as it was in 2013) and it can be heard quite loud throughout the ride. I can tell it's all coming from one side of the building though, would make it perfect if they added the same volume speakers on all sides of the pyramid but I doubt that'll happen
  15. So I rode the Ghost Train today and I thought I'd post my experiences/review. (it's quite long, but I wanted to get all my thoughts out) Overall I'd give it a 6.5/10, I had enjoyed some of the ride, but found other parts disappointing. Although I imagine a lot of it can be improved in the future which I hope is the case! And I just wanted more to the story, it felt like I hadn't experienced it all.
  16. Chainsaw finale worked well on Studio 13, with the lights turning on and off and altogether just working well. I hope Platform 15 is done to a high standard and has some original ideas to it, Big Top last year was a disaster. Although Studio 13 the year before was very good in my opinion.
  17. I think those might be the days Thorpe is doing school workshops. Was meant to be going to one on the 15th myself!
  18. The seats at the front of each individual car have more space since there's the next row of seats are further away I think
  19. I take back my earlier comment http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-36758193
  20. It always amuses me how these articles only ever are published by red top newspapers (eg, the Mirror) and never by the decent newspapers (who obviously know it was a perfectly normal thing to happen at Thorpe).
  21. The train puns are full steam ahead (I'm sorry )
  22. Teacher at my sixth form organising a trip to Thorpe Park said they told him on the phone that the ride should be open by the time they go (next week)

I hope it's not, really love that ride!

At the end of the day it might just be down to the third car having some sort of problem with it. We're only judging the restriction from a member of staff who might have just been guessing that why there were only two cars
