You want to help Rattlesnake (which is a very low throughput ride), by adding fastrack making the queue double what it already is. Rattlesnake isn't exactly as popular as Vampire and Fury and rarely ever gets 30 minute queues these days.
-
The only wrong thing there is that Samurai has a longer queue then Saw and Stealth.....

This is a Dragons Fury queue line announcement, at this time we are experiencing a technical problem with Dragons Fury and have ceased operation. Ride team leaders are on their way to the ride and we will hopefully be back in operation soon. If you do not wish to wait, please make your way back through the queue line. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to your day.. thank you.

It can still injure people... It may be newer, but remember, Xceleator has been running for 4 more seasons then Stealth. Just wrong, many Intamin accelerators have some kind of loop or inversion. Kaneon, Storm Runner, the one linked. Yex, exactly, Inversions don't make rides better.

It's never going to be as smooth as a B&M. It's designed totally differently and it is a Vekoma/Arrow hybrid... t

Voting people down won't matter, it's not as if anything will come off it. In fact, I hope everyone votes me down so I can become the most unpopular poster on TPM!

That's awesome. Beanoland, is an area that after every year just seemed to lose it's way. When it opened there was great promise in what it could achieve what with the shows and the plan of a rollercoaster near where the Madhouse currently is, it seemed Beanoland was the future you could say. Towards the end of its life, with the shows banned because of Health and Safety and the characters barely appearing, it was a waste of some potential. Hopefully the new area will hit the goals that beanoland never quite got to.

If you're playing with words, Saw technically has two cars on the.. erm... cars..

Nemesis isn't open for ERT, it's just Alton tend to just open rides when they are ready rather then wait for official opening time.As for its roar and it getting old, all B&M inverters make that noise, and to give Nemmy a bit off love.. it is 15 years old now, in coaster terms it's becoming ancient.

Wouldn't work as it doesn't take into account fastrack, exit riders or disabled riders.Phill.. I'm drinking to, I'm not posting rubbish so can it please.

That suggests otherwise..

But.. the old system was just estimates as well. All queue boards say "the queue time is approximately __ minutes. It was never an exact system. This new system only makes things more accurate because its way to vague. You could have 1 as 0-60 minutes and it would mean just as little as what they are trialling at the moment.
-
Right so say if we say 3.. then who is to say what queue time that is? an hour, 3 hours, 2 years? That's an immeasurable length of queue time and to be honest with you, is to vague. It needs some work and could work but I don't think there was anything wrong with the old system. Ok, it may have got complaints but only if the staff don't update it regularly.

Well yeah.. although in a same sex relationship, the funny looks you get from the public makes me laugh really. I actually had some homophobic abuse the other week, I was on a train going to London from Dartford and I was just holding hands with the boyfriend when this group of.. I don't like the word Chav so we shall call them, cavemen, walk past, throw newspaper at us and then said "we don't want to be on a part of the train with the gays." They then walked off...It was probably the most surreal moment of my life.

I guess it depends on what you take. On my first attempt I was taking Geography, Psychology, Photography and Art and failed miserably, dropping out of Psychology and getting three U's.On my second attempt I chose Film Studies, Media Studies and English Language and Literature and got two B's and a C and found I enjoyed it much more.Anyway.. as a rant, I'm getting so pissed off with going on facebook whilst pissed. I sent a really random message last night. Luckily it arrived at the wrong person :|

The DoubleThorpe Park - 8th September and Alton Towers - 9th SeptemberClosed Rides (or ones I never saw open)Chief Rangers CarouselColossusMr Monkeys Banana RideRipsawRide CountAir X2Nemesis X2Nemesis Inferno X2Runaway Mine Train X4Flying Fish X1Saw: The Ride X1Oblivion X1Duel X2Blade X1Stealth X1Congo River Rapids X2Log Flume Unplugged X2Heave-Ho X2Spinball Whizzer X1The Bear Hunt X1Rita: Queen of Speed X1Charlie and the Chocolate Factory X1Twirling Toadstool X1Loggers Leap X1Maurauders Mayhem X1Beastie X1Squirrel Nutty Ride X1Samurai X1Points of NoteThorpe Park's downtime was.. well bad. Colossus didn't open during my entire time there, Samurai opened at about 2, we saw Detonator also go down. Banana Ride and Carousel were down all day.Alton Towers downtime wasn't as bad, but at one point both Ripsaw (Which was down all day.. something to do with the motor) and Air (which had been evacuated) were both down making Forbidden Valley very quiet.Thorpe Park was a lot busier then Alton, however what was weird was the queues. Whilst Stealth had a 10 minute queue, Detonators queue was 20 minutes. Saw's was 30 minutes, whilst Rush's queue was 15. In comparison, whilst Nemesis's queue was only 5 minutes, Oblivion had a 30 minute. The rapids was walk on and yet we had to wait 15 minutes to get on the Flume. Bizarre..Both parks seemed geared towards the future. Thorpe is very Fright Nighty now with the Asylum sign already up whilst giant holes have appeared all over the old Corkscrew site. Favourite ride of the trips was definitely the Runaway Mine Train. Choo Choo lady!

Those roadworks on the M25 at J17 are an absolute bitch and have added queues to where there were no queues before. When I last drove to Alton Towers it took me 2 and a half hours to get from Junction 9 of the M25 to the M1... Usually it takes half an hour.. so yeah watch out for the roadworks.Shame on you Themeparkbloke, not taking a driving break
-
They are put on the back because if the ride was to break down at any time with the trains on the lift sections, they are the first section to be evacuated as they may not understand a break down or are likely to have the most distress and so would be the first people taken off the ride. It has nothing to do with the ride being less/more intense on the back rows. The same procedure happens on Nemesis Inferno, Nemesis and Air.
-
The only reason (if any at all) it was extended was because the new land is not 100% confirmed yet. It needs approval to be granted, so there is no point in the park closing Beanoland and starting demolition if it is not actually allowed to proceed with its plans.
-
Small question.. why? The power cuts would have no bearing on the parks future.
-
Vampire has a longer queueline then Dragons Fury so holds more people. Vampire's throughput can be up to 1000, whilst Fury's maximum is 700. Hence why Vampire can have a much longer queue, especially if it is only on 2 trains.

The Blue Barnacle (Previously Black Buccaneer)
Mark9 replied to themeparkmad's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
I personally think that along with Billy's Whizzer, Black Buccaneer is Chessington's best ride. I find it quite odd that at Buccaneer the staff are encouraged to interact with the guests whereas on Blade at Alton Towers, the operators just look so bored and depressed. But yeah, love the Buccaneer, that low height restriction really disguises how intense the ride actually is.
