  1. Chessington is already sad with its lack of proper investment.
  2. In the history of TPM changes, I don't think there has ever been a change that people have liked. In the past people complained yet after a couple of weeks of using it you forget what the old one was like. It's the same with Facebook, how many times has that changed over the years? I'm sure at some point Twitter will change layouts. There is always an uproar but really people soon get used to it.However, saying that, there are a few things I'm not too keen on. I don't like how the forum has swapped personal pictures with avatars and how your picture shows up in the "last post" column on the forum. I also don't like how it doesn't feel like a theme park forum. I know these issues are being seen to though so hopefully it won't be like this forever.... (Phill where are you to make us a new skin damn you) .
  3. Hi everyone.Basically a very quick post to extend an invitation to a meet that members over various forums have each year. Every year we abuse the London Merlin attractions and then have a meal in the evening somewhere. You do not have to attend each attraction, but it's tradition that the group stays together and is usually the best meet of the year.It is being organised via Facebook. HERE.If you can't view that, then add me on Facebook, and I'll invite you. You're more than welcome to book a room at a Travelodge for the evening, a few of us already are. This is to be confirmed as to where- a couple of locations are going around at the moment such as Leatherhead and T5. All info is on the Facebook page anyway. Any questions please ask either on here or the facebook page, I shall answer anything I can when I return later!
  4. Well as we can see them building it, I would assume that the plane is a scenic element for thematic purposes only and not an actual jet.
  5. Test runs usually begin in December/ January for the most part. There is a lot to do before trains are able to perform a full circuit on the track. A big congratulations to everyone for managing to complete the track installation 2 weeks ahead of time.
  6. Dear Merlion:

Please get yo' sexy white girl ass to bed please.

    Lots of love.

  7. I think that Swarm's Zero G is quite possibly the sexiest looking inversion I've ever seen. Phwaor. The whole project (so far)>>>>>>> than any other Thorpe Park attraction.
  8. Am I trying to be popular here? No.What do you mean by that, it sounds as if you think I've got something against Gay people, well I have not. As in like, at weddings when you were 5, when other guys would go and kiss a girl, you thought it wasn't for you?Fair enough. But I really cannot see how you are born that way... Taken from the random picture thread. A slightly controversial subject. Are homosexuals born homosexual, or are we nurtured into a sexuality? The age old discussion: Nature Vs. Nurture. There have been many scientific studies into the matter, I believe that the common conclusion is that neither answer is completely correct, yet it is a combination of the two.
  9. I'm all for spontaneous discussion but can we please try to keep this thread light hearted, we have a fabtastic sexuality thread to debate such matters, which is where I'm heading off to right now!

  11. I find it interesting in terms of this is what the fans want to see a return to in an "Improving Thorpe Park" thread. It's true that the park are now more about themed attractions rather than cohesive areas but I wouldn't call it odd that fans would rather have themed areas.I think I would start over with the "link" to finally rid the zoning issues it's plagued with, once and for all. I know this is an extremely time consuming and expensive option, but it's really just not good enough from a park as ambitious as Thorpe. Not just for themed music, but for infrastructure reasons too, you'd think that the park would have this down by now, five years down the line.I'd give Colossus the repaint it deserves because it looks like it's committing suicide every time a train rolls over the tracks. I'd give Inferno's station exterior and interior a bloody good steam clean/ repaint too (volcano is going green). There are lanterns inside the station that have been broken for years and it's making me want to rip it down. Lol!
  12. Putting it like that Jimmy, I'd probs spend my single day at Magic Kingdom- purely because it has something for everyone and is the best introduction to theme parks and themed entertainment. Not an easy choice to make though.I feel as though people concentrate on Orlando too much at times. There are many other Disney and Universal parks that I'd love to try, such as Universal Singapore and Hollywood. Also, this goes without saying, but I'd do many bad things if I got the chance to visit the Tokyo Disney Resort, possibly two of the best theme parks in the world.
  13. Sounds like a fantastic new addition to Sea World for 2013.

    Music

Whilst many Pop Divas take over the charts, please bear in mind the humble Kelly Clarkson, who has one of the best voices in Pop: Cover of Carrie Underwood's "I Know You Won't". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwHdzs5T1DA&feature=player_embedded
  15. I don't think Marc would have posted this topic for the sake of it....
  16. I don't think I can call Vampire a World Class attraction, sadly. For me, the whole package has to be of a superior standard. That includes the theme and any special effects, the attraction itself, the story, the throughput and the emotions it causes with its audience. The staff try their hardest with operations of Vampire but the hardware itself just doesn't make this job easy. It's frustrating how the ride is set up and run. Whilst it has a very nicely decorated station, the rest of the ride leaves a lot to be desired for. The exterior of the station is literally a tin shed and unashamedly so. I'd agree that the exterior layout does not need much scenery other than the trees and landscape and I think the coaster itself is brilliant for its target audience. The queue is nicely paced however the props that are placed around it have seen better days. The jury is out to see if we can pull off a world class attraction. Perhaps the UK shall surprise us and it'll pop up outside of our theme parks.
  17. Tell us a bit about the design process behind the ride; was the layout proposed by you as the manufacturer or a collaboration between Thorpe Park and yourselves? Has the layout undergone any changes during the design the process?

    SAW: Alive

I'd just like to pass on the experience a friend of mine had in this maze on Sunday. So they're going through the maze and then they walk into a scene where two actors are talking to each other, out of character and also, one of them is on their phone. As though embarrassed, the actor on their phone rips my friend from his group, pushes him around, saying he should have a sense of humour as it's the last day. They push him through staff areas, into other actors, they make him go back and do scenes again, he got knocked to the floor and repetitively told that he should have a sense of humour. He was in there for an extra 10 minutes.Sounds like they took things way too far, the actors in question should never have been employed to work there and I hope they never work in something like that ever again. My friend was in tears by the end of it.
  19. Don't think I can choose. Both have their own merits that the other lacks. Disney are the kings of story-telling and immersion though Universal also offers some awesome attractions with a different vibe to Disney's.Both very different companies and therefore I cannot choose between the two.Edit: Also, why is Sea World included with Universal? Sea World and Busch Gardens parks are under their own separate company along with their sister parks and water parks- ie, nothing to do with Universal.
  20. Just to clear up the Scare Actor requirements- you have to be 18 or over, have either a qualification in performing arts, have previous experience working in a Scare Attraction or have some kind of contacts that help you along the way. All three generally helps. You're then invited to an audition where you have to demonastrate the ability to portray a character/ ability to act, or depending on how the panel are feeling, you'll have to demonstrate how you would frighten the thousands of guests in the attractions. There is moer than one type of scare, you can go for the startle scares, the high energy impact style, or you can have that very creepy, space invading type of scare, all are just as efefctive depending on the person.
  21. Oh my! A similar thing happened to me in Lust. The actor with the gimp mask on tried to tear me away from the group and wanted to put me inside the cage on the bed. Great direction there. Can definately tell there is a new creative team behind the event!
  22. I can't remember the order in which they appear in the maze, but I can pick out some of the elements from the room and tell you which they are. The first room is Wrath, where you have to crouch down slightly, the room with the dentist chair is Pride, the room with magazine cut outs is Envy. There is a room with a tv, a couch, a chair and lots of litter- this is sloth. You've got Lust and Gluttony. The final room with the cage is Greed (for materialistic things I suppose).Might I add, Se7en was my favourite maze this year as I found it had the best actors of all of the mazes we experienced. I was impressed. Whilst not scary in terms of making you jump, this is a maze where the actors like to invade your personal space, with lots of touching.Also- I'd recommend saying the name of the sin you're supposed to be in. As soon as you do, the actor in that particular room... shall we say... likes to make a fuss of you!
