  1. Yes it is almost 3am but this just needed to be said.

Having got the blu-ray today, I just finished watching The Lion King for the first time in... way too long. And wow. Seriously. Just wow. It felt like I was watching it again for the very first time... and wow. I can't even comprehend it's genius. The story, the characters, the emotion, the music, the landscapes, the humour... it's just pure cinematic joy and perfection from start to end. Nothing comes close to it. Nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing NOTHING.

Anyway, Disney-gasm part two tomorrow hopefully!

  2. I prefer the boardwalk idea as it seems to have a theme within itself, and would fit... I just can't see the other idea working.

Why not have both? Or am I missing something where it implies one can't happen without the other? The shark thing was just a piece of entrance art wasn't it?

Oh well, both are awesome concepts. Gotta love the shark...

  3. This is true, although my 'hasty' remark, specifically, was directed at this Angry Birds development only. With regard to Storm Surge and X that indicate that the park are 'refocusing on the family market', I would argue that their generally lazy and noncommittal nature is far more representative of how little Thorpe Park are interested in devoting to this secondary demographic. Indeed, the idea that they are attempting to gradually 're-brand' in this half-hearted way actually contradicts the other gloomy and uncaring brand that they were cultivating at the same time (using apocalyptic, sadistic imagery and showing a disregard for adventure or enthral). My concern is that they don't know what they're aiming for, with park advertising, online promotional material and new developments on-park all communicating a different message. Are they 'The Nation's Thrill Capital' exclusively, or are they hoping to, as you say, create something more diverse? It's fundamentally confused as far as I see it, and each new decision seems to suggest a different intention, but that's just my own opinion (and an unfortunately cynical one).

I'm confused, haven't you just kind of answered your own question there? That it isn't just a case of either/or and that they consider both markets to be important?

  4. It is a bit silly that a ride which was closed for 2/3 of the season is the best ride of the season though imo. Not as silly as Saw coming 23rd or whatever in the 2012 game though... ;)

*1/2 the season (I know the point's exactly same but it was nagging me), but hey ho the people have spoken ;) Nah Saw's was definitely deserved...

  6. Que?

It's not the worst one for roughness, but it's still pretty bad... The sooner the rumoured new trains come the better...

It bloody well is! Near the back is vile, the front is still worse than all the others you've listed.

Fair enough if you feel that way, just makes it very odd that I've been on it around 20 times in the last 7 months across separate visits and I haven't had a single ride on it that I would have described as rough...
