The only maze that has had a newish film is Blair Witch. The rest from the past (cabin, my bloody valentine, se7en) are kinda old films now. I can’t think of any other mazes linked to recent movies... The return of se7en would be a surprise indeed ? Personally I think Blair witch, saw, and the two walking dead mazes are gonna be there along with platform 15. As Saw alive has the ride with it, I doubt the maze is going anywhere, plus the film franchise is very popular still with jigsaw out last year.

With the middle of the road scare rating. Maybe they’ll up the effort from the SF 3/5 experience (which generally equates to not many actors and therefore cheaper lol). maybe they think the other mazes are too ‘intense’ for thrill seakers so it’s a beginner Level 1 experience

It wouldn’t surprise me too much if it was as you say a lack of communication. I’m just being optimistic haha

Would make no sense for them to do that and then big top to not return... I reckon it’ll be there

I saw they posted on their Facebook a few minutes ago about the new ‘bear grylls adventure’ and I got worried that was this years new fright nights addition ?

Lol yeah I remember the circus of horrors in the Thorpe Park theatre ? back when se7en asylum and hellgate were the main mazes! Strange to have them at tulleys but there we go....

Fingers crossed big top or even a new maze will come and the line up will look a bit more fun!

I don’t think Sanctum is going anywhere anytime soon despite being a bit of a flop. Possibly they’ll add some more smoke machines and blood soaked rags... Hopefully theyll announce the lineup shortly!

Definitely a downgrade to replace a good indoor maze with another traipse through the mud. I hope they make some changes to sanctum as doing that in semi daylight last year was terrible (though the actors did try lol). I liked the cottage section in platform 15 the most but the maze was a bit meh because of the boring never ending tunnel at the end lol.

Never did Blair witch but if the other outdoor mazes are anything to go by I’m not holding out much hope ? I thought it once held a scare factor of 2 or 3 out of 5 too, basically meaning there will be about one actor saying boo during a wander round a muddy dark alleyway lol

Saw this scare event near Bluewater in Kent. Never heard of it before, has anyone been or know anything about it? Seems to have several mazes and won some awards a few years back. I guess it’s a smaller version of tulleys. Cheers! https://www.spookycastle.co.uk/

I watched a vid from themeparkworldwide on YouTube filmed last year and they bought fast passes, basically went on through the exit on most things. Will definitely research it given the changes to their ticketing but as you say it looks well worth getting lol.

Haha well it’s official Love Island Lates have been accounted every Thursday Friday and Saturday during the summer. You can meet some of the cast and play love island games (???) at these events. They are desperate to be ‘down with the kids’ I suppose lol

Thorpe just posted a video on their Facebook about something happening on the 26th July mentioning ‘the island’, ‘hot summer’ and a picture of a heart and a palm tree (love + island). Have a feeling it will be love island related. Definitely very walking dead themed eh

I’ve just read through this thread, I’m guessing nobody on here has been before? I plan to go during my trip to Japan in November as we are staying close by. Interestingly they’ve decided to make the park free entry (from June onwards) and then pay for individual rides instead. Suits me! However likely to make the park itself busier. And they also have one of the longest (the longest?) scare mazes in existence, I think it’s nearly 1km! Wonder what the guest actor ratio is like.... I have heard about the horrendously slow operations from a few people, so will certainly buy fastpass for everything. Will report back my thoughts on the rides

Taken me a while to post but here are my thoughts on this year's offerings: Went 1st October. Seriously the best time to go I'd say, so quiet lots of rides were walk on (eg Saw) or very short queues! Managed front row swarm 3 times, and stealth 3 times! However it'd have been nice to do it as a Halloween thing but still never mind. TWD living nightmare- my favourite maze of the day, excellent theming, less crowding/bunching up of groups, good actors. I wouldn't say it was that scary but definitely well put together. More jump scares would improve it 4/5 TWD sanctum- oh dear. I didn't queue for this at all so wasn't bothered, but too much empty space and unfortunately wasn't quite dark when we did it which exposed the empty spaces even more. Having said that the actors did a great job and we had plenty of interaction so it was fun, just wasn't that scary. More smoke machines and walls/sheets and could have potential. 2/5 platform 15- much improved from last year, however the final scene in the tent is still ridiculously long and boring, needs reworking. The house was good, I think there is still too much empty space and more should be done at the sleeper express (we just walked past it was uneventful) 2.5/5 The big top- so much to love and unfortunately to hate lol. More thorpe's fault for putting groups of 20 or so people in at a time, it felt like a slow moving queue for the whole thing, with lots of stopping and major bunching up, so they need to sort this out!! The queue was short I don't know why they didn't do groups of 10, say, instead. So very frustrating, didn't really enjoy it as a result, if you hang back you meet with the group behind you lol so no win situation. Theming and music still get top marks (love the song) and if I'd have been in a small group I would have loved it. 3/5 Saw- same as usual, good fun but definitely needs an update as it's getting old haha. 3/5

Put my detailed review in the spoiler thread. One thing I'll say here is it is annoying they still haven't sorted out the bunching up that happens in the big top! One long slow moving queue on my go. Lol.

Out of interest to those that have been already how would you say the two new mazes compare to what you see in this blog video someone posted in the other thread? is this similar to your run through? Were the actors similar in scare tactics/makeup? To me both mazes look terrifying in this vid as I am petrified of zombies but would be interesting to know why they weren't as intense as expected! I suppose I'll find out for myself Sunday. At least I know what to prioritise now! And very glad to hear that they've reworked platform 15. Not sure what to queue for first, big top or Living Nightmare....

I've never done it either mainly due to cost if it ends up being rubbish- though I understand why they charge for it as it does have a low throughput.

Is it a zombie themed kebab though? ?

I do hope platform has had a significant revamp as it was a terrible maze for me last year, no suspense and not scary at all. In my opinion more work needs to be put into outdoor attractions in general compared to indoor to make sure theming comes across- a few random props here and there, with nothing big enough for actors to hide behind so you can see them a mile away just doesn't work for me. More fake walls/props and less open spaces would mean more jump scares, and make the maze more like a, well, maze, not a wide unthemed walkway followed by a never ending tunnel made of flimsy blankets. On a more positive note I'm going on the 1st, hoping queues will be good so should get to go on most/all of the mazes! If anyone is going on press night I'll await your thoughts to determine order of priority.
