  1. Same. It does show that thorpes engineers do care about the place, as much stick as they do get on these forums.

Let's hope it pays dividends. Probably doesn't though.

  2. Are you sure, As the post from Thorpe Park in the questions topic suggests otherwise.

    http://forum.maniahub.com/topic/9800-lost-city-soundtrack/#entry141916

I wouldn't mind betting we start to see this played in even more places around the park seeing as it seems they are turning it into more of a radio station with the announcements/voiceovers. Shame if that is the case as Thorpe have always been one of the best in the UK when it came to themed Park music.

Listening to answers of a PR person (who will only ever put thorpe in a good light) isn't the best example. Pretty obvious from the complete lack of responding to the actual question.

Was hoping that this would be sorted, as they've spent a lot of money on a new Project Link.. might not be totally finished yet!

  3. The zone isn't meant to be playing chart music on Vortex/Lost City area.. it's just still broken it seems. As far as I'm aware, the operators have to start announcements to play music.. so I presume Vortex op was just ignoring the PA system unless it was messed.

  4. Thorpe makes millions in profit every year. Millions.

I don't buy this whole not-caring-about-experience-merlin-thing otherwise we wouldn't get **** like Swarm, Smiler.. and wouldn't get inferno budgets would we? ;)

  5. Shame really. Can't imagine many people coming.. for an Adventure Park. The entrance fees have risen too sharply for what they actually have on offer also.

Plus Angry Birds just feels like it's on it's way out.. not many people play it anymore, so that area will feel ridiculously outdated soon enough, surely way before the 1m investment is returned.

  6. BAs for CCR, it depends if it has a valid ADIPS certificate if it can be re-opened for not. They are tax-disc size and are found on most ride opperators boxes but every ride requires on to open. They are re-issued every 12 month, which leads me to believe CCR if it hasn't cycled since it closed will NOT have one and as such will not be allowed to open until such time as its re-tested.

    Ash

Not entirely correct there - ADIPS is a voluntary body which comes to ensure you're doing correct periodical maintenance and you're following procedures. They then provide a lovely sticker to put on to prove that you're doing it correctly.

It costs a bomb, no guests knows what it stands for, you don't need it. Towers stopped being with ADIPS last year, lego stopped in 2009.

  7. The parks will naturally make a far higher amount from running the units themselves than having franchises.. and merlin themselves are obviously very confident in running the places themselves again (otherwise they would not have been removed from towers - naturally the busiest outlets are there).

Merlin will get rid of eventually. It'll be a natural thing for them to do.

  8. Does it need one though? It's not like they're actively removing the thrill rides.. they're still there, all working (apart from black revolver but that was nothing special).

I personally think their balance is perfect now. Just invest in more decent family attractions to remove the older ones, and refresh the thrill selection by painting them up and making them look new.

  9. So Imperial Leather, Tussauds and Chessington are all morons.

Think that's what everyone was getting at. It wasn't done for the satisfaction for the guests, none of it was. It was done to provide a sponsor to a park to get money for DIC to be happy with.

    Literally it.

Thank god those times are seemingly behind us now.
