    Doctor Who

God Torchwood, seriously, what kind of crap are they pulling with this series now. Miracle Day feels like never ending death, going on and on and on and on. Characters who stood out at the beginning get categoried 1 in more recent episodes after 30 seconds of screentime, the most interesting characters get sidelined for some more boring backstory which just cheapens the story. It's such a shame when you think of the potential of the concept. People don't die. But instead of looking at how this effects the story we are just told that banks are falling. The last episode, we get REPUBLIC OF IRELAND AND GREECE have collapsed. That may have worked in the Sontaran Strategm or Journeys End but not in a serious, gritty drama like what Torchwood is aiming to be. Don't just tell us, SHOW US how this is affecting people. The story is set in America and Wales, have those countries economy collapsing. Then we may care about the situation because useless backstory is irrelevant. After Children of Earth two years ago, it felt like Torchwood had gone from softcore porn to a genuinely fantastic series. Despite being a sideline from Doctor Who, COE had surpassed anything Doctor Who could do. Now, despite Doctor Who not being my particular flavour of Who goodness, I'll still watch it on broadcast or as close to broadcast as possible. Miracle Day, no, I leave it to the last minute or whenever I can fit it in because its such a never-ending drag of pompous rubbish. And the reason I still watch it... I wish I knew.
  2. *cringes*Hate those damn tents.
  3. When I went to Florida and posted my trip report Sheeps, you said something about the way I posted, that I was overwhelmed and it was coming across in my posts. When I read your first trip report thats the same impression I'm getting from how you are describing some of the attractions. despite this not being your first trip.I agree with so many of your sentiments such as how wonderful Philarmagic, Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion are and how everything about the Magic Kingdom is close to perfection, from the rides to the running to how many toilets are dotted around in each area. Can't wait to read the rest of your reports. I've already begun re-evaulating how I felt about my trip (Can't wait to read your Harry Potter and the Forbidden Shed report) and I feel that we have similar views on how parks are and how they are run. Cannot wait for your next part dude.
  4. Except no one has said that at all. The seating position is quite odd in that you are forced downwards at your waist. I've had leg cramp in my calf muscle from going through the in-lines on Colossus before so can understand where people are coming from. Oddly I sometimes get the same thing on Rita.I have nowhere near the contempt for Colossus as some people do, for what it did for Thorpe and how groundbreaking it was in 2002 it has my respect. It's my favourite Intamin rollercoaster. (Which to be fair is like asking me what my favourite life threatening disease is. )
  5. Thank god for laziness then ey. They indirectly created the best entrance to a theme park in the country that way.
  6. God, even if it was built now you wouldn't be riding the damn thing for another 5 months anyway.
  7. The amazing thing about that Sidders, is that caller has been on WWTP since 2000. So either Thorpe are tying in something excellently or it's just a big coincidence. Either way it's something that most enthusiasts haven't cottoned on to, good work SIdders friend.
  8. See, I don't have so much of a problem with Charlie.. although in saying that the ride has got worse recently. For instance the Blueberry woman (can't remember her name) has no head whereas previously she did. Very odd to say the least..
  9. See those queue times are the exception, not the rule. It is rare for Fury, Vampire and Bubbleworks to have those queue times for a full 8 hours in the day. Whilst I agree that ride investment is required, it's not due to queue times being excessively long around the park.. it's just not the case.
  10. I love the Zoo, very under-rated. I'm glad they are working on the Monkey and Bird area, I always feel that the cages are to small for the animals they keep. It always amazes me how big the Zoo is actually. If you factor in the Zoo and the Park and all the shows going on around the park, Chessington can easily become a two day park.. just depends on whether you like animals or not. I would want to see the Trail of the Kings area become larger though, there's no way the enclosures are sizeable enough for the animals they hold. And I'd want to see animals like giraffes added to Wanyama. As the best animal in the world it deserves a place at Chessington. Make it so!
  11. I think its the largest scale marketing campaign in this country since Oblivion. And that is really saying something. Thorpe haven't missed a beat with the way Swarm has been promoted thus far. Fake turrets and sign positioning excluded, Thorpe cannot be faulted for what they are doing. It's a far cry from the simple banners that Inferno and Stealth got.
  12. Yeah, sorry about doing that on a discussion forum TPGG. Maybe closed sentences and rhetorical questions are the way forwards.
  13. Ok guys. Imagine you are a member of the public. You walk into a theme park, Colossus, Inferno, Saw and Stealth reaching into the skies like claws in the sand. And then, a tank and a sign declaring their next big ride for 2012 greets you immediately as you enter the park. Thats more then publicity, thats a statement saying, yes we have these big rides but whats coming will blow everything else away.If you are just a normal, one day at a theme park in a year kinda guest you see this and you'd be astounded. You wouldn't be thinking "but the position of the sign detracts from the tank itself". Because apart from the minority on here, who cares. They have a BIG TANK, they have ACTORS STOPPING LES GETTING INTO THE SWARM SITE, they have a GREAT BIG SIGN FOR SWARM. This is on a scale that thorpe has never achieved in the past.I'm all for adjectivity, but criticism for criticism's sake is ludicrous.
  14. What if they move away? Or live far away? Or move country? Or you move school/ college/country and will never see them again. Don't be so insular.
  15. Does what it says on the tin. To get the ball rolling..Haha, it's a shed.
  16. B&M. You guys, seriously. For years you've been building hyper after hyper coaster and suddenly, you reach the 2010's and you throw wilder and wilder and mroe and more rides at us. From Starry eyed Ripper to Parc Asterix's new one its crazy to think of the B&M dominance for next year.So many projects. Can't wait
  17. People who are unable or unwilling to speak their mind when they have a problem. Stop using social networking to get your mesages across and get some confidence to say it to a person. Hiding behind words on the internet is the cowardly way out isn't it.....
  18. if it wasn't for the City of London Taxi ride I wouldn't give Maddame Tussauds the time of day. It's quiet dead on opening but thats about.
