I always find her songs tend to grow on you. I hated Pokerface, Bad Romance and Telephone when I first heard them..
  2. So with the news that a B&M is to open at Thorpe for 2012, lets discuss a ride that will be celebrating it's tenth birthday next year. Air, B&M's first flying rollercoaster opened in 2002 and is quite unlike any other ride in Europe. Swooping up and over Nemesis and with an emphasis on the thrill of flight does Air inspire you or do you hate it and have been put off flying ever since. For reference, French ride enthusiasts love it. But do you?!
  3. What a beautiful rollercoaster. There's some really note worthy rides opening this year actually, very impressed. As for your Merlin comment Benin, I get the feeling they already know how stupid the UK's GP are, look at fastrack or the countless haunted attractions they seem to have...
  4. /\ Agreed. It's not the OSR's on Saw that gives you the headache, its the ride itself.

Channel 4 in under age drinking shocker!
  6. My most anticipated ride of the year now... and thats saying a lot. Agreed with Benin, it looks far more floaty then I thought it would. More of an Air then a Nemesis.
  7. B&M sleekness. I'm loving the colour of the train as well.

More importantly, what were you drinking?
  9. This could be the most painful ride in existance but it looks so gorgeous I could forgive it.
  10. Yes. no one ever noticed my fantastic fence painting at Toadies a couple of years back
  11. First time you made the "we deserve special treatment" comment it was kinda funny, now it just seems smug. And the reasons you listed are exactly the reasons the parks added the ride access pass in the first place. The old system was ridiculous with disabled riders waltzing onto every single ride, getting ride counts into the 40's whilst the guests in the queue line were lucky to get on 5 rides in the whole day because the disabled guests and their carers didn't know when to stop...I do agree however that Zodiac should be taken off the list. Seems an odd choice ride to put on there anyway. What rides are on the card out of interest..

Pfft, whatever Jack, you are the past and you know it. As the winner of the best admin/mod of 2010 I wish him the best of luck and hope he enjoys the power of the banhammer.

As the mods/admins don't seem to be able to organize this, shall we have a chat session on Monday evenings at say 7?
  14. I think thats one of your best posts Outfit. Chessington is stupidly under-rated and such a fantastic place to visit.
  15. 14 hours for staff..So assuming the staff can get to work on time and that the rides are all running and ready to go and that the enginners don't mind starting at 2 in the morning, thats a fantabulous idea. I'm sure Merlin wouldn't mind throwing money straight in the bin.
  16. Judging by target audience them, only idiots and traveller teenagers should go to Thorpe.
  17. Marc really isn't the right person to call on anything these days.
  18. Who said your wrong exactly? You can have that opinion but the idea of going somewhere and just riding rides all day is actually quite horrific... Do you not attempt to take in the atmosphere of a place, enjoy the themes, take a wonder.I don't know if you've been to Alton but the gardens there are spectactular and the truth is, without those wonderful gardens Alton Towers might not even exist. So yes you may like to stomp from ride to ride (which is tedious) but most people like to take a break in their day and actually explore their surroundings..
  19. See this is the thing. I doubt Wild Asia's budget for the rest of its theming was 'big' as you put it. What they did is use the money well and emphasised certain parts such as the trollies, and the shop facades. Kobra itself isn't exactly themed amazingly but what Wild Asia has is a consistent style. I think the same of Mutiny Bay, in particular Battle Galleons which if you actually go through the queue line is fantastically themed, easily Merlin's best UK effort. What I'm concerned with on Krake is that all the imagary and desciption of the ride is hugely themed detail. The car goes into the mouth of the Kraken, then emerging through a pirate ship as it goes into the immelman. With Krake, if there's any moments like Saw or Th13teen where it drifts for a while through trees or wanders aimlessly towards the end then for me, the ride loses its appeal. As Heide have sold this as a big story event, if it fails to deliver in any area, I'll personally be dissapointed as when they announced it last year, the imagary they conjured up was fantastic.
