The second new maze is called doom town, some sort of 'zombie mixed with 80s' maze. The 80s thing is slightly odd, is that some sort of nod to trailers which also has a slight 80s theme..? I think although a zombie maze isn't very original, at least it has the potential to live up to that 10/10 scare rating.. lets see. The teaser/announcement video they posted I found quite long winded and I switched off đ Also sorry if I missed but does anyone know where this one will be located? Description: Hell is bubbling over and the dead rise to walk in the realm of living. The molten evil rises and seeps out from every opening, every passageway into a purgatory of a time gone by. Doom Town is governed by evil and inhabited by the dead; walking corpses whose only need is to earn back their place back in Hell. Find sanctuary if you can. Find a Priest. Find salvation. Not even the church can stop the Hell Mouth from opening wide and spitting from them an army of the dead. Dare you enter Doom Town? Will you be the saviour of the past? Or will you be trapped forever in an 80âs Video-Nasty? Use your⌠BRAINSâŚ

So they've so far announced darkest depths, the attic and altonville mine tours are returning for scarefest this year, and a new 'scare experience' on the way. I've heard people mention they've seen movement in the nemesis sub terra building, so whether that is related I don't know! I do think something using the wicker man theme could be a good choice, though not sure where they'd put it. Now I've not done any of these returning mazes, however from a quick look at their socials, many people are complaining that some of these mazes have been around maybe 6 years now and perhaps they could have done with a bigger reshuffle for the anniversary. If I went annually to scarefest, I imagine I'd have felt the same also. I'm also hoping they have some decent non-maze things going on, scare zones etc would be great, something akin to the crows of mawkin meadow would be ideal for them imo.
-
The back to back could be a very practical idea- for families/groups of 4 they can face each other which would be nice. Although I imagine for people you don't know it would be slightly awkward depending on how close the seats are hah. I think another (family) coaster is what chessington has needed for a while to divert demand from rattlesnake/dragons fury/vampire so great to see this sort of investment happening, with an IP that parents (and grandparents) will also recognise. Given the jumanji brand has been around since 1995, I imagine it'll stay relevant for a good while yet.

I enjoyed the location of the crows by the lake with the smoke machines etc created a great atmosphere, so I am glad to hear it will be extended- that saw alive queue line really needs taking down at some point. On my last visit we went via the crows where we could, as from memory there wasn't a queue so I am pleased its returning- I also think the mask/makeup and costuming for the crows is pretty striking imo. Given the detail in the Trailers set, I doubt they'll do a major change of the layout for a good few seasons yet personally, but I don't think thats an issue given the effort thats gone into it. The new maze is also giving me slight Se7en vibes where each room was based on a different deadly sin, so different fears concept sounds similar. I don't think that layout changed much either but the actors really gave it their all in each room so it was fantastic on each of my run throughs

yes I was going to say this- I think I remember the ground literally becoming like a boggy swamp where the queue line was so I do hope they sort it! However it was a nice size space so interesting to see what they do with it.

Does anyone have any experience of chessington's reserve and ride system? They've used it to replace fastpass and there are 3 levels- one where you wait virtually for the same time as the ride's advertised queue time, one where you wait 50% of that time, and another more akin to a true fast pass where you enter straight away. I'm not sure how new this is and whether there are still any teething issues. It does say in the FAQs sometimes the app says the ride is 'full' when the queue is very long, which slightly negates the benefit so I assume this doesn't happen very often. It reminds me of the thorpe reserve and ride they had at fright nights many years ago, and I guess similar to the systems at black mirror and DBGT with timed tickets in a way although of course this is not free. Thanks!

Interesting- wonder what they'll be doing to achieve that- more actors per person/smaller groups, more 'intense' theming or will it be this potential electric shock thing..? Looking at the website- it does look like they have 4 mazes at 9/10 so perhaps they do need to differentiate one or two (wastelands, cellar, chop shop and coven). On the website, as mat said, the question mark logo for the first 'new for 2022' is blue with an electric sort of design and is up near the 9/10 scare mazes, so I assume of course this one is going to be the 10. The second 'new for 2022' though is a differently themed question mark and is at the bottom of the list near to street theatre, so makes you wonder will it be an easygoing haunt, or not a haunt at all and maybe something new..? Also which will be the first announced I wonder? Either way I have my tickets sorted for tulleys so looking forward to it!

Shut up = stormzy the ride? or Mak(ing) your mind up = bucks fizz the ride? Seriously though this gibberish really is getting quite boring now. If you have something to share, share it by all means but not like this...

Quick question on Scarefest, I've never been when its on so apologies if its a bit basic (although this may not be the best place to ask it) - does anyone know if you can book a maze individually or do you have to book them all? On the website they have the entrance tickets and you can book '4 scare attractions', but some people I'm going with aren't that big on scare mazes so probably won't want to spend ÂŁ32 on top of the entrance fee on them. thanks!

The price of the breakout at bozo's maze is ÂŁ6 or ÂŁ4.80 for hotel guests and passholders. if I'm not mistaken that is cheaper than a fright nights maze, so I do think perhaps people may go for it, but yeah I guess we will see how successful it is. They did also say the maze is recommended for age 8+, that seems younger than for fright nights if I'm not mistaken?

Hi I found this advisory guide on the thorpe website for chest size: Saw - The Ride: 51 inches Stealth: 51 inches The Swarm: 51 inches Colossus: 51 inches Nemesis Inferno: 51 inches Quantum: 51 inches Vortex: 51 inches Based on that I would say you will be fine, although I would say that Colossus is probably the most compact of all so I would skip that one for comfort reasons. I'd also check out this review from someone who is a similar size and height to you (20 stone 48 chest).

Trying to work out if trolling or being serious...đ Last time I went to chessington I found it quite tired looking and whilst great for kids defo a bit dull for an adult lol (wasn't going for my benefit!), but thats fine as its a family park and we need those too. Disney is more of an all rounder. Timber tug/trawler trouble looks like a bigger, rustier version of something you might get outside a supermarket.

Most rides you've ever had on one attraction in a single day?
jessica2 replied to Matt N's topic in General Discussion
I think I managed more than 8 on Ramases revenge a long time ago. Stealth- 8 times I think is my record fairly recently (although I wasn't being that accurate with counting) and at the end of the day they allowed people to re-ride from the exit, partially because the front row queue was still fairly big. Also, a bit different as its a waterpark, but recently at Siam park in one day I did the Kinnaree 10 times and Singha 8, having to go up the stairs is the main obstacle by the end! -
I'm also interested in meets resuming! đ A summer meet (ideally not in school holidays though if it can be avoided) would be good!

The 'Definitely 100% Totally Going to Happen' London Resort
jessica2 replied to Liam T's topic in UK Attractions
More bad news for the potential new park, they've now withdrawn their application but plan to resubmit one before the end of the year. The main reason is because the area has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and apparently it is home to a critically endangered jumping spider... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-60911483 All seems a bit overkill for what is essentially a mostly brownfield site without much going for it, it seems the resistance it is facing is fairly material. -
I saw one of those signs was a google suggested search saying something about retirement age- any idea what that could be related to...? One of the other suggestions on it was Canadian retirement homes but I assume that's not going to be the theme hah! From theme park guide on twitter:

I agree that from that art on that board, something mountain related seems to be jumping out especially with the flag on the 'summit'. I think that could work well and makes sense as a theme with the height of it. but who knows - I do hope they only went with that red and yellow colour scheme to tie in with the BK building because its not really giving me any natural mountain vibes at all, more like the scheme you'd see in a 90s mcdonalds so wouldn't want the new building to have that(!) On swarm, I also saw you me at six are running a competition to ride it with them and they are going to be on the park I think on the 3rd May. I'm also not a huge fan of the posters but I guess some people I've spoken to after visiting the area didn't seem to pick up the alien theme, as the only place you really see it is on the ride vehicle, and even then not everyone notices so I guess they are just trying to make it more obvious.

So I made it to BPB yesterday (despite functioning on 4 hours sleep nursing a bit of a hangover). We were certainly lucky with the weather given the time of year which always helps. This was my first time to BPB so I'm not sure what I expected but one thing I did notice is the theming is, in many parts, pretty pants. My friend noted that a Germanic theme seemed to crop up in various places but other bits of theming we were a tad confused by (e.g. giant silver turtles, a blue horse..) but I guess that makes for a certain charm in a way. Some parts could probably have done with a fresh coat of paint. I do think the ticket price is a bit steep given the big one, grand national and valhalla are closed.! I overheard someone at the entrance was trying to persuade someone to pay the on the day price of ÂŁ48 by saying they had 30 'rollercoasters' open (perhaps they are confused what that word means(!)) We went on icon, infusion, big dipper, avalanche, revolution, steeplechase, river caves, the ghost train and a few smaller rides here and there e.g. flying machines, derby racer. I can't say I was completely blown away by any of the rides, I did very much enjoy icon, great fun and good airtime but it is extremely smooth and its missing that adrenaline rush you get from other launch coasters, perhaps it was because I was on the back row. My friend's favourite was steeplechase, due to how unusual it is I think. Avalanche surprised me on speed but unfortunately quite short! Infusion is a bit like a weak and uncomfortable version of nemesis inferno, although with some fun parts. On operations, other than steeplechase all the coasters were on one train (icon, infusion, big dipper, avalanche etc.) so although queues were very short you still waited 20+ minutes in some cases. For those interested, one of the gift shops sold a range of parts from valhalla, from wheels and seatbelts to what appeared to be long bits of metal, if that's your thing. Slightly off topic but if you're in the area, the water park is worth a visit, I enjoyed aztec falls, sidewinder and master blaster.

interesting- I assumed its because its the 21st anniversary and 21 is the 'key of the door' birthday, but who knows.
