    Slammer

Its being put back together now, hoepefully be back up soon!
  2. This isnt playing the "wrong" music, when they had problems with the system they can play the old dome track park wide (So a mix of ambiance and ride themes) instead of having nothing playing which is why you heard pirates music at stealth! As Ricky said Samurai playing the lost city theme is normal, slammer does when the track ends to which is also normal. Stealth was running today, had a few problems which I'm sure they will get to the bottom of soon!
  3. Its obviously alot quieter now than it has been, id say expect 20/30 min qs at peak on coasters, 5 / 10 mins for flats maybe depending on time of day.
  4. Just to point out I meant the website its self (www.thorpeparkmania.co.uk) but thanks for the comments, appreciated!
  5. Hey guysBeen busy recently looking over the current TPM, tidying things up. making sure alls up to date and added few new bits here and there. Now we are just after your opinions on what you think lacks on the website, and what you would like to see which would improve it and future versions of the site.ThanksMarc
  6. Yep that's a clever bit of kit! Although unfortunately this can sometimes be the cause of problems in the rain.
  7. Apparently after the success of this years, celebrity big brother will return on Channel 4 in January.
  8. Big Brother will get back to you =]

    Rush

Was on 9 yesterday, much better! =] I guess they use the same music resource websites that the park do!
  10. To correct a few mistakes and make sure all the infos right, up to date and in the right topic. Not pre book on this date no, but a standard annual pass is not valid for Fright Nights so you will need a £5 annual pass ticket to get in. Unless of course you have a premium pass
  11. This is more to do with the temperature, I think as the ride warms up, the faster the lift will go till eventually its at full speed.

    Television

I will be! I'm gutted its coming to an end, I feel though its the right time though. There are roumors Channel 5 will bring it back next year, personally I hope this isnt true as I feel they would spoil it abit.
  13. We all know this though, Matt was just expressing that in his opinion they still have a reputation to shake off.I for one think the parks done fantastically well this year, saying that whilst last year's start was dreadfull, things did improve alot thoughout the year so its not a sudden change.
  14. Basically its around the 15 people mark where the cross (All the pods) will have more weight than the counter-weight at the top, so if power was lost gravity would take over and the ride would stop in a right up position where it could lower, less than 15 it would stop in the windmill position. Very different h&s rules at different places.
  15. From visits to Alton towers this year the parks reliability is very easily equal to, if not better IMO.

    Slammer

I think the tarps there to keep staff under it dry more than anything!
  17. Slammer has to be balanced within 2 or 3 people I think it is, so its entirely possible to be the one one on it. Correct, Samruai will never run with people on it if there are less than 15.
  18. You are aware posting company sensitive information on here is against your contract yeah?

  20. Id be surprised, even on quieter days it dont take much to build up q's, and with not all colleges back id expect people to be making last minute trips so id expect them all to be on 2. Whys it likley, all ran on 2 trains fine all day today? And Rush will usually run on 2 swings, even when the parks dead from past experience.
  21. Both rides were on 2 trains by 10:30 / 11:00 max... If the ride is ready to run on one train does it make sense to open it on one train, or open it late on two? From a guest POV id say it looks alot better to have the ride openWent today, all musics back to normal but sadly the links having a few problems, it was stuttering park wide so I'm sure its somthing what will be fixed soon. All rides ran well, come to think of it I didnt actually see one shutdown all day.. Would like to shout out to Colossus staff , its not a easy ride to run at the best of times but was run very well today, a almost full q, with fastrack we were on front row within around a hour so fantastic work from them. All staff were generally pretty good, also rush staff, thanks for the re-ride!Not much going on around park, Not overly busy pretty much as expected, Inferno was strangely busy at 6:00 still with half hour q, dont see that much! Ride count:Fish:1Detonator 1X: 1Colossus (Front) 1CCR: 1Samurai 1Stealth 1Rush 3
  22. Well it goes off enough that you do still experience it, but dont have to stand under it for multiple shots now..To be totally honest saying its ridiculous without knowing proper reasons is ridiculous in its self, could be a number of reasons and they do know how to run rides!
  23. Agree with that, but is that because we know better, maybe to the vast majority of the GP it works well for them who knows
  24. Indeed, Rush can have its number of powered swings set by engineers, Quantum used to have before the ends were removed (Setting 4 used to be so amazing =D!) but now only runs setting 2 and of course Slammer can be put on 2 rotations each way but unless the parks super busy dont think things like that are changed too often. A question put to them at behind the loops a couple of years ago was regarding this, they dont really consider the park a "Theme" park. Saying that ive been to towers and they have normal music on rides quite alot it seems too.
  25. I see my bad, I think the park wide systems had a few problems, parts of the park are with nothing atall so I suspect it will be changed back soon! Samurai was closed on Josh's trip, all the other flats at thorpe do not have "settings" in which the operator can change so they are just the same each and every time... Its a tough one tbh! It does make a nice change imo, it would be interesting to know if the GP really do like it more or if there not really to fussed.
