I believe the Secret Weapon idea is now dead.. however I'm still holding out for that B&M floorless, Alton stylee
  2. The infilling may create a huge theme park but it doesn't stop the fact you can see everything from most places in the park. Alton works because you can't just spin on the spot and see everything it has to offer right away. I'd love to have never been to the park and be discovering rides in every corner that I never knew about. What I think is a huge bonus and credit to the park is the fact that if you start in Forbidden Valley with Air, Nemesis and Ripsaw you may not see them for the rest of the day because of the amount of attractions in place and the size. It works well for it as I tire of being able to see everything on offer from the word go.My route round Alton is as follows *coughs*Air -> Nemesis -> Duel -> Runaway Mine Train -> Congo River Rapids -> Log Flume Unplugged -> Spinball Whizzer -> Oblivion -> Hex -> Rita: Queen of Speed -> CorkscrewWinning formula for getting the most out of the day

Awww the good old days. 3 rides really got me into theme parks; Vampire, Rameses Revenge and Samurai at Chessington. Nothing can beat the memories of walking into the South entrance and seeing a 6 armed gondola swinging majestically over the treetops. Samurai's reputation was one no other UK flat ride can beat. The ride had queues regularly over 2 hours, filling the whole of Mystic East and queues spreading way outside of the area.Oh and the ride was simply fantastic. I remember my last ride at Halloween well with the mister on and manually swinging round. Simply sublime and something it can never replicate at Thorpe is the out of control feeling.Samurai at Chessington: Can you handle it. Ooh I've got goosebumps

Oh Lord. I enjoyed it the other day however thats because it was a staff ride and we were allowed to splash each other. Riding whilst open to the public means the ride is bloody awful and a waste of time. Everytime I've ridden with someone whos never been on it they come off with a look of sheer boredom.

There both excellently themed however I think that the fact Haunted House did not have a story from the start means the frantic pace and sudden turns lends itself better to the shooting aspect. Tomb Blaster suffers from the stops which whilst necessary for throughput sakes means that the pace of the ride is very erratic. The stops at the Treasure part and the snake pit break up the action and are far to long.

Yesterday during a block shutdown the "ahhh you survived" played over and over again and I was in hysterics... Anyway I love Fury and believe it to be the UK's second best steel rollercoaster. It has a few drawbacks such as the small size of the car meaning slightly poor legroom but I think the ride experience more then makes up for it. Very good ride in the face of simple layouts such as Stealth, Colossus, Rita and Air.

Its terrible all this flooding. I live on a hill so not quite effected but I feel for people that have lost everything in this strange weather.

Nemesis without a doubt.Blue or Red?
  13. Huh? Actually I have no idea why it was down on my trip on Friday.. a day where it was sunny all day, no rain whatsoever.
  14. How many rides were closed all day Marc Also I'm not really allowed to discuss rattlesnake.. I'll just say some staff need a slap in the face. Also you know exactly why Skyway doesn't work in the rain unless you want to be on one that collides with another.

The filming wouldn't cost that much - for instance I have to film a music video for Media this year on quite high quality cameras that cost around ?5000 - presumably Thorpe already own these. Also staff would have probably have been in anyway as most Team Leaders work at the parks through closed season anyway.
  18. I don't put my arms very much anymore, I don't need to proove anything... On Stealth my arms are usually down although to be fair I'm normally asleep half way down the launch. The only rides I put my arms up are B&M's now.. the raw adrenaline feeling is unmatched by any other rides... oh and Vortex

I deleted him for yet again asking why I'm a member on here yet I hate Thorpe Park. That plus he asks so many questions, orders people around on here and is just generally rude.
  20. Skyway does work in the rain but because of the hills the ride goes around on its circuit as it rains these becomes slippery and they can't make it to the top. Unless Inferno has that sort of issue its a poor line to go on. Fury wasn't closed for a full 3 months either..

Or we could see it that they cannot be bothered to change it...
  22. 1 ride tbh. Besides Stealth's downtime is just as bad, its a major rollercoaster that had had downtime for 2 weeks at a time every now and then throughout the season. Besides if you want to get further into it isn't this a park that had Tidal Wave down for 3 months in the 2005 season, a ride getting people stuck upside down several times a year resulting in months of downtime, a ride that is "officially" f**ked and barely open throughout the entire season as well as numerous rides just closed.
  23. Heres mineChessington 0Alton 4-5Thorpe 1 ride closed all day, 6 breakdownsOh looky... all 3 parks who are not close to manufacturers but it wouldn't be Marc if Thorpe didn't get the most defence.
