The dome (the bit you'll walk through shortly after entering the park) has many places to sit and has the Coffee Shack which servers hot drinks. Alternatively there are a lot of places around the park selling hot drinks from stands, if you buy from them you can just go and sit on a bench somewhere This map shows all the places to get drinks, you can pick one up at the park entrance on the day too: https://queue-times.com/parks/2/queue_times

Full news article on the BBC in case anyone wants to read it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-36635086 Is M&Ds a temporary funfair then or a permanent theme park?

There seemed to be plenty of speakers around, but they only got used to play the announcements. Pretty sure they played music before, but I can't be sure because I never noticed them before.
-
Maybe there was just a problem when I went, only seemed to be coming out the speakers by the animatronic, and not the rest of the speakers.

Visited Chessington yesterday, was surprised how quiet the music is on Vampire now, you can hardly hear it in the station! Much prefered it when it was really loud. Does anyone know if it being quiet was just a one-off or it's a permanent change?

Just wondering what your opinions are on getting a Merlin Annual Pass are? My Thorpe Park pass expires at the end of this week and I've been wondering if it's worth buying a Merlin Pass instead of just another Thorpe pass.
-
What part of the music comes out of the bass cannons? Is it just the rumbling in the background? Never realised there was a woofer above the entrance until lately, makes the queue music sound really good!
-
Might very well be since it sounds a bit like a tube train announcement. Although from my experience delay announcements usually aren't themed and they're just the ride operator addressing the queue instead.
-
Didn't know that He wasn't really posting in the right place to be sharing stuff about the ride really anyway
-
I think this was the case, as far as I can remember! Any idea why they put them on? I've always assumed H&S changed their minds on the ride or something similar
-
Ah okay, was just a thought!

This has probably already crossed everyone's mind but is this Insider guy the same person who was posting stuff on Instagram? Personally I'd think a timed system would only exist if all the cars aren't finished, as someone said before. Can't imagine Merlin/Thorpe would want to enforce a timed system if they don't have to! Only ride I remember having it before was the Jungle Coaster at Legoland, and as far as I remember it went away after a while. (it wasn't for opening, can't really remember why it happened).

Had to listen to this for an entire hour when queueing once! XD And then I had it stuck in my head for the rest of the day, it's like some sort of sick advertising!!
-
Talking of competition, when Paramount London finally arrives that might give Merlin a bit of a run for their money!
-
They might only have the licence to play it at Fright Nights though, could that be a possibility? Most likely answer is they decided people would get bored of hearing it on the ride, although it would be nice to hear at some point!

Well it changed back to UNAVAILABLE if that's worthy of knowing

Alton seems to care about what their park look like lately, just have a look at their Tower's Loving Care Twitter page: https://twitter.com/AltonTLC

I'm not 100% sure about this but I think the way in which these fast food chains work is a person or company builds, runs, and owns the store themselves. But they pay a (very big) fee to be able to use the chain's branding and have to buy a very specific set of ingredients/equipment etc... Basically what I'm saying here is it'll be completely up to Thorpe/Merlin if they stay or go when the contract ends. Imo they'd be a bit crazy to get rid of them, there's always hundreds of people in them each weekend!

Judging from what I read on a sign in Chessington once, I think it doesn't mean there will be stairs, just that the maximum distance you will ever be from an emergency exit is 50 steps.

I doubt this had anything to do with it but I emailed Thorpe Park about a few problems back when I went on the preview day, The I'm a Celeb Music in Inferno's queue and the music being far too quiet inside the pyramid on X and now they've fixed them both! Either Thorpe Park have really decided to put the effort into listening and responding to feedback or it just happened to line up with their improvement works! (most likely) Out of interest does anyone know if they've added more speakers or anything inside the pyramid to make it louder? And is it deafening loud like it used to be (that's the way I like it!)
