  1. No it can't. I know the others have explained but well...Yeah I operate it. Not since 2005 have we run even 8 cars because simply put, the system doesn't like it. Rarely will you ever even see all 9 cars at the ride as often one is in the workshop and another is used as spare in case one of the other cars needs to be taken off.As for extending the station, that would add absolutely nothing as the ride track is still the same length. The cars will still be going around at the same pace, you just have more stacked up in the station.
  2. It would be minimal to be honest Will. Fury is one of the longer spinners out there (and it can potentially run 8 cars), but to get the best out of that the staff have to work very very fast. With the.. difficulties of guests, its impossible to run efficiently.
  3. Being gay is the latest trend? I don't think so, I reckon its because as culture becomes more accepting and less judgmental, people feel more confident and more able to express their true thoughts.
  4. Nah, the very nature of spinning rollercoasters means they always have ridiculous queue lengths. Only good for funfairs IMO.
  5. What, only one coaster in the next two years? What a joke ey Thorpe fans!

Family rides are the best. Bar none
  7. I'd argue that rides are only a small part of what makes guests go to Chessington anyway. Whereas it works for thrill-seeker parks like Thorpe (where the only thing to do is rides), CWoA had a bigger jump in guests from the Sea Life centre then in comparison to 2004 when they added Dragons Fury.
  8. There's usually an open-day trip as well. This one is just for everyone to see each other at a theme park after a 3 month break.

    This may upset Outfit..
  10. Falls was open but due to.. err something that happened it closed
  11. It's normally Rameses that doesn't open on time, last year it was though. That was weird. 08 season - Bubbleworks07 season - Dragon Falls, Rameses (I believe) and Seastorm06 season - RamesesI think anyway
  12. That's crazy. It really reinforces just how lucky we are with the Merlin parks in this country. Despite the size of fan-sites in comparison to the general public, Thorpe Park and Alton Towers (to a smaller extent, Chessington) have always appealed to the enthusiasts, the guys that come back year after year. Makes me feel much more cynical about visiting Blackpool as well.
  13. No way dude. Last year was Chessington's best year since 2000. During the Easter holidays Chessington was thrashing Thorpes attendance figures everyday and for the rest of the season, the park was doing extremely well. Just as an example, the last 2 and a half weeks of August saw a regular attendance of 11,000 people everyday (Often much higher then that). Considering I was on my Fourth season last year and it was far busier then every other year, I would argue against Chessington being a victim of the credit crunch. Whilst on the ride side, Chessington really cannot compete with the other parks, as an all round entertainment venue it does very well.
  14. Considering a lot of posters thought the November video was a waste of time, I can't see why people are so intent on more.
  15. I thought this whole Samurai thing had died. Two months till official opening and it hasn't gone anywhere. How can people still think a retheme is happening.
  16. I believe (although its been four years since I last went) that the current system is if you do not buy a wristband you have to pay 5 pounds just to go in. After that you pay per ride. It's the same as going on Brighton pier, being charged five pound for the privilege then paying extra for each ride you go on.

Wasn't her last one out last march? Did it flop flop flop
  18. I agree with the earlier point you made Dan, I haven't been to Blackpool for 4 years now and I only enjoyed Grand National and Wild Mouse. It shares something with Drayton that no matter what they add, it never feels quite as interesting as what they could be adding. The owners don't just care about ice shows as I believe one of the main shows it has is closed for the season as well.
  19. I'm a bit uncertain. According to a few sources in the park 9 of the parks attractions will be SBNO this year, three of them rollercoasters.1 - Noah's ark2 - Rollercoaster3 - Space Invader 24 - Gold Mine5 - Trauma Towers6 - Impossible7 - Caterpillar ride8 - Helicopters9 - Fairy WhipWhether the park survives is entirely down to the current management team who seem insistent on running the park down piece by piece. Expensive entry prices (you can't just enter now, you have to pay to just be in there) means a lot of potential customers are immediately put off. Testing times for sure.

No, I wasn't saying other forums are taking the mick, I was saying some members are taking the mick.

  22. Rameses did have quite long queues this year. Certainly a lot of the time it would have up to 30 minute queues. Part of the reason its queue is shorter then Rattlesnake majority of the time is because of throughput, no inversions on rattlesnake and spectatorship. People don't know what to expect from Rattle as most of it is hidden away and so are more likely to try it. Its the same reason dark rides such as No Way Out and Black Hole always had/have stupidly long queues.
