  1. Air has to be the most boring ride in the park, it's unique, but the layout is so boring, that's why world firsts can be bad when you see what else is out there

As opposed to what - world's never created?

    Air (2)

    Hex (1)

    Nemesis (3)

    Oblivion (2)

    Air +

    Hex -

  2. I was referring only to rides opening on time really since that's what your post was referencing :P

But yes Europa is generally superior to most theme parks. Although surely with that logic, if you don't respect Alton that much there would be less of a reason to get on their backs about The Smiler being late, and for Europa's higher stature it would be considered a more significant issue?

  3. Look at Fish go! *insert joke about Flying Fish being the only ride able to run in a flood*

The lake level is rising, it's pretty much level with Staines Road at the moment. And in the video JoshC posted you can sort of see the lake rising above the grass banks next to the Vortex and Zodiac plaza. Nothing too bad yet though.

  4. Sods law....I drove to Chertsey today to take the dog for a walk along Monks Walk and because of the floods no access to Thorpe Village.

On a side note the floods are horrendous around the park...at one point it looked as if one of the lakes was spilling onto the dual carriageway.

The flood situation is being covered well online, always worth checking before you travel at a time like this but the best thing of all to do is just avoid the whole area if you can. You can be walking down one road which is fine, turn a corner and suddenly the rest of it is waist-deep in water. The lake is pretty much level with Staines Road at the moment and you can see rubbish floating on top being lifted up onto the side of the road, but the road itself wasn't flooded as of this afternoon. Still can't get any further than the Thorpe roundabout though.

  5. I have been trying to find a piece of music for ages. I have heard it I think every time I have been to Thorpe, in the dome on my first visit back in 2008 before they played chart music in there, and more recently the arcade.

It could be a loop - it has a repetitive melody of what sounds like high pitched, dreamy sounding whistling, and I don't know if you have talked about it before but I can't find anything. Can anyone tell me what this is if it is a Thorpe tune?

Is it at 3:17 in this?
