Maxys voice has broken!!!!

One of my fave rides in the park. All the things I've heard about it have really excited me. I'm planning to take my auntie and uncle to Towers this year who have never experienced the ride- really want them to be impressed by it. Sounds weird but it feels like a ride that kind of "sums me up". There are all these multi-million pound dark rides worldwide but here in England is humble ol' Hex and for me it's right up there as one of the best dark rides.

The success of the zoo days are really encouraging. I hope it inspires the park to expand on the event year on year. Opening up Tomb and Zufari in the coming years would be awesome.

People who obsess over Celebrity culture; people who feel they have the right to make unfounded accusations and gossip and start rumours and get caught up in the perpetuity and monotony of it all. I'm sorry, first of all I find it just plain dull. Conversations which revolve around celebrities' "raunchy love affairs", weight gains, sexuality- I really couldn't give a toss. I've just had to walk away from a conversation at home because I found myself slipping into a black coma. It's so superficial. People out there who have genuine talent in whichever field they're in end up being spoken about and remembered for their personal lives, supposed scandals... ergh, whatever, I just don't care. You can see evidence from this on Youtube and other Media/ Magazine sites- the sheer volume of vulgar comments about everything except their talent. Makes me sick that is the society we have. People blame media, some people blame consumers who buy more and more of the "scandalous" bull.... and why do people find it interesting? I've never really understood why. Just wrong, disturbing. Plastic. Fake. Worry about your own lives and start pointing the finger at yourself rather than judging others to make yourself feel better about your own shortcomings. Much better.

Like Han said- amazing meet. Quite a few of us opted to not skate and was quite fun just watching (mocking) people on the ice. Bowling was good if not a bit competitive. I don't appreciate being beaten by a cripple. But the best thing abou these meets, as always, it has to be the people. Thank you to everyone who attended and persuaded me to come- I wasn't originally planning to but really glad I did. Looking forward to seeing all the photos and probably will see most of you again at a Chessington meet coming soon.

Quite a few places open for lunch. Zafari bar and grill in the hotel from 12:30- 3pm, creaky cafe, pizza pasta, chicken shack.

Will, that coaster in the Amsterdam Dungeons is absolute cack. I've heard several bad reviews about it and there just wouldn't be the space for it to provide a decent layout. The new boat ride is going to have a totally new story and Extremis has a lot more potential at the new site. I'm hearing more and more good things about the project the closer we get. Maybe I'm a previous sceptic who is now converted.

As far as I know, the plan was to keep Zufari seasonal in its first opening year, then start introducing it into zoo days. As always, plans change.

It's so devestating that we have to make comments about how one of the worlds leading attraction operators are styling shipping containers. We have theme parks reinventing theme park architecture and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Merlin really have such a potential to be able to do this across their attractions. Instead we get cheap, recycled garbage teetering on the edge of acceptable.

Have I missed something here? Has the tunnel been confirmed to not return? From what I can see it's all speculation at the moment. I will miss it if it doesn't return; though a lot more could be done than just a pitch black tunnel.

If the rumours of Sanctuary returning for Feb half term are true, I guess I better get up there because I never got the chance to experience it in the end. Thoroughly gutted. Looked and sounded amazing.

I may opt to stay away from all Alton forums in the coming months in an attempt to stay relatively spoiler free. I agree a scare maze is not the answer; it's been done before and would just be rehashed bull. I'd like to see them experiment more with lighting, environmental and practical effects though. Something which hasn't quite been done before in a Merlin theme park.

Congrats to the new members of the team. Fresh ideas is exactly what this place needs. Over the last year you'd be forgiven for thinking that I'd lost interest with virtually no input on the forums. It's very difficult to proactively participate here when you're working in the industry who have some very strict guidelines. I'm looking forward to still attending meets and popping in whenever I can though. Again, congrats to the new team members! Good luck.
